Chapter 7: Chapter 7:- Akane Uchiha
Meanwhile, in a small apartment near the former Uchiha clan compound, Akane Uchiha was cleaning the two identical katanas that her father once made for her and her younger brother. "I wish you were still here, little bro. It's too..... too lonely, too quiet." She thought as she put them back in the box and a few silent tears fell onto the closed wooden lid.

Early in the next morning, Akane woke up from her sleep hearing the sound of knocking on her door. As she got up to open it, she heard Kakashi's voice from outside.
"Akane? I need to talk to you. It's important."
"Kakashi-sensei? What brought him here so early in the morning? He isn't that kind of guy." Akane thought as she quickly changed out of her pajamas and opened the door. "What happened, Kakashi-sensei?"
Without answering, he went inside and closed the door. "Akane." He began. "Answer this honestly. Did Ichiro have a son? What do you remember about your mother?"
"Wait what the heck is this about? Why are you asking about Dad all of a sudden?" Akane was startled and confused by his sudden inquiry.
"Just answer me."
Akane sighs in frustration before beginning. "Dad had a son. But he had our mother's appearance. So the clan didn't allow Dad to bring him in. The last time I saw him was when he was 2, and I was 4. A year later, Dad told me that they had died during an attack on the rain by some rogue ninjas since they lived outside the village. So that's about it."
"Did he actually see their corpses?" Kakashi asked, still not convinced.
"Of course not." Akane scoffed. "Do you honestly think the rain would let him see their bodies? They were buried before he even got the news."
"And who exactly told him this?"
"A kunoichi from the rain. She stopped him before he could enter the village and told him this."
"So he didn't exactly see their corpses?"
"He tried to negotiate but the kunoichi wouldn't budge. So he had to give up."
"I see. Do you have any photos of your mother?"
"I do. But why? What's going on, Kakashi-sensei?" Akane asked, brows furrowed in confusion.
"We might have found your mother and brother. They're currently in the hospital. Show me your mother's photo." Kakashi said calmly.
Akane nearly fell to her knees as she processed Kakashi's words. "They... they're alive?!" It was all she could think of. "But how?! Why?!"
"It might be just a coincidence though. Show me your mother's photo first."
Akane was snapped out of her trance-like state and with shaky legs, she went to the small cupboard by her bed and took out a small box. She took out an old photograph of her parents taken right before she was conceived. "Here, this is my mother, Kana Uzumaki." Akane said, her voice barely audible because of the mix of emotions inside her.
Kakashi's eyes widened in surprise as the woman in the photo was exactly the same as the woman currently in the hospital under Shizune's care, albeit much younger and healthier. Without saying anything more, he told Akane to come with him and they rushed to the hospital.
[Meanwhile in the hospital]
"No I don't want to eat that bland stuff! You know I hate it!" Kenshin was trying to feed Kana who was resisting because the food was apparently too bland.
"Mom, come on! You need to recover, not put more strain on your body. You can barely sit now, but you still can't eat on your own! Come on, open up. When you recover I'll take you to barbecue." He said as he held up the spoon.
"Fine! But you promised." Kana pouted as she reluctantly opened her mouth to eat it.
"Oh, it's Kakashi-san! Who's the pretty young lady with you?" Kana asked as she noticed Kakashi entering with Akane.
"Well it's hard to believe that she's the mother not the daughter here. It's usually the child that resists eating that stuff." Kakashi thought as he saw the sight of a mother being fed by her son like this.
Meanwhile, Akane was simply staring at Kana. Although Kana's face was very different from what Akane remembered, she could still recognize Kana's gentle, almost childish voice. "It's been 13 years but I still remember that voice clearly." She thought as she took a step forward."Mom....."
"Young lady, I think you're mistaken." Kana replied with a weak smile as Kenshin fed her, not paying attention to Akane. But when he turned to take a good look at Akane, he was left dumbfounded.
"Mary..... she looks just like mary. Her face, eye color, even her hair is just like Mary." He thought as he stared at Akane, though she wasn't paying attention to it.
But when Kakashi showed Kana the photo of her and Ichiro that Akane had, Kana couldn't believe her eyes. "B... but... Ichiro-san and my daughter both died in the massacre! How?!"
"I wasn't in the compound during that night, I was at a friend's house." Akane whispered after finally rushing to Kana and hugging her tightly. Meanwhile, Kenshin was still staring at Akane and processing whether Akane was Mary or not and how he would confirm it.
"Ken-chan, it's rude to stare at a lady like that." Kana said, noticing Kenshin's staring. "Besides, she might be your sister."
"Huh?! Wait what!!!!" Kenshin screamed as he finally came out of his daze.
Akane chucked at his reaction but it reminded her of someone. "Tom used to be like that too. Wait..... Now that I take a good look at him, he looks just like Tom. Except for his hair, everything else is just like Tom. Did Tom get reincarnated just like I did?" Akane thought as memories of Tom suddenly flooded her thoughts.
"Well let's not rush to conclusions yet. We've arranged for a DNA test for you two, if it matches then you two are truly siblings. If not, well... it must be a coincidence." Kakashi said, interrupting the touching reunion.
