Chapter 15: What a Mum!

As the door swung open, Mia's mother, Isabella, stepped into the foyer, her presence commanding attention. She was a vision of elegance and poise, her youthful beauty and slender physique making her look more like a sister than a mother.

Isabella's porcelain skin glowed with a radiant complexion, her features finely chiseled and delicate. Her piercing blue eyes sparkled like sapphires, fringed with thick lashes that added to their allure. Her raven-black hair cascaded down her back in luscious waves, framing her heart-shaped face.

She stood tall, her 5'10" frame honed from years of strutting down catwalks and gracing magazine covers. Her modeling career had clearly kept her in top physical condition, her toned legs and arms evident even under her chic outfit.

Isabella's style was effortlessly chic, her fashion sense impeccable. She wore a sleek, yellow pencil dress that hugged her curves, its fitted bodice accentuating her tiny waist. The dress's subtle flair at the hem added a touch of sophistication, while her high heels elongated her legs, making her appear even more statuesque.

A delicate silver necklace glinted around her neck, a tiny pendant nestled in the hollow of her throat. Her ears sparkled with chandelier earrings, their intricate design catching the light as she moved. Her makeup was flawless, subtle yet effective in enhancing her natural beauty.

As she swept into the room, Mrs Isabella exuded an aura of confidence and glamour, her very presence seeming to draw the air out of the space. Mia couldn't help but feel a twinge of intimidation, her mother's arrival already making her feel like she was living in the shadow of a superstar.

She was beautiful and was quite young. She walked towards Mrs Fiona and then she also greeted her. She smiled and then started walking away slowly while Mrs Fiona had followed behind her including the other staffs. They all walked inside and then stood opposite each other in two lines creating space in the middle for Mrs Isabella to walk pass.

They all stood firm. Mia had noticed this and had known her mother had reached inside the house.

"Oi, Mrs. Fiona, How's it going, love? I'm back, and I'm bloody knackered! Can't believe the traffic on the way here was a nightmare. Anyway, what's the haps? How's Mia been behaving herself? And don't give me any of that 'she's been an angel' nonsense, I want the dirt!" She kept on going but then noticed that a figure had stood before her. She looked up and saw Mia she smiled and then turned to Mrs Fiona once more.

"Oh and can you get me a cuppa, pronto? I need a caffeine fixed, stat! And make sure it's strong, none of that weak, watery stuff, okay?" Mrs Fiona nodded as she left she could have decided to send the staffs of it was someone else but not Mrs Isabella.

" Now, the rest of you, just leave." She said and the remaining staff had left the living room and went to their designated chores. She faced Mia who had so much annoyance on her face but managed to hide it.

Her mother smiled at her and then gave her a slight hug which she would have given to a fan or anyone else. Mia didn't obstruct or tried to release herself from it because she knows it wouldn't take long.

"So Mia, how's school been? Still ruling it, I hope?" She said as she held her fist tightly symbolizing how Mia should crush the school rules with her actions.

Mia really didn't cared to listen to her, " Why are you back, Mum? I thought you were busy with your modelling career." Mrs Isabella heaved a sigh and then placed her hands on Mia's shoulder.

" Oh, I was, sweetie, but I missed you and wanted to spend time with you." Mia didn't let her finishe when she interfered with her words and cut her short. "Really? Because it feels like you are only here when it's convenient for you or when you have no work." She wrapped her hands around her chest and gave a firm look to her Mum.

" Mia, that's not fair. I just got back moreover I'm trying make an effort here." Mia was not ready to back out but she had to eventually give her mom a response. " Okay, fine. School's has been okay I guess. But you didn't answer my question. Why are you really here?" She transported the question to her mom without any hold ups.

" Mia, stop being suspicious. I told you, I missed you by the way, how has your health been?" Mia scoffed out in disgust over the question as she hated every move her mother tried to make to show her care she really didn't feel towards her.

" Liar, you are here because your deal got messed up." She spoke with few tears blurring her vision. " If you knew, them why the whole hell of questions." Her mother also spoke out of anger and Mia wasn't really shocked. Mrs Isabella heaved a sigh and then calmed her nerves down.

" Mia.." She tries to speak so calmly to her but then Mrs Fiona walked in with Mrs Isabella's order. Mia spoke out wiping off her tears, "Save it, Mum, I am not buying it. And by the way, my health is fine, and am still hanging out with the same friends. Happy now?"

" Mia, don't be like that...." Mrs Isabella tried to talk but was once interrupted by Mia again. Mia's anger had began to rise, "Like what? Honest? You're always so fake, Mum. I don't even know why I bother." She stormed off as she still spoke to her, " I don't want to talk about this anymore!"

Mrs Isabella rolled her eyes and then heaved off a heavy sigh. She turned to Mrs Fiona who handed her drink to her and then she took it and sat down on the sofa. She turned to Mrs Fiona, " Teenagers, am I right?" She giggled and then Mrs Fiona nodded.

" I am sure she would still come around." Mrs Fiona added before keeping shut and standing in composure. Mrs Fiona removed the glass cup from her lips and then placed it down on the tray kept on the table. " Now let's get back to business. What's the plan for the week? Anything exciting happening? And don't forget to telle about the staff, who's been slacking off and who's been doing their job properly," She said with a hint of playfulness and a bit cheeky.

" No one in particular " Mrs Fiona said knowing she had not really satisfied Mrs Isabella with the answers she wants. " I know you would tell me those trash but I refuse to believe those words of yours but yet again! I am here and I would see to all the staff competency." She smiles and then stood up and started walking towards her room upstairs.

" See you later, Mrs Fiona. In the meantime, tell the staff to prepare me something to eat and then send it upstairs," She walked upstairs with her bag held on her hands.

As Mrs Isabella stepped into the bedroom, she was met with an eerie silence. The room, once a symbol of her marriage, now felt like a hollow shell. The bed, where she and her husband had once shared their most intimate moments, now seemed like a cold, empty space. The memories that lingered here were no longer of love and laughter, but of resentment, anger, and disappointment.

Isabella's gaze fell upon the photos on the dresser, but even they seemed to mock her now. The smiles, the embraces, the happy moments – all just a facade. She and her husband had long since stopped loving each other, and the room seemed to reflect that emptiness.

She walked over to the window, pushing aside the curtains to let in the sunlight, but even its warmth couldn't penetrate the chill that had settled in her heart. This room, once a sanctuary, had become a prison, a reminder of all that had gone wrong.

Isabella's eyes wandered around the space, taking in the opulent decorations, the lavish furnishings, but it all seemed so empty, so meaningless. She realized that she and her husband had been living a lie, pretending to be something they were not, and this room was the ultimate symbol of that deception.

She sat on the bed for a while and then she took off her clothes and went to the shower. Words of Mia rang through her kind while she sat in the bath tub which was filled with soap.

She came out after some minutes of being in there and as she was drying off her hair. She wore her clothes and went downstairs to eat her food..
