Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Stop Your Pig’s Trotters

Wufu didn't know how she had arrived at this damned place, which required adherence to the Three Obediences and the Four Virtues, and observance of the Female Precepts, before the incident happened, she had been on a mission, and then her life was ended by a gunshot, tsk, truly as the saying goes, 'venture too often into the forest, and you will encounter the tiger.'

After the incident, when she awoke, she had become Wufu, a poor soul who died after knocking her head in a fight with a cousin.

Wufu touched her forehead, where there was a just-healed wound, covered by her fringe, and sighed.

Then she raised her hands, slender and frail with hardly any flesh, weak indeed. The original owner of this body, although not a woman who gasped for breath after walking only a few steps, was weaker compared to her past self.

It was better left unmentioned!

The original owner was gone, and for the sake of survival, she also had to live an extra life on behalf of the original, so she could only do things her own way—to become stronger.

And to become stronger, one needed a robust and tough physique, thus Wufu came up to the mountain every day, firstly because there were more game in the summer for some extra nutrition. Secondly, to train her body and recover her former skills.

Over the past ten days, she had finally been able to hunt two small creatures, and Wufu was quite satisfied with herself.

As the saying goes, haste makes waste. She was only fourteen years old, with plenty of time to train herself.

With that thought, Wufu sprung up from the rock, first fiddled with the firewood under the earthenware pot of chicken soup, then found a tree, agilely climbed up, clung to the trunk, pulled herself up, and hung upside down...

With her body covered in sweat, Wufu, patting her full belly, hummed a tune and cheerfully descended the mountain.

She was still hundreds of meters away from her home when she saw a figure rush into her house like the wind, her eyes sharpened immediately. She looked left and right, took out a firewood knife, cut a piece of bamboo stick from the side, sharpened it, and dashed down the hill.

As soon as she entered the courtyard, she heard the sound of bowls being smashed inside the house, followed by pleading and arguing.

"Eldest sister-in-law, it was just two children squabbling. Moreover, Wufu was pushed by Xiuxiu and got injured, nearly dying, but I did not pursue the matter. Xiuxiu has only a scratch on her face; it's not even bleeding. You demand compensation right off the bat—how is that fair? I also gave you dozens of money before, where would I have more silver to compensate you?"

That was the voice of her mother, Madam Zhou, who seemed to be reasoning, but her naturally weak voice sounded utterly lacking in conviction.

"How can your Wufu compare to our Xiuxiu? Our Xiuxiu is the flower of Wozi Village, who will become the lady of the household in the future. That little wretch Wufu is just a bastard, not even fit to carry shoes for our Xiuxiu! She scratched our Xiuxiu, so she must compensate. A few dozen money can't even buy the medicine needed. Get out of my way!" A sharp and domineering woman's voice rose, followed by sounds of things being knocked over.

Wielding the bamboo stick, Wufu rushed in, only to see her mother lying on the ground while a big and plump woman had her back turned to her, climbing onto their shared bed and rifling through a cupboard above it.

"Stop your pig's hand right now, if you value your life," Wufu raised the bamboo stick, her voice cold.

Madam Lu had just taken out a red box when she heard this icy statement, inexplicably freezing in place. She slowly turned around, only to be met with a sharpened bamboo stick pointed right at her face, which made her scream in terror and stumble backward.

"Wufu!" Madam Zhou climbed up from the ground, her face blanching with fright as she trembled, "What are you doing? Put down the stick at once!"
