The next day dawned over King's Landing, casting a warm glow across the Red Keep. Within the confines of their chambers, Rhaenyra and William prepared for the day ahead. Their room, adorned with intricate tapestries depicting the Targaryen and Baratheons sigils. Exuded a regal yet intimate atmosphere. The morning sunlight filtered through heavy curtains, creating a dance of light and shadows.
As Rhaenyra stood by the balcony, taking in the city's awakening beauty, a messenger bird swooped into the room, delivering a sealed letter to William. The sigil of Storm's End adorned the parchment, raising an immediate sense of concern.
Breaking the seal, William scanned the contents. His expression shifted from the warmth of morning light to a grave seriousness.
Turning to Rhaenyra, he handed her the letter, his eyes conveying the urgency of the situation. As Rhaenyra read the message, her eyes widened with a mixture of surprise and worry.
"We need you back at Storm's End," she said. "An unforeseen situation has arisen."
Rhaenyra looked at him, concern etched on her face. "I'm coming with you. Whatever it is, we face it together."
William hesitated, understanding the gravity of the situation. "No, my love. You must stay here with Malaevor. It's safer for both of you. I'll handle this and return as soon as I can."
Rhaenyra however didn't agree. "I won't stay behind while you face danger. We're a family, William. We face everything together."
After a moment of silent exchange, William spoke with gentle resolve. "Rhaenyra, please. Trust me on this. I'll be back soon. Protect Malaevor, and when I return, we'll face whatever comes our way as a united front."
Reluctantly, Rhaenyra nodded, even though her eyes were still filled with worry.
As Rhanerya went to inform Viserys, and prepare the ships. William looked at the bustling city below him. His eyes full of haze, with only a thought in his mind.
I guess, the butterfly effect started.
