Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Letting Go

"I'm feeling better now; I can go down to the field today," Lu Jingqiu said as she followed her dormmate Yun Yuzhi to collect the farming tools.

She had arrived here the autumn before last, and had already spent two years in Ten-miles Village. Being an only child in her family, with both parents holding good jobs, she would have stayed in the city to work, as arranged by her parents after high school graduation, if it weren't for the unexpected.

For the sake of Gao Shu, she had secretly run off to the countryside.
