Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Rising Through Archaeology

In a single battle, Rama won over the hearts of the warriors and seized control of the Tanit tribe.

Rama's effortless acquisition of power in Tanit was largely due to the desert's entrenched traditions.

The earliest desert monarchy was also established by King Deshret, but during his brief disappearance, Liloupar had already corrupted the desert's royal authority.

The "Mother of Jinn," deserving of her title as the true victor in the power arena, made Babel seem immature in comparison.

Subsequently, the desert lacked any formal power structure.

King Deshret personally unified the desert dwellers, marking the second unification of the desert.

However, during this period, King Deshret had grown disinterested in governance. His obsession with the Flower God led him to research the technology of resurrecting the dead.

The outcome was inevitable; he failed and left the desert contaminated.

Eventually realizing his own need to perish, he dragged Apep down with him.

While this partly resolved the pollution issue, the contamination already present needed addressing. Simply removing the source couldn't erase the pollution.

Utilizing Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's capabilities, he managed to propagate the false rumor that it was Greater Lord Rukkhadevata who assassinated King Deshret. This was likely due to his involvement in managing the desert's pollution and restoring his lost divine power.

This decision wasn't entirely wrong.

Once Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's strength returned, he had ample time to reestablish order in the desert, as both the rainforest and desert were under the Lord of the Grove's protection.

However, he did not anticipate that five hundred years later, another group would emerge to cause trouble. This time, he couldn't escape and had to leave Nahida behind to end his own existence.

Focusing on the outcome rather than the reasons, King Deshret left a mess for the desert dwellers.

Since King Deshret's complete demise, the desert has lacked a competent government.

Power struggles in this desert weren't exactly secret. If one displayed the ability to rise and provided benefits, people supported their ascent.

Despite the elders' efforts to preach law and order, it was futile.

The land was too barren, making it challenging to nurture noble virtues.

Betrayal and slaughter were commonplace in the desert; loyalty was a costly commodity few could afford.

These traditions made Rama's path to power smooth.

The Tanit tribe needed time to assimilate the spoils of war. This wasn't an end but a beginning.

Once they fully reaped the benefits of war, they would find it hard to resist further conflicts.

The temptation of overnight riches was irresistible to most, especially to mercenaries already engaged in pillaging.

But who could guarantee victory?

Certainly not the elders; they had to rely on Rama.

Thus, the transition of power in the tribe was completed smoothly.

The upper-tier elders couldn't contain Rama; they feared his abilities.

The middle-tier warriors desired victory and more resources, both of which Rama had proven he could deliver.

The lower-tier tribe members were simpler; they only wanted to eat their fill, caring little for who the elders or matriarchs were.

In these chaotic times, Rama's greatest talent was his ability to win.

And no one could resist this talent.

"You have achieved a simple yet efficient victory."

"You have led to a decisive victory through personal strength. Elemental power has gained 1000 points of proficiency in actual combat."

"You have created 101 war machines, array aircraft, and various mechanical creations, earning 2000 points of proficiency in mechanics."

Elemental power is the foundation of all Teyvat technology trees, but it can also be directly used in combat to increase proficiency.

Knowledge-based skills primarily gain experience by creating actual inventions.

"This is already a Level 3 knowledge-based creation. The first of its kind grants the most proficiency, and repeated creation only provides a minimum of 1 point."

When the skill reaches Level 4, lower-level mechanical creations no longer add any proficiency.

Creating similar inventions with the same knowledge points also does not grant the "first creation" proficiency bonus; more advanced technology is required to create newer inventions.

Rama had tried to bypass the system in the early stages but failed to outsmart it. He had yet to exploit any bugs within the system's rules.

Host: Rama

Profession: Scholar, Alchemist

Elemental Power: Level 4, 8642/10000 (You have become strong among mortals, but you know there are gods in this world.)

Knowledge: Level 4, 9987/10000 (You are accustomed to intense study, enough to quickly master most skills.)

Mechanics: Incomplete, Level 3, 9903/10000 (The desert lacks suitable soil for learning, except for the Scarlet King's technology, but you cannot touch its essence.)

Note: By using elemental science, you filled some gaps in the Scarlet King's technology. However, due to the lack of crucial forbidden knowledge, you cannot replicate higher-level Scarlet King technology. (Try something else; ordinary mechanics are also good.)

Biology: Level 3, 7794/10000 (You face a real choice. If you do not give up irrelevant compassion, long-term training will be your only path.)

Alchemy: Level 3, 765/10000 (You need more than repeated training to break through; you should find a teacher or at least obtain sufficient academic materials.)

"Robbery and arson bring wealth... To truly grow, large-scale wars are necessary."

Teyvat doesn't have many large-scale battles, but defeating creatures like Dvalin or Osial would also provide significant experience.

Rama pondered.

This was a major reason he decided to rebel.

Perhaps Teyvat was peaceful in the past, but as certain times approached, this world would become very chaotic.

He valued this opportunity and did not want to leave his fate to others.

So, Rama chose to stand up and take action.

This war was brief but exhausted all of Rama's previous savings.

His factory had completely shut down because Rama couldn't even supply energy anymore.

But these were minor issues.

Dori was already on her way. The news of victory could be exchanged for more chips, and those chips could buy more victories.

Rama was not worried about this issue.

Expecting Dori to help in a crisis was unlikely.

But if she could enhance his success, she was certainly capable.

Rama rubbed his chin. "Just this mechanics..."

He was so close; it was tantalizing.

He instinctively recalled the King Deshret ruins the Fatui had provided.

Most of the King Deshret ruins were hidden underground. Rama had researched many King Deshret ruins, but the locations the Fatui provided were ones he hadn't discovered.

Rama immediately set off.

He did not prepare much because the King Deshret ruins were key to his early rise.

Rising through archaeology.

Partly supported by King Deshret, partly by factories left by Khaenri'ah.

It was indeed an archaeological rise.
