Chapter 137: 136. A New Puddle
Sora formed a large Rasengan in front of his face with both hands.
Just as Roshi reached him, he aimed a powerful kick at Sora's waist with all his momentum.
His leg met a sword.
Sasuke had split the legendary two-handed sword into two one-handed blades, both crackling with blue lightning, clashing against the malevolent chakra of the Sanbi.
In this deadlock, Yagura began forming a Tailed Beast Bomb in front of his mouth while using his staff to swat away Sasuke's other hand, which slashed toward him.
Just as Yagura was about to complete the Bomb, purple lightning erupted from the ground, suppressing the Tailed Beast's chakra almost entirely, forcing Yagura to abort the plan and increase his chakra unless he wanted his limbs sliced off by one of Mist's own swords.
He growled, glaring at Kakashi, but it was a bad decision. The massive Rasengan Sora had formed earlier now slammed directly into Yagura's face.
The force sent him flying like a rag doll, his momentum carrying him far. His head was nearly crushed as he activated his final mode.
In mid-air, Yagura used his chakra tail to smash into the ground, changing his trajectory just in time to avoid a wave of lava that passed at his previous altitude.
As soon as he landed, he charged up for another Tailed Beast Bomb. With no one close enough to stop him, everyone prepared to flicker out of the way.
The Tailed Beast Bomb was launched, aimed directly at Sora, who had already flickered out of range.
The dense chakra collided with the chakra wall of the barrier. The barrier shattered in an instant, and the bomb was unleashed on a section of the village.
However, Mangetsu was present to handle the collateral damage. He swung *Kabutowari*, the metal head of the legendary axe clashing with the Bijū Dama.
Mangetsu deflected the Tailed Beast Bomb into the sky, where it exploded just like the last one.
Truly worthy of being called an S-rank ninja capable of wielding any of the Seven Ninja Swords.
Even Ao was shocked that *Kabutowari* could be used to deflect a Tailed Beast Bomb.
Meanwhile, Mei was clashing with Yagura in taijutsu, throwing in some ninjutsu while Yagura continued his methodical attacks.
"NOW!" Zabuza shouted. In an instant, a seal appeared on the ground, causing Yagura to lose control over the Sanbi's chakra.
It was the grandmasters at work.
This seal would make it harder for Yagura to control his Tailed Beast's chakra.
What's weaker than a perfect Jinchūriki?
A non-perfect Jinchūriki.
Yagura's moves, once rational, were now becoming more beastly.
He was more predictable than before.
Yagura attempted to form another Tailed Beast Bomb, but midway, Sasuke aimed a Chidori Stream at him.
Yagura dodged, but it turned out to be a mistake.
Kakashi appeared from behind, wielding one part of *Hiramekarei*, which he had taken from Sasuke during the fight.
Yagura was caught off guard as *Hiramekarei* slashed his right arm. Blood was sprayed from the wound.
He was second too late to increase his chakra concentration there, and his hand was chopped off.
However, the bleeding stopped quickly as the stump sealed itself, but now Yagura only had one functional hand, a significant advantage for the rebellion.
Kakashi, Sasuke, and Zabuza clashed in close combat with Yagura, but he still managed to hold his ground, matching them for the most part.
Mei and Sora's long-range jutsu added pressure, creating openings, but none were substantial enough to turn the tide.
Sasuke parried Yagura's legs with his sword, but the force of the kick loosened his grip, causing him to drop the blade.
Yagura seized the opportunity, pouncing on the red-eyed Uchiha.
However, Sasuke smirked just as Yagura's claw was an inch away from his face, leaving Yagura momentarily confused.
Out of control of his own body, Yagura realized too late what was happening—a Rasengan drilled through his head, leaving a hole in his forehead.
Sasuke ducked as *Hiramekarei* pierced through Yagura's heart.
