The sea king got extremely lucky and swam away from the place, leaving Arwol alone.
But right now Arwol was too busy to even think anything straight.
He had encountered an unprecedented phenomenon.
"What in the fucking glorious hell is this deep shit now!?"
A blue colored panel screen appeared in front of him with congratulatory note.
[Congratulation. You have become the host of Greatest Pirate System. You can begun your journey and become the greatest pirate to have ever lived. Gol D. Roger? Rocks D. Xebec? Jack Sparrow? Nah, you will be greater and more famous than any of them!]
"..."
[Right now you are just a noob. But fret not! You need to just follow and complete the missions to reach the legendary status.]
"..."
"Have I finally gone mad? Am I an idiot right now!?"
Arwol was a marine... and the system was asking him to be a pirate! It was the greatest irony ever!
He considered this an extreme case of hallucination.
Raising his left hand and then right, he slapped himself once or twice after checking that the classic 'pinching' technique didn't work.
"Interesting..."
He was fully awake. The sort of hallucination or dreaming could be broken easily! But right now, the system screen continued to float.
This man, a marine, was not really a fan of any form of entertainment. Even with novels existing in this world about system and reincarnation, he was just not exposed to it.
So, what could he do? How could he understand?
By testing the waters himself!
He had no problem on muttering to himself till now, so why will he feel idiotic when he mutters to a screen?
"Hmm, but I'm a marine. I don't want to be a pirate. Is there any other option?"

This time the system was dumbfounded. Such a powerful helpful tool was in front of him and he was still wishing for something else?
Truly, this is human's nature. They are never satisfied with whatever they have.
Arwol was not so different. However, has he proceeded to think more on the matter, he realized a few things...
First, the system wanted to make him the greatest pirate. This meant, any other competition on his way would be eliminated.
Second, he could probably fix his life with the help of the system.
And thirdly, he could attain a very powerful position and even perhaps, take revenge some day.
"Okay, wait, do tell me... what are you exactly? An instrument? Some device or-"
"No, scratch that. Let's say you are a devil... then does that mean, uou can provide me with immense power?"
[Affirmative.]
"Great! Then tell me, what powers-"
He was excited and wanted to know about these superpowers that he got! He had heard a lot and had seen a few times, the power of haki, devil fruits and what not!? Sadly, he was never the one to possess.
He was never a main character... that is until now. So he was excited, but before he could get to know... a massive whirlpool started to develop.
Huh!?
As he looked towards his left and tight, he noticed not one, not two... but a total of 8 sea kings that had appeared and were encircling him.
Since his vision had cleared, he was left dumbfounded. But it was only then he realized that what he had tried to intimidate and chase earlier.
"It was a sea king...?", and just when he had muttered this under his breath, the whirlpool pulled the wooden dingy inside along with him.
"Aaarrrghhh!!!"
As the saying goes, if a good thing comes to you, be prepared for a disaster as well.
