Chapter 2: System
[Mind System Unlocked]
Gin stared silently at the floating window just a few feet from his face.
"What could this be?" He had never heard of such a thing before. A Mind System? What the heck was that.
Some Enhancers could unlock special traits or abilities unique to them but this was different.
"I have never read about this before and I spent many many hours reading just about everything to do with Enhancers." Gin was in shock.
He started to think about the Top Enhancers, like Lightning Lion or the Amazoness. Nothing in their biographys had something like this?! He got excited just at the thought.
[Say Stats to open stat window]
"Stats" feeling crazy even saying it outloud.
*WOOSH*
A window appeared before Gin.
[Name: Gin]
[Race: Human]
[Stats:]
[Mind : 5]
[Body : 3]
[Focus: 10]
[Techniques: none]
"The stats are self explanatory except for Focus? Maybe it has something to do with absorption. I'll need to increase my stats to see if this is even legit." He thought.
Gin spent another few minutes before reaching 10 energy.
[Ding]
[10 Energy reached: Store Function unlocked]
"Store?" He was incredibly excited at the thought and couldn't wipe the smirk off his face.
A store screen opened up. 2 categories at the top, buy and sell.
"Lets see what we got.." Gins focus intensified. The panel would feel nervous if he was a shop owner receiving that gaze. Gin made some weird faces at times whenever money was involved.
[Item: Snow Grass] (50 energy)
[Item: Crystal water] (10 energy)
[Item: Diamond feathers] (150 energy)
"Only 3 items huh? The snow grass doubles absorption rate for anyone under 1000 energy. The crystal water has random effects like strengthening or even going invisible. Diamond feathers allows one to fly for 10 minutes." Gin was truly shocked.
Each of these items were incredible and very hard to acquire. But what was this?
"The system wants my energy for the items?! The items are incredible but its a hard buy. I almost want to cry." He thought not knowing whether to smile or be sad.
"Close" with that all the windows shut.
1 hour had passed since Gin came back home. 4 hours left in the day.
"I need to hurry to the forest and attempt to acquire some techniques. Luckily military bootcamp gave us katanas as a gift for graduating." He pulled out the bright long silver looking Katana. Hand crafted and beautifully well done with a red handle and black laces lining the grip. He sheathed it and put the sword behind his back around the waist. It fit very well.
Gin was 6 ft 2 tall with sharp blue eyes and bright white hair. He wore a blue robe with a white and black shirt. He wore classic red sandals. They fit very tight on his feet.
He finished getting ready and heading out of his apartment.
The street was bustling with people going back and forth. There was even an enhancer flying over head.
"Awesome" Gin thought to himself and quickly headed in the direction of the walls entrance.
Now his goal was to find the prismatic snail and according to his search, it was about 5 miles out in the forest where one was last seen. There was no guarantee he could even find one.

Gins eyes widened in shock. He gasped out loud! In just 1 day he could rise to the top of the rankings, that was insane.
After the panel closed, Gins mind was dead set on finding that snail.
He quickly stopped by a store and bought the essential tools and camping items incase things went sideways and he was unable to make it back before sunset.
Gin arrived at the entrance where a line was formed for those leaving and entering. He stood behind a girl who was stunning just to look at.
She had long black hair and purple eyes, her skin was smooth like oil and her beauty unmatched. Enhancers were truly different.
"Do you mind?!" She turned around with an attitude, I can feel you staring a hole into my back.
Now he had only stared for less than 2 seconds, what a truly stuck up woman.
Before he could respond a fat short guy quickly hobbled over bowing his head many times while apologizing.
"My name is little fan, I apologize for staring at this beauty but I run a local magazine and wanted to know if you would like to be in it! I noticed this young mans appearance as well and thought you two might be a couple."
Little fan exclaimed without a hint of shame while quickly winking in secret at Gin behind him.
Gin was speechless. "Why did he drag me into this.."
"My name is Xi, and I am sorry Gin for the confusion." She said while blushing.
Then just as quickly as she blushed at Gin, she gave an annoyed look at little fan then turned back around appearing to not pay him any more mind.
"Big Brother what do you seek beyond the wall? Maybe I know something and we can help each other out". Little fan said quickly after Xi turned around.
"Sorry I can't help, maybe later. I'm in a rush before the sun sets." Gin responded truthfully. A 5 mile hike would take at least an hour.
"Maybe I know, try me" little fan pushed.
"The prismatic snail" he responded.
"Ohh, I did over hear chatter from people walking buy that they saw one 5 miles out" little fan responded.
"I already knew that but thank you. How about this? Could I add you on link chat incase you hear anything else. I'll pay for good information."
He thought carefully about little fan when he said this and even though he was a little weird with women, he seemed pretty trustworthy.
"Sure!" Little fan couldn't believe he found a customer. I try many things but they have never worked, perhaps I have a future in the community afterall he thought.
After exchanging details, Little fan left to find more info that he might be able to sell.
"Why was he in the line?" Gin thought, shrugging the thought away after a moment since it didn't matter now. Some people are weird he assumed.
"Next!" The patrol man yelled.
Gin stepped up.
"Show me your id and state your intentions"
Gin showed his id and said he was gonna explore. It wasn't a lie at all but Gin craftily covered over the real reason, prismatic snails were truly rare.
After glancing at the Id and back at Gin, he sized him up for a moment and then responded "Thank you for your service, you may go".
He thanked the Patrol man and quickly headed out the gate.
Ahead was a dense forest covered in pink and purple leaves. The time for opportunity was here.
Gin entered the forest...