The Tailed Beast's chakra exploded at the point of contact, forcing Sasuke to flicker backwards, leaving *Hiramekarei* embedded in Yagura's body.
Slowly, the chakra dissipated and eventually vanished altogether.
Yagura was dead.
The Fourth Mizukage was finally dead.
"So, will I be remembered as the guy who technically killed the Fourth Mizukage?" Sora asked the group present.
"Hey! We were also here!" Mei protested.
"Hmm, well, I got the killing blow, so I should be remembered. Maybe something like, 'Mizukage slain by Sora Uzumaki and the rebellion's efforts, bringing peace to Kiri,' or something," Sora mused.
Sasuke sighed. "I also technically had a hand in this. I took out his heart. We don't know for sure if a Jinchūriki dies just from a hole in the head," he chimed in, joining the banter.
"Hmph, they definitely do! Otherwise, how could he have missed hitting you?" Sora retorted.
Kakashi sighed and joined Zabuza to ensure Yagura's body was sealed.
They didn't want any surprises—like Yagura suddenly waking up and killing someone in a sneak attack.
That would be too predictable and a cliché death.
The Mizukage's body was properly sealed, and the current Mizukage faction's members were either imprisoned or executed on the spot.
The rebels were unsure whether Yagura had been controlled or not, but the others certainly weren't and deserved their fate for supporting the cruel policies against bloodline holders.
When it came to producing high-quality ninjas, after Konoha, Kiri stood second.
"Damn, what a drag. Why did we have to deal with civilians?" Shikamaru grumbled, flopping onto the bed.
His day had been rough; civilians were anything but reasonable.
To them, killing the Mizukage was a delusional idea.
Well, they'd come to terms with reality sooner or later.
It is what it is.
"I am never doing this type of thing again," Ino rolled her eyes.
She might be reconsidering becoming a part-time psychologist. She really didn't want to deal with the kinds of eccentric people she'd meet.
(A/N: Do you guys know any eccentric characters that leave you speechless or something? 🤔)
"I'm hungry," Choji chimed in, typically.
Meanwhile, elsewhere...
"Hey, Kakashi-sensei, what was that purple lightning? Was it a yin-perfect enhancement?" Sora asked once they were finally away from prying eyes and ears.
Kakashi had been pestered by Mei all day after the battle.
A meeting had been held to decide the next Mizukage, and Mei had been selected.
She wanted Kakashi to attend her inauguration in three days.
Kakashi flatly refused.
He was afraid he'd end up wearing a marriage coat and being announced as her husband.
Unfortunately, life didn't go his way.
Mei had already sent a message to Tsunade to form an alliance between Kiri and Konoha, and it had been agreed—well, more like Tsunade had accepted—that Kakashi would be the liaison.
This is similar to how Shikamaru was later chosen to be the liaison between Suna and Konoha in Shippuden.
Kakashi couldn't really protest when the message he received from the Hokage was something along the lines of: "You were involved, it benefited the village, so you get the freedom to be the liaison and handle it however you see fit."
"Well, something along those lines. I was able to create it recently. It's a good replacement for Chidori since I don't need to rely on the Sharingan. It has its own pros and cons, different from Chidori," Kakashi sighed.
"Oh, cool! Can Sasuke do it too?"
"Not yet. Maybe in the future, but I doubt he'll use it often. His combat style is built around Chidori."
"I see... So, do you think I could learn it? It looked so cool!" Sora asked, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
"Probably not, or at least not anytime soon. It would likely take you a few years."
Sora sighed. His dreams of looking cool were already crushed before they could even be born. It seemed Shikamaru's statement about people like them not being able to be cool was right. Maybe Uzumakis just wasn't meant to be cool after all.
"Maybe we could work on some Yin or Yang enhancement for Water-Release Jutsus. You should keep focusing on your water nature transformation," Kakashi suggested, trying to lift his spirits.
"Yeah, great idea! I can definitely work on that!" Sora's mood instantly brightened.
