Chapter 31: Get Out

Delilah glared at him, "Don't be ridiculous," she snapped, her voice tight.

"Ridiculous?" he echoed, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Is that what you call this?"

Before she could respond, he leaned closer, his hand reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from her face. His touch, feather-light, sent a jolt through her.

"The only thing ridiculous, love," he murmured, his breath warm against her ear, "is the way I'm aching to make love to you right here, right now."

The world seemed to tilt on its axis. Delilah's gasp was loud and outraged. Her foot instinctively slammed on the brake pedal, causing the car to jerk to a sudden stop.

The screech of tires and the blaring horns of angry drivers filled the air, but their angry shouts were drowned out by the pounding of her heart as she ignored them and turned to Hunter, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Are you crazy?" she demanded, her voice shaking with fury.
