In the training room, with Meng Qingjiao and Chen Fuguang having already left, only Xue Jing and Li Qi remained.
Li Qi wheeled his chair around thoughtfully before finally stopping in front of Xue Jing. "I originally thought that, even with your talent, it would take at least another month before your physical condition was ready to practice the Armor-shaking Technique."
"But it seems your growth rate has exceeded my expectations, as usual."
"It's time. I'll teach you the Armor-shaking Technique now."
Xue Jing's spirits lifted at the news. "Master, please show me your ways!"
Li Qi smiled. "No need to rush. The Armor-shaking Technique is different from the Dragon Hibernation Technique. It's not something you can learn overnight. You'll need certain preparations and aids. It's more than just practicing a few moves."
"Wait here for a bit while I make the arrangements."
Xue Jing nodded and watched as Li Qi left the room. Left to his own devices, he pulled out his phone to pass the time and noticed a message from his sister, Xue Wan.
[Xue Wan: [Picture]]
Xue Jing opened the photo. It seemed to have been taken in a large sports stadium, capturing a crowd of spectators focused on a central stage. The image was taken from a distance, so only two figures were visible on the stage, but the large screens above the venue showed close-ups.
The two young men on stage appeared to be engaged in a fierce fight. The ground around them was cracked and uneven, with chunks missing—a scene almost impossible to believe was caused by a fight between humans.
[Xue Wan: U19 Fighting Competition~ The two people on stage are the same age as you. How did these martial artists become like this? They're practically superhuman!]
Xue Jing smiled and typed a reply.
[Xue Jing: That's amazing. If they hit me, I would be killed on the spot.]
[Xue Wan: Haha, if that's your way of trying to make me laugh, I'm afraid you failed completely.]
[Xue Jing: Haha, no way, you're laughing, right?]
They chatted for a while longer before Xue Wan sent another photo.
This one featured a strange-looking middle-aged woman, apparently sitting beside Xue Wan in the stands. The woman had a calm expression, completely indifferent to the intense battle on stage—a stark contrast to the excited crowd around her.
The woman's appearance was ordinary, except for her dark green hair braided into dreadlocks that hung down like vines, adorned with flowers of various colors.
[Xue Wan: This is my horticulture professor at the university. Pretty stylish, huh?]
Xue Jing paused, examining the photo carefully. For some reason, something about the middle-aged woman struck him as odd.
Before he could respond, Xue Wan sent another message.
[Xue Wan: Oops, she caught me taking photos... Better stop here before I get scolded by the professor.]
Xue Jing replied with a nodding emoji and put his phone down.
A few minutes later, Li Qi returned to the practice room, rolling in with a strange object in his hand. It looked like a white thermos connected to an oxygen mask.
Xue Jing asked curiously, "Master, what is that?"
Li Qi held up the device and explained, "This is a nebulizer inhaler."
"It atomizes liquid medicine into particles smaller than 1 micron…you'll understand once you put it on."
He handed the nebulizer to Xue Jing.
Taking it, Xue Jing inspected the device, then put on the oxygen mask, securing it behind his head with the elastic band. The whole setup looked quite strange.
"We martial artists have each developed our own 'secret methods of blood cleansing,'" Li Qi began to explain. "With modern technology, practicing martial arts has become easier. The secret blood-washing methods of the past have evolved, just like this nebulizer inhaler..."
"I've prepared our Hidden Dragon School's secret medicine in liquid form. When you use the nebulizer, it atomizes the liquid into tiny particles that can pass through the alveoli. With the proper breathing technique, the medicine enters the bloodstream, gradually cleansing the blood, and eventually reaching the brain, internal organs, bone marrow, and the entire body."
"This method of drug absorption is far more efficient than ingesting medicine. Almost none of the medicinal effects are wasted."
Li Qi sighed, "This is one of the scientific martial arts training methods developed by the big companies in the inner ring cities. It's rendered many old methods obsolete, even forcing the most stubborn martial artists to adopt these 'strange techniques.'"
Hearing this, Xue Jing looked at the nebulizer in front of him with interest. He shook it gently, hearing the liquid inside slosh around.
"The Armor-shaking Technique involves moving the body in specific ways. It has five sets of movements, corresponding to the skin, flesh, tendons, bones, and blood. These also align with the five 'killing moves' of our Hidden Dragon Style."
"Today, I'll teach you the first set of movements. This set is for 'skin training.'"
With that, Li Qi grabbed Xue Jing's wrist and swung it with a powerful force, as if tossing noodles.
The strength flowed into Xue Jing's body through his palm, causing him to involuntarily perform various movements.
As he went through the first movement, Xue Jing began to feel his skin tingle as if being electrocuted. His hair stood on end, and an unbearable prickling pain spread across his body.
At the end of the movement, his entire body shook violently, like a dragon shaking its armor (Scales). His skin felt as though it were trembling, and while the pain was intense, there was also a faint pleasure in the sensation, almost making him want to shout.
The second movement followed immediately, intensifying the numbness and pain. By the end of the sequence, his body trembled again.
Then came the third, the fourth…
Each movement was more challenging than the last. By the time he completed all 27 movements, Xue Jing collapsed to his knees, his whole body twitching, tears nearly spilling from the pain.
This was the Armor-shaking Technique!
It was far more difficult than the Dragon Hibernation Technique. Even with his current physical condition, Xue Jing could barely handle practicing the first set of movements.
His skin felt hot and prickly all over, as if being electrocuted, with countless needles piercing his pores simultaneously, causing immense pain.
But amid the agony, there was a faint, refreshing sensation, as if old, dry bark had suddenly regained vitality.
Xue Jing opened his panel to check the effects of practicing the Armor-shaking Technique, but was surprised to see a new prompt.
