Chapter 20: Date (1)

In a bustling city, amidst the hustle and bustle, Noah was choosing a mission at the mercenary guild. As he was deep in thought thinking about the mission he would take, a gentle voice called out to him.

"Naoh, do you have time?"

Noah turned his head and saw a familiar figure from a week ago, Kanata. At that time, Kanata was wearing an elegant purple dress, a wide-brimmed hat covering most of her face, leaving only her flowing blonde hair. Even from a distance, Kanata's beauty radiated, attracting the attention of many people around them.

"Yes, what is it?" Noah replied casually.

"How about we have dinner together?" Kanata offered, tucking her hair behind her ear, a seemingly seductive gesture.

"Of course, it would be an honor to have dinner with my lady," Noah replied in a formal tone, the etiquette of nobility ingrained in him. As a prince, norms and manners were things that could not be ignored.

"Ara… You know how to please women, I just don't know how many women you have seduced," Kanata laughed, covering her mouth with her hand to hide the smile on her lips.

With steady steps, they walked towards a fancy restaurant in the city center, a place where couples usually went on dates. This was Noah's first time having dinner with a woman other than his family. In his mind, this was his first date after two lives.

After ordering their food, they started chatting. As a prince and a prominent family, they had extensive knowledge. Their conversation flowed naturally, from one topic to another, and before they knew it, their relationship grew closer.

"By the way, Noah, can you help me?" Kanata asked when they finished dinner.

"What is it?" Noah asked, a little confused.

"Can you accompany me on some missions?" Kanata explained seriously.

"Of course. Going on missions with a beautiful woman is a blessing," Noah replied with a smile.

"You have a sweet mouth," Kanata replied in a cheerful tone. Every woman would be happy to be complimented on her beauty, and Kanata was no exception.

"Well then, see you in three days," Kanata said as she said goodbye.

"Okay, see you later," Noah replied as he waved his hand, his feelings mixed between happiness and anxiety as he waited for their next meeting.

Three days later, Noah waited inside the Mercenary Guild. The atmosphere in the guild was quite lively, but in the corner of the room, he felt strange. He felt as if all eyes were on him. When Kanata appeared, her smile immediately caught his attention.

"Have you been waiting long?" Kanata asked when she saw Noah sitting alone.

"Not long, then let's go," Noah replied enthusiastically.

"Okay," Kanata agreed quickly.

Their mission this time was to investigate and destroy a slave trading organization. Even though it was modern times, slave trading still often occurred in various places. Many dark organizations used humans as experimental materials or trained them to become assassins.

The mission location was in a small village near a river. After killing the guard on the top floor of a building that looked ordinary from the outside, they entered the basement. There, they found many people imprisoned. These slaves came from various ethnicities, and some had hopeful looks when they saw Noah and Kanata, while some had numb looks.

"Enemy..." ...Splash...

Without waiting for the guards to finish speaking, Noah and Kanata attacked. In an instant, the guards were killed.

"Hmm... So weak, just a D-rank blazer," Kanata said, swinging her sword nimbly.

"This is a small organization after all. There's no way there's a strong blazer here," Noah replied with a shrug.

"Never mind, let's free these slaves and go back," Kanata decided after making sure none of the guards had escaped.

"Sure," Noah replied.

Their first mission ended successfully. From then on, Noah and Kanata often went on missions together. Every time they completed a mission, they would have dinner at the same fancy restaurant, sharing stories and laughter.

As time went by, their relationship grew closer, as if they were lovers. However, there was one thing that was bothering them. Both of them felt a deeper attraction to each other, but neither had dared to take the step to break that barrier.

One night, after they had completed a fairly dangerous mission, Kanata invited Noah to dinner at her house. As they sat at the beautifully decorated dining table, the atmosphere felt more intimate.

After spending time together, their relationship became as close as a couple, although neither had managed to penetrate the last layer of paper in their relationship.

During their time together, Kanata also learned Noah's real name. At that time, he was shocked speechless, because he didn't expect a prince to be a mercenary.

"Noah, I want to know more about you. Why did you choose to become a mercenary?" Kanata asked, his voice soft but full of curiosity.

Noah was silent for a moment, his thoughts returning to the past. "Because I wanted to see the outside world and hone my skills."

Kanata looked at Noah. "I understand. Sometimes, we have to find our own way."

Noah smiled, feeling connected to Kanata more than ever. "What about you? Why did you choose this path?"

"There are many dark organizations that pose a threat to the Totokubara family business," Kanata answered, introducing her reasons. They chatted for a while before parting.
