Chapter 1: Enhanced
In the year 7096, a foreign planet called Ku, discovered how to become an Enhancer. It is located millions of light years from earth. To travel here is to put everything on the line. Cryogenic sleep is the only way to get there, if you want to be alive on arrival that is.
There is a continent on Ku called Rax. This continent alone stretches for hundreds of thousands of miles. This planet inhabits many creatures varying all types and sizes. Labelled as a class E planet for danger. The danger ratings range from f, e, d, c, b, a, and finally S.
On the continent of Rax in a country known as the Moon, A boy named Gin, not even 20 walks outside a large blue glass building. What building is this? The headquarters of the federation. A large community of countries united that seeks to explore the unknown. People go here to register their arrival to Ku.
"So I'm finally here or should I say back?" Gin felt Intrigued with the new prospects of being on Ku after being away at a military boot camp for a year.
Large skyscrapers line the sky with many flying vehicles and a wall that stretches miles in height and half a mile in thickness.
This world seemed to awaken a persons potential and push them past their limits.
A person who did this was called Enhanced. By using energy they found surrounded them and pulling this energy inside to further strengthen either their mind or body, they were given the name Enhancers. People fell into 2 categories usually, the first was the Riser which were more rare, a mental type, and the 2nd was the Dominator, the physical type.
The Dominators belonged to the body enhancement category. Now certain rare individuals like 1 in a million could do both categories. These were geniuses.
They were very rare and feared by all.
Aside from categories, there were levels of energy. Since Enhancers were new, the highest achieved in Moon was about 100 in energy.
If a person could reach a 100 he was very well off at this point. How energy was gained was mainly through meditation. Methods for enhancing absorption rate had to do with consuming the right rare plants or finding a better technique. You could buy them but who would be willing to sell something so valuable to their own being?
Combat was a way to gain insights on executing energy techniques in new interesting ways. When beasts die they drop a memory that may provide a new way of using energy to enhance the user or even knowledge of plants or stronger beasts.
These beasts were also tiered by the energy they contained. Normal were under just 500 energy. A beast with a 501 to 1000 energy count is considered abnormal.
Now Gin lived in a part of Moon on the outskirts in a small apartment on the second floor by the wall. He lived very close to an entrance of the wall.
"I finally made it back safely home. Who would have thought it would take 3 hours to get home. They are just so far." Gin grimaced.
"Time to look up how to sense energy to become an enhanced and see what I can do. I need to become one to get more money so I can attend the Academy. Its always been my dream to go there." Gin felt hopeful.
The truth was that being an enhanced alone pushed you to the upper echelons of society. Using energy to strengthen yourself was just too good. Many had tried the genetic routes and died for it, their bodies were just not made for that.
Money mattered in this world and to climb to the top an Enhanced was the quickest and sure way. But how rare was being an enhanced in general? A normal enhanced was just 1 out of a 1000. Still a rare ideal indeed.
Gin was daydreaming again and snapped back into motion. He quickly searched the web for enhanced articles and found a sure method to try. The article expressed that if Gin listened to the sound played, it would unlock a part of his brain to pick up on the energies required to be an enhanced, that is if he was an Enhanced at all.
Gin clicked the article not wasting a single moment. "Such a rare chance to become Enhanced but I must give it my best shot."
Now many in the city also were searching and wanting to be Enhanced. Groups of enhanced would leave the city to hunt and come back in the evening. They made very good money and the higher the risk, the greater the reward.Gin couldn't wait to go past the wall himself while dreaming of bigger rewards.
"Okay so I focus on this sound and I should feel... *chime* woah what was that?" A vibration resonated suddenly from the inside of his head down to his feet. A comfortable feeling of energy spread through out his body. Gin could feel not just one but many energies surrounding him. He read the article further which advised him to try gathering first in the mind. He quickly pulled the energy to mind and it came with such ease!
Now finding multiple energies was already abnormal. The main one he seemed to notice at first was aer energy. It was everywhere. It had a white translucent hint to it. One could only see it through their ehc organ.
"This has to be very rare. I know mind type enhancers are extremely rare like 1 out of 10,000. I can't believe this is happening. Am I really a mind type? This is too awesome."
Indeed a mind type was phenomenal. It was already discovered they could move boulders that weighed a ton with just their mind. These people were at 100 energy. Such power at just the beginning! The only downside was how long they could use the power and if they even had the proper techniques to lift the boulder. That required telekinesis but such a technique was extremely rare and only dropped by if you would believe it, a snail. A prismatic colored snail. Very small and very rare to find.
"To get telekinesis I will need to find a prismatic snail but they are just too rare. The rumor is that they use telekinesis to move quickly. They acquired the technique after learning how to use the energy to escape predators."
Now when absorbing memories off a beast the odds were not in your favor. The techniques could be 1 out of a 10 or even a 100 depending on the rarity and age of the beast. The older the beast, the more likely the drop but also the more dangerous they were.
The only way to find certain beasts was to use the web and hope somebody was kind enough to share a ping or if Ai spotted something from a background of a video outside the wall. You could also hire others to find them for you or buy them on the black market if they were being sold at all. The last 2 options were not ideal for Gin since he was not made of money.
"I will look through the logs and maybe something will come up, I am just too poor to use the other methods."
Gin only had 15000 credits. You could buy at most a few months of rent with those amount of credits. Gin had saved his credits from boot camp for the year which paid extremely low. It was not something one volunteered to do. The credits he would need to hire a hunter and the duration of the hunt could far exceed his savings. Plus Gin was very frugal with money.
He decided for now he would gather energy to an amount of 10 and begin working on logs afterwards to track the prismatic snail.
He began to meditate in his small studio apartment. He sat on a flat bed mattress on the ground with blue sheets and 1 pillow. It was cool in the room and a dusty smell was prevalent. He was surrounded by 4 white walls and a black door. He had 1 window facing in the direction of the walls exit and could conveniently see who was coming or going.
Now the planet Rax had 2 moons and 1 sun. So the days were 1/3 daylight and 2/3 night time. The sun was very quick in orbit. The whole universe was strange and filled with mysteries.
The aer energy was very dense on Ku and based on ones absorption they could gain a crazy amount.
