Chapter 11:- Taking out the cancer
Akane bent slightly before headbutting the root shinobi that was behind her, and since she wore her headband like a hairband, just like Sakura, the shinobi got hit with the headband, temporarily getting stunned. When the shinobi in front turned around, she immediately kicked him in the balls, and he immediately fell to the ground, holding his crotch in excruciating pain. But unbeknownst to her, the first shinobi prepared to attack her from behind but was suddenly kicked on the head from behind.
"Looks like I didn't need to come." Kenshin smirked before turning his gaze to the shinobi who had become unconscious from the pain. "You crushed his... just how hard did you kick?!"
"I use the same training weights Lee-kun does. Just a bit lighter cause I don't train obsessively like him." Akane said as she lifted her leg warmers to show him the weights.
"Who the hell is this 'Lee-kun' you're talking about? You compared your taijutsu skills to him back on the hokage mountain as well." Kenshin asked, acting confused. Although he knew exactly who Lee was he felt that he should ask Akane to avoid confusion.
"Lee-kun is a taijutsu expert from my graduate class. He's the best taijutsu user of my generation even though he can't use ninjutsu. But enough about that, how come you're here, you little wuss?! I thought you got caught!" Akane said, punching him hard after he had freed her hands, sending him flying several metres.
"Is that how you treat the little brother that let himself get captured just so you could have a chance at escaping?!" Kenshin retorted, wiping the blood from his mouth. Kenshin shivered at the thought of how much power Akane's punches had. "Anyways, the one that got captured was a clone. Tsunade already sent others to arrest him. I've sent a couple of clones as well. But anyways, I'm sorry for not telling you anything." He said before hugging her tightly. Akane leaned into his embrace, before reluctantly letting go.
"We need to go to where Danzo is. He has several sharingan in his arm and he was Shisui Uchiha's mangekyo sharingan as well. Kakashi and Guy won't be enough." Kenshin explained before they began moving towards Danzo's hideout. "Here, I picked up our swords as well." Kenshin handed Akane her sword from the set their father had made for them.
[Back in Danzo's hideout]
Danzo was frantically preparing to escape because he knew that staying in the leaf wasn't an option anymore. He had attacked a shinobi from the hidden rain, potentially risking conflict between the two villages. Not to mention that he also kidnapped and got rid of one of the last surviving Uchiha. But just as he was about to leave, Kakashi and Guy broke into the hideout, alongside 20 of the leaf's elite Jonin and a dozen of Kenshin's shadow clones. But Danzo, through one of his hidden escape routes, escaped with a handful of root shinobi. But standing outside the exit were Kenshin and Akane, both holding their katanas.
"Danzo Shimura." Akane said coldly. "You're under arrest for attacking and abducting a shinobi from another village. Surrender, NOW!"
"Take them down." Danzo said before his root shinobi attacked Akane.
"Watch and learn, brat. I haven't shown you my taijutsu and kenjutsu yet." Akane smirked as she lunged forward, using her lightning fast taijutsu moves combined with her katana skills to effortlessly take down the root shinobi one by one.
'It looks like she trained with Guy well. Her taijutsu moves are on the level of no-weights Lee. And since she's using a katana instead of her fists it's quicker as well.' Kenshin thought with an amused smile. 'For some reason, she looks ... really hot when she's fighting.'
But Danzo, trying to take advantage of the situation, tried to escape. But just as he turned around, a shadow clone of Kenshin appeared behind him, slashing his right arm clean off. His main body appeared in front of Danzo, taking back Shisui's eye the same way Danzo took it from Shisui. He proceeded to kick Danzo in the head, knocking him out.
"You should've stuck with what you had, but you were too confident in your power, in your organization. But now, the cancer has been removed." Kenshin said but when sheathed his sword, Danzo, who was on his knees in front of him, began turning into wood. 'Wood clone! Where's the––' before he could finish his thought, a series of wind blades hit him from the back, fatally wounding him. 'Vaccum wave!' Was his last thought before he fell to the ground.
Akane's eyes widened in horror as she saw him get hit by Danzo's attack, and fall to the ground. She immediately rushed to his side, holding him in her arms. "Kenshin? Come on, say something. Nee-san is here."
"D.... Danzo... He's g..... geh.... he's getting..... away... Go..... please... don't let... this be in.... vain." Kenshin said, his voice barely a whisper. With tear filled eyes, Akane sat him up by a nearby tree before turning towards the direction Danzo went in. As she fought back tears, her mangekyo sharingan awakened. She took one last look at Kenshin, who was clearly not going to survive, before beginning to pursue Danzo.
She ran with all her strength, determined to get revenge on Danzo. She felt the new visual prowess from her eyes and prepared to use it on Danzo. "I don't care what they do, I won't let that asshole go. He's gonna pay for taking my brother's life.
Meanwhile Kenshin, after losing consciousness for a few minutes, regained it. He felt the sharp pain in his back and neck, making it impossible to move. "I can't let her take on Danzo. We need him alive. I need to expose his crimes. What about my right eye? It's ability shouldn't be as simple as just resurrection. That white light had to mean something." With much difficulty, he activated his mangekyo sharingan and looked down onto his torso. And he saw a faint blue light with his right eye. The light was becoming more and more like white with every passing moment. Without waiting further, he used his right eye, and within moments, his wounds began healing. But the severe pain and damage to his eye made his vision slightly blurry in his right eye. 'I can't see properly out of my right eye. But my wounds have healed. That must be my right eye's ability; to heal wounds. The human brain remains active for a few minutes even after death. So when I revived mom, it was shortly after she died. Her brain must've been still active. That's why her stopped heart registered as a wound. But what I don't understand is that, why didn't the rest of her body recover? Maybe it had something to do with countering her disease. Not to mention I was low on chakra.' Kenshin thought as he began moving towards the direction Akane went in.
