Chapter 193: More Than An Employer

The sun streamed gently through the dining window as Jessica and Emily sat down at the breakfast table, the smell of warm coffee and fresh toast filling the air.

Damon was already seated, beside him Lilian smiled warmly at Jessica as she poured herself a cup of tea.

"Did you sleep well, Jessica?" Lilian asked, her eyes twinkling with a kindness that surprised Jessica.

Jessica smiled, taking a sip of her orange juice which she took for Emily's benefit. "Yes, thank you, Lilian. I actually slept better than I expected. I hope you did too."

"Glad you did. And yes, I did. You won't believe I kept dreaming of that soap opera we watched last night. Can you believe the nerve of that man appearing in my dream? He kept chasing his ex-wife again after everything he put her through!"

Jessica's lips curved into a smile, her eyes lighting up with amusement. It was obvious where Emily got her imaginative dreams from.
