Chapter 96: Accident

Upon entering Odin's treasury, Blake realized that certain scenes in movies shouldn't be taken at face value.

Odin had once fought throughout the universe during his youth, conquering thousands of planets. It was impossible that his treasury only contained the few items shown in the movies.

In reality, Odin's vault was filled with a wide variety of treasures, almost as extensive as the collection of the Collector from *Guardians of the Galaxy*. In fact, many items that the Collector had long coveted were already present here.

For instance, right in front of them was a three-meter-tall glass case containing a fully intact Groot tree.

"What's this?" Blake pointed at the tree and asked.

"This is a Floral Colossus. Their species is very rare. When I was young, one of our tutors was one of them. Grootese was actually one of our elective courses," Thor explained. "When he passed away, my father kept his body as a relic. You see, it's almost impossible to find them nowadays!"

Thor, who had been brought along by Odin to accompany Blake in the vault, explained.

This guy had come to teach their family, only to be turned into a specimen after he died—what a way to go.

Blake glanced at the unfortunate Groot's body and shifted his gaze to other areas.

There were all sorts of exotic weapons and armor. Blake even spotted three Dragonfang swords.

"These are the Dragonfang swords used by the Valkyries. When I was a kid, I really wanted one. They were once wielded by Asgard's most powerful army, but for some reason, they all vanished," Thor explained, sounding like a tour guide in a museum. Each time Blake looked at something, Thor would provide a brief explanation.

After wandering around and seeing many rare and fascinating items, Blake hadn't yet encountered the specific treasures shown in the movies.

Curious, he asked Thor, "Is that all? This is the All-Father's vault. Aren't there any more powerful items, like the magical weapons, say, your hammer?"

"There are definitely some powerful artifacts, but most of them come with too many restrictions. I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to use them. If you haven't found anything interesting yet, I'll show you the good stuff," Thor said, walking toward the back of the vault and pushing hard against a wall.

This revealed the inner vault—the one shown in the movies—where all the truly valuable treasures were kept.

There was the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Eternal Flame, and even the so-called "fake" Infinity Gauntlet, among other items.

"And this gauntlet? This size isn't meant for just anyone. What's the deal with the stones on it?" Blake asked, pretending to be curious as he picked up the Infinity Gauntlet.

"This is a gauntlet designed to help wield the power of the Infinity Stones. It was created by the previous king of the Dwarves on Nidavellir, based on his own hand size. His goal was to forge a perfect artifact that could house all six Infinity Stones, a testament to his mastery in craftsmanship."

"But as soon as it was made, every ambitious being in the universe who sought to control the Infinity Stones wanted to get their hands on the gauntlet. In the end, the Dwarf King had no choice but to offer it to my father, hoping that Odin's power and reputation would deter those who coveted it," Thor explained.

Blake then realized that the gauntlet was indeed real, and the fake mentioned by Hela in the movie likely referred to the stones on it, not the gauntlet itself. The Dwarf King had crafted it to showcase his skills, but to avoid trouble, he gifted it to Odin.

Nodding in agreement, Blake turned his attention to the Casket of Ancient Winters.

"This is an artifact of the Frost Giants…" Thor began explaining patiently once more.

Blake could sense that without Frost Giant blood, he wouldn't be able to activate the Casket. As for the Infinity Gauntlet, leaving aside the issue of its size, without the Infinity Stones, it was practically useless.

Honestly, there didn't seem to be anything in Odin's vault that Blake could actually use.

As he thought this over, Blake approached the Eternal Flame.

In the next instant, something unexpected happened.

As soon as he got close to the Eternal Flame, which had been quietly burning within its container, it suddenly flared up as if someone had poured a large amount of fuel onto it.

The flames surged dramatically, shooting up more than two meters high. The fire's range quickly expanded, spilling beyond the boundaries of its container.

The flames expanded by about a meter before suddenly shifting and surging toward Blake. The massive ball of fire, larger than a person, rushed toward him like a bird returning to its nest, forcing its way into his mouth, nose, and every pore on his body.

The change was so sudden that both Blake and Thor were completely caught off guard.

"My hair…!" Blake had just begun to worry when the flames poured into him through his mouth and nose.

The fire, seemingly sentient, moved through his pores and every orifice, swirling around his body.

Thor was initially stunned. He knew how dangerous this fire was, but in all the years he'd been in and out of the treasury, he had never seen the flame act like this. By the time he snapped out of it, the flames had already entered Blake's body through his seven orifices.

Sensing something was wrong, Thor instinctively wanted to intervene, but it was too late. Blake's body suddenly emitted a brilliant light, and his entire form transformed into a figure of pure flame.

Strangely enough, Blake's clothes, skin, and even his hair remained completely untouched by the fire, without the slightest sign of damage.

Blake's experience, however, was far from pleasant. The moment the flames entered his body, a violent and searing energy began rampaging through him. Compared to the last time he'd consumed the Hulk serum, this was like comparing a firecracker to a grenade.

The energy tore through his muscles, meridians, and bones, ravaging every part of his body.

"Ahhh!!!" Blake screamed, and with his shout, a burst of flame erupted from his mouth, blasting a hole through the wall!

At the same time, beneath the Golden Palace, a rune symbolizing Asgard's flame power suddenly became unstable. It surged up from the ground, breaking through to the palace above.

"Damn it!" Odin, who had been chatting casually with the Ancient One, roared in anger and sprang to his feet, rushing toward the treasury.

The Ancient One followed closely behind.

When they arrived, they found Blake, now fully engulfed in flames, floating silently in midair with his eyes closed. Nearby stood a dumbfounded Thor.

Just then, a series of chaotic cracking sounds echoed as a dark red rune burst through the walls, shattering two layers of the treasury's defenses as it made its way into the inner vault.

The rune shot directly toward Blake!

"No!" Odin shouted, his voice booming.

"Stop right there!" Odin's body glowed with golden light as he reached out to grab the rune.
