Liu Jin brought a jin of brown sugar and a box of green bean cakes, and went to the village head's house. It was not until he lingered for a good half of the day that he left.
The village head watched the small figure leave his doorstep, picked up his tobacco pipe, and his face bore an expression that was hard to define.
"Old man, look." The village head's wife showed him what Liu Jin had brought: "It's brown sugar, and there are cakes too."
