Chapter 9: Baby Intimidation Pays Well
Leylin's POV
After reflection, I decided to abandon the Nyssa option.
The reason is simple: there's too little to gain from her and she makes me pity her. Moreover, I don't have much time ahead of me.
"I'll have to contact Leylin again. He's the only one who possesses interesting knowledge while often being weakened," I said to no one in particular.
It was a habit I had developed from being alone with books. Fortunately, Willow's presence has weakened this bad habit.
It's really a shame that I discovered the star passage by pure chance. If it had happened earlier, I could have put in place a more effective plan to obtain knowledge from other interesting universes, like futuristic ones.
I opened the novel "Warlock of the Magus World" again to look for a moment when Leylin has enough interesting knowledge but is too weak to cause me trouble or resistance.
"He preferably should have no combat power, like earlier," I muttered while quickly flipping through the pages.
As I rapidly scrolled through the novel, I could observe changes in its content. They weren't major, but minimal.
It seems that my encounter with Leylin has affected the scenario of this story, but also that I've just intimidated a future rank 9 magus.
I just hope that the change in the scenario is only linked to this novel and its narration. BUT if this change affects all the novels of "Warlock of the Magus World" on the boiling islands, then I would have potentially affected the scenario of all alternative versions of Leylin Farlier.
I've just realized that I've been careless in my previous actions.
I should be nicer to him this time. I know he's not a vindictive individual if there are enough advantages to gain in a relationship.
I remember that the "Snake Dowager" had cursed him, but in the end, he was able to ally with her since there were enough advantages.
A few seconds later, I found the chapter I needed.
In front of me, there was a bed and above it, I could see a beautiful young woman holding a baby in her arms.
"Hello Leylin Farlier. No, excuse me, this time it's not Fang Ming or Leylin Farlier, but Leylin Faulen," I said, smiling at him.
I could see the stunned look on the baby's face in his mother's arms. I must say it's funny to see.
"Don't look at me like that, I'm not here to intimidate you this time, haha," I said, laughing.
"Interesting, despite your current state, I can sense a subtle use of energy around you," I declared, fascinated.
I approached with soft steps to avoid waking the woman on the bed out of courtesy. She had just given birth after all, and I'm not a monster to not be courteous to a mother.
Once in front of the silent baby, I quickly put a Potara on his ear and, as expected, baby Leylin couldn't physically resist me.
"I'm not going to harm you or your new family, Leylin 'Faulen'. Otherwise, I would attack your original body currently asleep," I said, smiling at the agitated baby. At my words, Leylin calmed down.
"I'm just going to take some knowledge. I advise you to simply avoid resisting," I informed before using the Potara to enter his mind again.
[Alert, alert, alert!!!]
[Intruder detected in the database...]
[Initialization of expulsion procedure in progress...]
"Leylin, do you really want me to inform Beelzebub of your presence?" I said, frowning.
[Cancellation of expulsion procedure...]
It seems that Leylin's AI Chip has evolved enormously since last time. I could clearly feel it rejecting my mind before finally accepting it.
"That's much better. You know you can talk to me telepathically with this earring?" I said as I accumulated a lot of knowledge from the world of magi, but also from other worlds like Purgatory or the Lava World, etc.
"Who are you and why are you after me?" he told me mentally.
"I mean you no harm, Leylin. I just desire more knowledge and you're a magus, right?" I said to him with a look that said "you understand, don't you?"
After assimilating all the information that Leylin had accumulated, I had a slight headache, but that was all.
"That's a lot of information. Here, to thank you," I said smiling before sending him some information about Distortion Shadow and Beelzebub.
"Goodbye Leylin. If we meet again someday, let's talk about the infinity of realities over a drink," I said, taking back my Potara.
"No, wait, I..." Leylin couldn't say anything as I had already removed my Potara and was about to close the novel.
I could see on the baby's face his reluctance to leave. It's normal since he has just discovered that he has many enemies and problems.
I directly burned the novel after the star event. I absolutely didn't want to see Leylin Faulen or Leylin Farlier again.
Although I "helped" him, I don't know if his grudge is greater than this gain and I didn't want to kill him in his current form.
Yes, I don't think I'm capable of killing a baby and I'm just going to hope that I only affected the scenario of the novel I used and not the scenario of "Warlock of the Magus World" itself.
"When I leave the library, I must check that the scenario of the other novels hasn't been modified," I said to no one in particular in a serious tone.
If they are all modified, then yes, I would have screwed up since I would have affected "Warlock of the Magus World" in its entirety and not just the novel I used.
"At worst, I'll just destroy this damn star next time," I said as I entered my hideout in the library to meditate.
I wanted to perfectly assimilate the knowledge obtained from Leylin Faulen. I must say that the amount of information is frightening.
There was just too much information in Leylin's AI Chip and mind, such as knowledge related to the construction of an astral gate or Fang Ming's futuristic earth.
The astral gate is an important element if a magus wants to travel to other worlds. There were also potion recipes to increase spiritual energy.
An important thing I obtained is high-level meditation methods, but also all the knowledge from the great library of the Monarch of the Skies.
"I can see a lot of meditation methods and knowledge of the central continent from the library of the Monarch of the Skies."

"Leylin, I was able to cover for you, but I think your mother suspects something," Willow explains to me in a low voice.
"Thank you Willow, you were great," I said, ruffling her hair.
"Stop..." she said, trying to protest, but unfortunately, it was useless.
"Here, I bring you a gift," I said, giving her information about a basic magus meditation method and the knight training method thanks to my Potara.
I would like to practice them myself quickly, but I'm too wary of Leylin Faulen and I also need to see how my current race reacts to magus training methods.
I remember that the magi were able to teach the wizards and witches of the world of God and this created the arcanists, but the Leylin I met knew nothing about arcanists.
So I have to be careful. Fortunately, Willow is here to test these things.
"Thank you Leylin," Willow replies, clearly happy. I just told her that this can make her strong and she was happy to cooperate with me.
