Chapter 2: Chapter 2 – Appraisal Quest
The first day of the semester was always a boring time, because all they did was introduce themselves, then their classes went by in a blur.
Tom also felt that it was a waste of time, so he didn't pay any attention and instead, kept using his new skill <Appraisal>. He could use it just by willing for it in his mind.
<Appraisal> was a very convenient skill.
By looking at someone, their name would appear in his vision, and he could get their information. For example, when he used <Appraisal> on his friend, this came up.

Still, this skill was really useful. Not only he would be able to see someone's name, but also their condition, personality, and the title. From what he knew, title was how people perceive that certain person.
Sam, his friend, was known to have a big crush against a senior in his circle of friends. That was why his title was as such.
'I thought <Appraisal> would be a useless skill, but this is good. This can help me make conversation, for example, like...'
"Sam, you seem pretty healthy today."
"Huh? Did you hit your head or something? Are you sure you're fine?"
Sam was bewildered. He looked at Tom as if he was a lunatic.
"No, I'm perfectly fine. Don't worry."
Tom was grinning.
This was fun. He liked his <Appraisal> skill. It could be used in a lot of ways.
'Now, I just need to find a girl with [Pure] personality. Now I understand what that mean.'
Tom had appraised a lot of girls already. Among them, there was no girl with a 'Pure' personality.
However, one girl did have the title 'Goody Two Shoes', but that was different from what could be considered 'Pure'. And surprisingly, there were many 'Slut' title, too.
'What a lewd school this is...'
Anyway, now he knew what 'Pure' meant.
"Class is over. Let's go grab some lunch."
"Okay."
Tom and Sam left the classroom together.
"So, how did you know I was healthy? Did you notice I'm walking better than before?"
"Yes, exactly. You're not limping anymore, so I guess your leg is okay now."
Last week, Sam had an accident when he was playing soccer, and his leg got hurt. Now, he was totally fine.
"Well, you're right. I'm all good now, and ready to play soccer again. I hope Karina will notice me."
"That senior, right? You're head over heel with her."
"Haha, well, you can't blame me. She's just too cute. I'm planning to ask her out when I win the soccer match."
"Go for it."
"Thanks, man. I'll make sure to invite you to the party. Well, I can't be sure if she says yes, though. After all, she's a beauty with a great body, and her face is so pretty. It would be impossible for me, a nobody, to get her."
Sam sighed, looking depressed.
"I'm sure it will be alright. She'll like you, if you're serious. Have confidence, dude."
Tom smiled gently. He couldn't help but be reminded of himself, as he used to be a loser. He wasn't the most handsome man on earth. In fact, he was rather average.
Still, he learned that confidence could go a long way. At least, he was now average man and not a loser who got bullied by others.
"I will try. If you say so, Tom, then I believe you."
"I believe in you, too."
They walked side by side, while Sam looked up at the sky, thinking of his future date.
The cafeteria was full of students. It was noisy and crowded, but that didn't stop Sam and Tom.
As the two of them got their food, they sat at a table in a corner and began to eat.
"By the way, did you find a girlfriend yet?"
"Me? I haven't even started looking."
Tom didn't really want a girlfriend. But still, if he found a girl he was interested in, or interested in him, he wouldn't refuse.
"Really? Well, that's understandable. It's hard to get a girlfriend nowadays. The girls here are just too picky, man."
"I know what you mean."
"I don't even have a chance to get close to a girl, let alone have a girlfriend."
"Well, I can't do anything about that."

He hoped to find the girl before lunch was over. There were many people in the cafeteria, it was impossible not to find one.

"Yes, a girl with a pure personality." He said to Sam while sipping his coke.
"If you're talking about purity, then I know someone."
"Really?"
He couldn't believe his ears. Was his quest complete?
"Who is it? Tell me, please. Is it someone here in the cafeteria?"
"Isn't it obvious? It's Karina. You should meet her."
"Ah."
Right. If it was that girl who was famous for being angelic, of course she would have a pure personality.
"She is a goody two shoes and doesn't even drink. She doesn't have any boyfriend and is a virgin. And her boobs are huge!"
Sam was practically drooling as he talked about her. He seemed to be obsessed with her, which wasn't surprising, considering her personality and appearance.
"Well, she seems like the perfect girl. But you're aiming for her, right? I won't interfere."
"Ah, we just talked about her and she appeared." The boy pointed. "She's over there, wearing a white shirt and a pink skirt."
Following the direction his friend was pointing at, Tom spotted her.
Karina was indeed, very pretty.
Her skin was pale, her hair was wavy and blond, and her lips were pink and glossy.
"She's so beautiful. Her face is as perfect as her body."
"She's a goddess."
Sam and Tom both had the same reaction.
That girl should have a pure personality, he thought. If she wasn't pure, then who was?
'Let's see. Activate <Appraisal>.'
<Appraisal> worked even if it was far away. As the <Appraisal> was activated, her information appeared.
