Chapter 67: Stay Still

After Hunter finished preparing the heart-shaped sandwich, he carefully arranged the slices on a plate and then added a couple of hard-boiled eggs. The effort he put into breakfast was evident, and he hoped Delilah would appreciate it, even if she wouldn't admit it.

He carried the plates to the dining table, setting everything up neatly. After a quick glance at his watch, he realized he needed to get ready for work.

He cleaned up the kitchen quickly, his movements efficient and precise. Delilah's words echoed in his mind, but he pushed them aside, determined to see his plan through.

As he headed for his bedroom, he could hear Delilah moving around in her room, the impatient click of her heels against the tiled floor letting him know she wouldn't mind leaving him if he wasn't ready by the time she stepped out of the room.
