Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Driving the Big Car

Before long, Heath found the so-called Mobile Kitchen Prototype I on his little food cart. It was a tiny, miniature kitchen cart, resembling a scale model car from his previous life.

Yes, it was like a scale model car, not one of those long-legged model cars.

"What is this…" Heath hesitated as he looked at the small model car in his hand. He decided to put it away for now, worried that opening it outside might cause some problems.

After all, a brand-new food truck suddenly appearing out of nowhere would look quite strange.

As lunchtime approached, Heath got busy again. This time, he launched a limited-time roast duck special. Customers could add roast duck to their egg fried rice or breakfast crapes for an additional ten League coins.

Heath thought it would take some time to sell out of the roast duck, but the customers' enthusiasm was unexpectedly high. They quickly bought all the roast duck he had.

"Incredible," Heath smiled brightly at the coins in his pocket.

He suddenly realized the benefits of having Farfetch'd learn culinary skills. When traveling to other cities or opening a restaurant, Farfetch'd would be a great help. It was like having a Pokémon assistant of a different kind.

After the lunch rush, Heath packed up his food cart and headed home with Farfetch'd and Zorua. There wouldn't be any customers until the dinner rush.

Once in the dormitory area, Heath eagerly took out the miniature kitchen cart. He was puzzled about how to activate it.

After some thought, Heath placed the model on the ground and poked it. Nothing happened.

"What are you doing, Trainer?" Zorua jumped down from Heath and curiously pawed at the model kitchen cart.

"Nothing, this is my kitchen cart. I'm trying to figure out how to open it," Heath replied, picking up Zorua and enjoying her soft, furry body.

As soon as Heath said this, the kitchen cart suddenly expanded. To Heath's astonishment, it quickly grew into a food truck the size of a motorhome.

"What the…?" Zorua was shocked. How did this huge kitchen cart appear from what she had just touched?

Heath opened his mouth in surprise, then silently opened the cart door and stepped inside. He wanted to see what this gift from his system really was.

After looking around, Heath's expression grew even stranger. The size of the kitchen cart was surprising.

The cart wasn't very large, but its design amazed Heath. It had all the necessary kitchen tools, including a roast duck oven and some equipment so obscure that Heath didn't even recognize them.

What pleased Heath the most was the large refrigerator and freezer. If he took this food truck on the road, he wouldn't need to bring any other kitchen supplies.

The only downside was that the cart was strictly a kitchen. It had no bed or bathroom. Despite this, Heath was very satisfied.

However, Heath now had a headache. How would he explain this sudden appearance of a food truck? Even Officer Maple Jenny might not believe him.

As Heath was worrying, he noticed a red button labeled "Rational" beside the kitchen cart's cutting board. Curiously, Heath pressed it.

He was suddenly ejected, and the kitchen cart disappeared. Confused, Heath wondered if his system had malfunctioned when his phone rang.

Heath pulled out his cheap phone, a hand-me-down from Maple. It was enough for his needs—calls and messages.

"Hello?" Heath answered the phone.

"Hello, is this Mr. Heath?" A pleasant female voice on the other end made Heath think she could be a voice actress.

After confirming his identity, the girl excitedly told Heath that he had won Silph Co.'s latest Mobile Kitchen Prototype I and asked for his delivery details.

In his previous life, Heath would have laughed at such an obvious scam. But remembering his vanished kitchen cart and the "Rational" button, he provided his information.

Afterward, the girl told Heath he would receive his prize later that day.

Hanging up, Heath was still a bit bewildered by the sudden surprise. However, he felt relieved. His system was quite powerful, even managing this.

Near dinner time, Heath finally received his prize: an identical kitchen cart to the one given by his system, minus the rational button.

This attracted the attention of the local TV station. Viridian City reporters came to interview Heath, and through official procedures, he received a brand-new food truck.

"Heath, I didn't know you had such luck," Maple said, looking at Heath with a strange expression. She never thought Heath, usually so unlucky, would win something.

"Sister Maple, I'm not that unlucky," Heath laughed awkwardly. Though the win was indeed thanks to his system.

"This truck is nice, but Heath, do you have a driver's license?" Maple asked, glancing at the food truck.

Heath froze. He didn't have a driver's license.

"What? Heath doesn't have a driver's license?" Jana, watching nearby, smiled brightly.

Heath felt a chill. How could he forget that Jana was in charge of issuing driver's licenses?

"Right, Jana, make sure Heath learns how to drive safely," Maple said, patting her sister's shoulder. Heath shivered, seeing the smile on Jana's face.

"Of course~ I'll teach Heath how to drive a big car~" Jana said with a mischievous grin.
