Natsuo lowered his head slightly and walked through the streets of Konoha with a gloomy expression.
It has been nine years since Natsuo came to this world and five years since he arrived in Konoha.
In these nine years, Natsuo's initial excitement has turned into deep resentment.
As the villagers who mocked him said, Uchiha blood flows in Natsuo's veins.
However, the Uchiha clan does not acknowledge Natsuo.
To maintain the purity of their bloodline, the Uchiha clan insists on marrying within their clan.
But Natsuo's parents did not follow this rule.
Natsuo's mother was an Uchiha, and his father was from the Senju clan, which made Natsuo a mix of the two bloodlines.
If Natsuo's father had been an ordinary person, his life might not have been so miserable, and perhaps the Uchiha clan would have accepted him.
But Natsuo's father was a Senju, a member of the Uchiha clan's sworn enemies.
When Natsuo's mother became pregnant with him, the Uchiha clan's leader and elders discovered it. They immediately confined Natsuo's mother and demanded that she abort the child.
Learning of this, Natsuo's father infiltrated the Uchiha territory, rescued Natsuo's mother, and fled Konoha with her.
Naturally, the Uchiha clan could not allow their blood to leave unchecked, so they reported the matter to the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen.
Sarutobi Hiruzen declared Natsuo's parents to be traitors and dispatched Anbu to hunt them down.
Natsuo's parents managed to evade capture and lived in seclusion in a small village without ninjas. After Natsuo was born, they enjoyed four peaceful years together—the happiest years of Natsuo's life.
But their peace was shattered.
A pack of powerful beasts invaded the village. In a place without ninjas, no one could fend off such a threat.
Forced to reveal her Sharingan, Natsuo's mother, alongside Natsuo's father, managed to drive off the beasts.
However, their display of power drew unwanted attention.
Ninjas, like vultures sensing a meal, converged on Natsuo's mother, aiming to seize her Sharingan.
In the ensuing battle, Natsuo's father died protecting him and his mother.
Gravely injured, Natsuo's mother sent him to Konoha, pleading for his safety.
Sarutobi Hiruzen agreed to Natsuo's mother's request.
Despite declaring them traitors, Natsuo's parents had not harmed Konoha. Moreover, with both Uchiha and Senju blood in Natsuo, his potential to awaken significant abilities made him an asset Konoha could not afford to lose.
Thus, Natsuo was brought to Konoha.
Hiruzen sent Natsuo to the Uchiha clan, asking if they would accept him and acknowledge him as Uchiha.
The Uchiha clan, however, refused to recognize him.
Konoha then provided Natsuo with a dilapidated house, and no one took care of him afterward.
Natsuo was indifferent to this rejection.
He understood the deep-seated conflict between the Uchiha and Senju clans. With Senju blood in his veins, it was only natural for the Uchiha clan to reject him.
Initially, unaware of his parents' status as Konoha's traitors, Natsuo believed everything would be fine once he reached Konoha.
He naively hoped for a new, peaceful life, thinking that as long as he avoided entanglements with Jinchūriki, the villagers would be friendly.
But Natsuo's hopes were shattered.
Almost all the villagers despised him.
In time, Natsuo understood why the people of Konoha Village hated him.
First, his parents were declared traitors.
Second, the Uchiha clan's role in Konoha, specifically the Konoha police force, fostered deep resentment.
At this time, the Uchiha clan's influence and authority, particularly through the police force, were at their peak.
The Konoha police force was tasked with maintaining peace and order within the village, enforcing regulations, and arresting those with criminal tendencies.
The Uchiha, wielding this power, would arrest anyone who spoke ill of them.
This arrogance bred deep hostility among the villagers.
But, fearing the powerful Uchiha clan, the villagers' resentment was redirected towards Natsuo, a child with Uchiha blood but without even a surname.
Natsuo was not like Naruto; he did not possess Naruto's boundless kindness.
Five years in such an environment would break even the most optimistic spirit.
Natsuo could not understand how Naruto, raised in similar conditions, could choose to forgive.
It wasn't just the villagers; even Sarutobi Hiruzen was not as kind or benevolent as Natsuo had once believed.
In the five years Natsuo had been in Konoha, he often saw Hiruzen witnessing his mistreatment by the villagers. Yet, Hiruzen would merely glance at him and walk away, as if seeing nothing.
Over time, Natsuo became convinced that Hiruzen's kindness was a façade.
Konoha had become a prison for Natsuo.
But Natsuo could not escape this prison.
Konoha would not allow him to leave, and even if he did manage to escape, he had no means to protect himself.
Despite his disillusionment, Konoha was the safest place for Natsuo at the moment.
But Natsuo was confident that he could change his fate.
His confidence did not stem from his Uchiha or Senju blood.
With only half of each bloodline, he might never awaken the Sharingan or the Wood Style abilities.
Natsuo's hope lay in a system he called "Witness."
This system rewarded him with witness points for observing significant events.
However, to activate the system, he needed 100 witness points.
In the past five years, Natsuo had only accumulated 50 of these points.
This progress was thanks to his enrollment in the Ninja Academy three years ago, where witnessing Namikaze Minato's entry earned him 50 points.
Since then, Natsuo struggled to gain more points.
His ambiguous status in Konoha prevented him from encountering other notable events.
Moreover, it was a time of peace, far removed from the Third Shinobi World War, leaving few opportunities for Natsuo to earn more witness points.
However, an opportunity was on the horizon: Uzumaki Kushina's upcoming arrival and transfer to the Ninja Academy.
By witnessing Uzumaki Kushina's enrollment, Natsuo hoped to gain the remaining 50 points needed to activate his system.
