Chapter 95: An Unexpected Conclusion

As mentioned before, there are many ways to manipulate time.

You can influence your enemies, but you can also influence yourself.

Alex didn't care one bit for Kiritsugu Emiya's Time Alter ability, which was essentially just speeding up or slowing down his body. That's a method a mere mortal like Emiya had to rely on for combat. For Alex, with his Zerg-enhanced body, he could already beat someone like Emiya—who was using tenfold Time Alter—a hundred times over.

Of course, with Alex's current modified body, his survival might not even be a question, but Emiya Kiritsugu's was definitely not in doubt—he wouldn't survive.

So, for Alex, there was only one other way to use time manipulation that could both benefit him and weaken his enemies.

Future Sight.

This was the reason Alex had been able to dodge Bella's attacks so easily. Beyond the evasion techniques he learned in the Dark Souls world, he had also been using Future Sight. Alex had concentrated all of his time manipulation ability into his left eye, allowing him to see several seconds into the future. That's how he had managed to hold his ground against Bella. Without this near-precognitive power, Bella might have escaped or become a much bigger headache.

No, truthfully, she was already giving him a headache.

Looking at the six-armed serpent demon pinned beneath a large boulder, Alex rubbed his forehead. Having one eye fixed on the present and the other on the future sounded cool, but in practice, it was exhausting. Alex didn't know if true future sight gave others headaches, but after maintaining it for this long, he could feel a dull pain creeping into his skull. It wasn't just the strain of using the power, but also the mental effort of choosing between the two visions—distinguishing between the present and the future.

If he got them mixed up, future sight wouldn't be a cheat ability—it would be a lethal curse.

But thanks to Future Sight, Alex had managed to deal with the six-armed serpent demon so smoothly... though, technically, she wasn't dead yet. But in Alex's eyes, her death was only a matter of time.

At that moment, Ikaros reappeared beside Alex, revealing herself. She kept a wary eye on Bella while hiding cautiously behind Alex.

"A mere mortal and an angel weaker than a lowly imp... I can't believe I'm losing to the likes of you!" Bella spat venomously, her six arms clenched into fists.

"But don't think you've won yet—"

Before Bella could finish her sentence, a pillar of light suddenly descended from the sky, enveloping her. At the same time, a deep voice reverberated through the ruins.

"Demon, this place is not meant for you. Accept your fate!"

As the old bishop's voice rang out, the pillar of holy light grew brighter. Alex watched as countless dark bats flew out from the shadows, flapping their wings frantically as they gathered together. From within the swarm, a figure radiating a sacred aura emerged—a vampire bishop holding a holy book, walking forward with dignity and grace.

"..."

Seeing this, Alex hesitated, but in the end, he said nothing.

A vampire using holy light... there's just too much irony here, I don't even know where to start.

"This time, you won't have any chance to escape, Bella. Be purified by the holy light!"

As the vampire bishop's voice thundered, the pillar of light expanded. Alex watched as Bella's expression twisted in pain, the shadows surrounding her starting to fade. But that wasn't the important part. What caught Alex's attention was a small green snake that slithered out from beneath Bella's body, writhing in agony as it emerged, screeching in fury.

"You holy light users are so vile!!!"

Click. Click.

Alex clicked his tongue, shaking his head. As expected, Bella was devious. While she had been stalling by pretending to be the big boss, she had secretly been trying to escape in her true form—a classic boss move.

But...

Alex glanced at the vampire bishop. The bishop looked majestic and imposing, bathed in holy light, exuding a natural aura of authority. Hmm... if you replaced the holy light with a blood-red glow, he'd look just like a vampire archduke, maybe even Count Dracula.

Alex was tempted to ask the bishop if he had once been a boss-level entity before joining the Holy Church, because he certainly seemed to know a lot about boss tactics.

But before Alex could comment further, his expression suddenly shifted.

"Something's wrong, fall back!!"

"You will all pay for what you've done!!"

Before Alex could finish his warning, the small green snake—the true form of Bella—let out a furious roar. Immediately, a dark and ominous energy surged from the snake's body, forming a black, hemispherical barrier that expanded outward, forcefully pushing back the holy light. At the same time, both the small snake and Bella's previous body began to fade, as the massive shadow of an even larger six-armed serpent demon started to materialize.

"Not good!"

Seeing the scene unfold, the vampire bishop's face turned pale. He hurriedly raised his holy book, but before he could act, a thunderous roar echoed through the air as countless bolts of black lightning suddenly materialized, striking the ground around them. At the same time, the figure of the six-armed serpent demon grew larger and larger.

Of course, a second form... BOSS fights never skip this phase!

Seeing the sudden appearance of the black lightning, Alex quickly grabbed Ikaros and raised his right hand, switching to the [Kerrigan] soul stone and activating his psionic shield. He had no idea how powerful this black lightning was, but he wasn't about to test it. The very ground, cracking and crumbling where the lightning struck, was enough to prove that these weren't just some decorative effects during the boss's transformation!

"She's activating her Soul's Eye! We need to stop her!"

The vampire bishop's face twisted in fear as he hurriedly retreated, joining Alex inside the psionic shield. Alex glanced at the bishop, raising an eyebrow.

"Soul's Eye? Can we stop it?"

Alex asked, his tone calm despite the urgency.

"It's difficult!"

The bishop frowned deeply, his holy book dimming, the once-bright light pillar that had been attacking the demon also fading.

"I've only heard rumors of the six-armed serpent demon lord's third eye. It's said that she was born in the Abyss with three eyes, and the third eye allows her to absorb the power of souls. The more she kills, the stronger she becomes. There are even tales that her third eye is where her soul truly resides..."

So, it's basically a real-life version of gaining XP by killing?

Alex couldn't help but glance curiously at the six-armed serpent demon.

Is she a fellow transmigrator too?

"You won't escape!!"

With a roar of fury, Bella spread her influence. The surrounding corpses—those of mercenaries and cultists—began to shrivel, their blood and souls being drained by an unseen force and merging with Bella's growing form. In that moment, she seemed like the embodiment of a blood god.

"You will all die here! Tremble before my Soul's Eye! I will devour your souls and—"

As Bella slowly raised her hand towards her forehead, Alex, Ikaros, and the bishop tensed. But Alex's expression seemed oddly amused, for he had already glimpsed what was about to unfold through his Future Sight.

Is my ability malfunctioning?

At that moment, as Bella's hand reached the center of her forehead, her expression suddenly twisted in confusion.

"Where is my Soul's Eye? How could it be—how is it in your possession?!"

Realizing something was wrong, Bella's gaze darted toward Alex and his companions. At the same time, Ikaros held up a small, glowing red orb—the very object she had taken from the broken statue's forehead earlier.

"You mean this?"

Alex asked, his voice dripping with irony. He and the bishop followed Bella's gaze and quickly understood what had happened.

"Give it back!!"

Bella shrieked, her figure blurring as she rushed forward, a wave of blood and fury following her, intent on reclaiming her Soul's Eye.

But at that moment, the vampire bishop turned toward the orb in Ikaros' hand and bellowed.

"Holy Light Judgment!!"

With the bishop's shout, his holy book exploded in a radiant burst of light, forming a glowing sphere. Simultaneously, the blood-red orb in Ikaros' hand reacted, violently pulsating as it tried to escape her grip, attempting to flee from the holy light. But just as it began to slip away, Alex extended his hand, using his psionic power to hold the orb in place.

The glowing sphere of light struck the red orb directly.

"Nooooooo!!!"

Bella's scream of agony echoed as her body, charging toward them in a fit of rage, suddenly disintegrated into a pool of blood, exploding on impact.
