Chapter 53: chapter 53

Days turned into weeks, and the rhythm of life in the Red Keep settled into a semblance of normalcy. Yet, beneath the veneer of routine, a complex web of allegiances, rivalries, and secrets continued to spin, threatening to ensnare Rhaenyra and William at every turn.

In the predawn hours, Rhaenyra found herself once again waking to the soft caress of morning light. William laid beside her in deep slumber. She couldn't help but smile at his serene expression, a brief respite from the tumultuous days that lay ahead.

As they shared a moment of intimacy, Rhaenyra couldn't help but think of the challenges they faced. The Iron Throne was still elusive, and their enemies, both known and hidden, were numerous. She leaned in to kiss William.

Then they embraced each other, finding strength in each other's arms.

As the sun ascended in the sky, Rhaenyra and William ventured out to check on Cannibal in his new dwelling place.

Upon their arrival, William dismounted and approached the huge dragon.

If it was William from months ago, he wouldn't dare to approach a dragon with such a size as The Cannable.

But here he was, he was his hand resting on the dragon's massive scales stroking it.

Cannibal responded with a rumble, even Rhaenyra started to stroke the dragon.

Now that The Cannibal, knew she was of no danger.

Seeing this Willaim asked Rhaenyra a question, "You want to go for a ride?"

"Absolutely," she replied. "It's been too long since I felt the wind in my hair."

Then Rhaenyra mounted Cannibal, her years of experience making the process look effortless. William followed suit, settling Infront of her. She held onto William tightly, her arms wrapped securely around his waist, as they prepared to take flight.

Cannibal unfurled his massive wings, their leathery membranes catching the sunlight. With a powerful thrust, he launched himself into the air, his powerful muscles propelling them upward.

As they soared above the city, King's Landing stretched out below them like a sprawling tapestry. The Red Keep, with its towering spires and crimson walls, looked regal from their vantage point. They could see the bustling streets, the markets, and the people going about their daily lives, unaware of the dragon and his riders above.

As the cloud blocked the vision of the dragon.

For a while, they simply enjoyed the freedom of flight, the wind rushing past them, and the feeling of weightlessness.

William guided The Cannibal through graceful arcs and spirals, and he responded with precision, his movements fluid and majestic.

It was different than the old Cannibal that was wild and aggressive.

Even though this Cannibal was still aggressive and wild. But only to other people and enemies.

After a while they decided to head back to the starting point.

The dragon descended on the ground. Which lead dragon tamers to approach it and calm the dragon down.

"That was amazing," Rhaenyra exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy. As soon as they got off the dragon's back.

"I'm glad you liked it" William said as he looked at her.
