The Treasure of Reverse Mountain

"Oh?"

"A treasure map?"

He took a roll of parchment from Blueno's hand and spread it out on his desk.

In the dim light.

A crude nautical chart came into view.

Treasure maps about gold treasures were very popular on the seas, but this was the first time Roy had seen a map related to a Devil Fruit.

Crooked lines represented various sea routes.

And these fine lines ultimately pointed to a seemingly endless mountain peak and a slide-like current.

This familiar scene made Roy pause slightly.

After all, in the entire pirate world, the only place that could present a slide-like current was the Twin Capes of Reverse Mountain.

"Could it be that the so-called treasure is hidden in the Twin Capes?"

Thinking about that towering, cloud-piercing mountain with its rapid current.

He picked up the parchment on the table and couldn't help but wonder if this was a bad joke.

After all, the danger of the Twin Capes was well-known.

Reaching the Grand Line by following the currents of the four seas was already very difficult.

And looking at the clues recorded on this parchment, the so-called treasure was actually hidden in the channel on the Grand Line side of the Twin Capes.

No wonder this treasure map looked so dirty.

Even if someone got hold of this treasure map, they probably wouldn't really believe that the treasure existed, right?

Just as Roy was about to casually throw away this map related to the Devil Fruit.

Blueno happened to say, "Lord Roy, based on the information we just interrogated, the reason the Great Sword Pirates have been lingering in the first half of the Grand Line all these years is for this treasure map. According to several core members of the crew, this map was once a family heirloom of the Bambina family. It was lost due to a commotion and only recovered about half a month ago."

The motion of Roy preparing to throw away the parchment paused after hearing Blueno's words, and then he retrieved it.

He spread the parchment out on the table again.

This time, Roy picked up the oil lamp beside the table and carefully examined the lines on the treasure map once more.

"Something that could make a pirate with nearly a 100 million in bounty linger in the first half of the Grand Line for so long shouldn't be a bad joke!"

He rubbed his fingers over the texture of the map, looking at the blood-like stains on it.

Jaya Island wasn't too close to the Twin Capes.

And the value of a Devil Fruit worth several hundred million berries was indeed worth a special trip.

But the only thing Roy was unsure about now was whether this treasure map was genuine or not.

Watching Roy carefully studying the map, Blueno, possibly trying to please his powerful superior who had just helped cover up for Owl's mistake, couldn't help but chime in.

"Lord Roy, based on my judgment, this treasure map is at least one or two hundred years old. It has been preserved until now, and although it looks dirty, it is structurally intact. I think it might be real."

Blueno's answer made Roy's eyes light up.

".....Yes, how could I forget that part of CP9's daily training involves the study of archaeology?"

Hearing Blueno's response and confirming that this treasure map was indeed an antique, Roy immediately decided to take Bruno to the Twin Capes of Reverse Mountain.

After all, all the goods that had been robbed were now completely recovered.

According to his previous plan with Spandam, as long as the goods were transported back to Enies Lobby, the remaining matters could be left to Spandam.

If the treasure map was genuine, Roy could make a huge profit, and he might even get a powerful Devil Fruit for himself.

And if the treasure map was fake, the trip could just be considered a vacation.

With Blueno, a user of the Door-Door Fruit, it shouldn't be too much trouble to take a trip inside the Twin Capes.

Roy was a man of action. The order to split into two groups was quickly conveyed.

After the agents killed another wave of pirates in demon valley town who were looking to loot, they got in two bloodstained ships heading back to Enies Lobby.

Roy and Blueno boarded the ship bound for Reverse Mountain.

Lying on the sunning deck, Roy and Bruno were genuinely treating this journey as a vacation.

"Sir, here's the orange juice you requested, 100% freshly squeezed, no added water as you specified."

The once arrogant pirate captain had now become a humble servant.

With cucumber slices on his face, Roy extended his left hand, and the juice was naturally handed to him.

Don't ask how Roy managed to do this.

If you really want to ask, it's because Roy gave these pirates a heartfelt lesson.

"Edwards, how far are we from Whiskey Peak now?"

Sipping the juice, Roy found the taste quite satisfactory.

"Sir, according to the sea chart and the fact that we just passed Little Garden, we should reach Whiskey Peak tonight."

The over two-meter-tall mohawked brute now looked extremely humble.

Waving his hand, he dismissed the humble pirate brute.

"Hey, Blueno, have you been slacking off in your ability training these past few days? I'm completely counting on your ability for this treasure hunt!"

Drinking down most of the juice in one gulp, Roy asked the resting Blueno beside him.

Although Roy had been training Blueno intensively every night for the past week, the closer they got to Reverse Mountain, the more uneasy Roy felt.

After all, it was a massive current that gathered the power of the four seas, capable of smashing ships to pieces in an instant.

Even though Roy was confident in his physical strength, he couldn't help but worry when facing the forces of nature.

"Don't worry, sir! While my strength isn't as great as Lucci's, opening a few doors from a distance is something I can definitely manage."

Understanding his superior's concerns, Blueno reassured him.

He was also somewhat intimidated by the impending arrival at Reverse Mountain.

Night quickly devoured the day, as the last trace of sunset was swallowed by darkness.

Roy and his group had already reached the island closest to Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak.

However, they didn't stop to rest. The Rooster Pirate's ship bypassed Whiskey Peak and quickly headed towards Reverse Mountain.

With the ship's swift progress, a shadow that seemed to block the sky suddenly appeared before Roy.
