Chapter 27: The Distant Visitor

Before classes resumed, a muscular man in a black coat, undeterred by the heat, approached the school. Since the guard had already allowed him in, he walked down the hallway without hesitation.

As the girls looked at this man, they couldn't help but follow and get excited, while the boys were annoyed by the scandalous atmosphere.

"Does that ridiculous man see anything with those sunglasses in the damn shade?!"

Opening the door to the teacher's lounge, the teacher was surprised to see this man.

"Hello, is Gerardo here?"

With a knock on the open door, all the teachers taking a morning break stared at him.

Even the married female teachers began to whisper to each other, seeing such a visually attractive man.

Gerardo slapped his face and felt the need to avoid meeting this guy.

"Gerardo, someone is looking for you," said an intrusive teacher. She was Jonathan's class teacher.

"Here…" Gerardo stood up.

"Long time, no see, Gerardo." The handsome man smiled at seeing his friend.

"Let's talk outside, idiot."

Gerardo pulled the 'idiot' outside, and the two talked near the field, under a tree. Although many could see them, no one could hear them.

"Didn't I say after school? But seeing how dumb you are, it seems you never experienced school to know when it ends."

"Stop bullying me, Gerardo. I just wanted to see you like old times. Don't you want to hug me?" The man opened his arms, ready to hug Gerardo, but Gerardo pushed him away.

"Stop it, Goto. I don't want my students to think I'm gay. And even if I were, I wouldn't want them to find out, especially not with someone I have a close relationship with."

The man Gerardo called Goto let his arms drop and mocked him. "Still the tough veteran. Unbelievable, ha, ha, ha."

"But I won't kill you, since you're an incredible boogeyman. So tell me, what should I do?" Goto asked, completely intrigued.

"Just tell me, what's the real reason you came early?" Gerardo asked, interested in what this woman was up to.

Goto stopped laughing but, with a slight smile, said, "You received the report, right? Even though you're retired from the organization, you were sent here to teach and find the demon that massacred the gangs. We have information that it's here, and I was sent to kill it."

"No matter how many times I mentioned it, you've never taken a job seriously, huh... Besides, I think this time you won't be facing a low-class superhuman like before."

"You know I hate the outdoors; sunlight is my worst enemy, so don't lecture me, old retiree," Goto said, lighting a cigarette.

"You hate sunlight, but couldn't wait until the target left the school? What's the point of that?"

"Alright, alright. I really want to meet this famous killer, the mythical young man who killed drugged-up superhumans with high power. I want to prove to our boss that I can handle cases above my level and get a high rank in the process."

"I knew it." Gerardo then sighed. But soon he nodded and said, "Fine, later I'll talk to him about something to make him stay late. That'll be your moment; don't involve me any further in this."

Goto grinned widely and asked, "About your dreams, have you seen anything that can tell me the outcome?"

"You're really an idiot; if I could see that far into the future, I'd be your boss right now. The more I look, the blurrier it is, and you know I only have some recollections. Right now, I can only see his strength."

"Yeah, I forgot. That's why the boss sent you first, huh?"

Gerardo nodded. "But even though I have some ideas about him, I can't see any distant future, only the immediate ones."

"What? Has that ever happened before?"

"I don't know; maybe it's due to his fake personality?"

"Maybe…"

They continued talking until it was time for Gerardo to return. Goto then left.

"So I'll count on you to lure him. It's better at night; remember that. We must make him pay for hindering our experiments."

Gerardo simply waved his hand, and before entering his class, he luckily met the previous teacher.

The day continued until lunchtime. But before Jonathan could leave, his last teacher of the morning called him.

"Jonathan, Mr. Gerardo said he needs to talk to you after school this afternoon. I'll meet you with him in the teachers' lounge later, okay?"

"Alright, teacher."

Stealthily, Yina continued to follow Jonathan, and since he couldn't say no, they ate together.

Yina, extremely curious, asked, "What did the teacher tell you?"

"He just relayed a message that Gerardo wants to talk to me about something."

"Something…?" Yina trembled slightly.

While Yina panicked inside, Jonathan thought to himself, 'Why does she keep following me? It doesn't bother me; in fact, I like it, but I don't understand it either. She reminds me of a hamster I had—too bad it got crushed to death.'

After the lunch break, classes resumed. This time, not only Nick but even Yina were frowning.

So when class ended, Yina asked, "Can I go?"

"Huh? Mr. Gerardo only needs to talk to me. But if you want, you can wait for me." Jonathan now thought about many things regarding his friendship with Yina, and none of them were good.

"Nick, it'll take a while until I can hear what you have to say. Let's talk about it tomorrow."

'Will I have to go through anxiety for another day!?'

Nick shook his head. "Umm, I think I'll wait with Yina; I'll transfer schools after today."

When he said that, he saw Yina's eyes narrow, which gave him chills.

"Hm… Okay." Jonathan nodded; it didn't seem to matter to him.

When the three of them went to the teachers' lounge, they met Alicia before she asked, "Jonathan, where are you going?"

"Jonathan wants to talk to me about something."

"What about them?" Alicia looked at the two kittens following Jonathan like pets.

"They want to wait for me."

"Oh… Then I'll wait for you too!"

"Huh?" Jonathan raised an eyebrow; now he was annoyed.

"Why?" Yina asked with a solemn expression.

"For nothing, what about you?"

'That clingy muse, daughter of a bitch...'

Thus, four students went to the teachers' lounge, attracting the attention of many along the way.

Upon arriving at the teachers' lounge, Jonathan looked at the teacher and asked, "Hello, Sir Gerardo, what did you want to talk about?"

"Hm… I see you're very inactive at school. So, as your humanities teacher, I want to know why."

Gerardo started spouting nonsense to pass the time.

Jonathan frowned more and more, growing impatient and soon realizing what was going on. 'Who would have thought? The incredible humanities teacher is really one of them; should I kill him here and now? Hmm, I wonder what their intentions are.'
