Chapter 32: chapter 32

With the dawn of a new morning at Storm's End, Rhaenyra and William found themselves greeted by the gentle caress of a fresh breeze as they stepped out into the grounds.

"Ah, such a refreshing breeze!" Rhaenyra exclaimed, her words carried away on the winds of the past.

"Yes, it's refreshing," William replied, a warm smile on his face. "Reminds me of my childhood days spent exploring these very grounds."

As they strolled through the castle's courtyard, William's eyes glimmered with fond memories as he pointed out various features and shared anecdotes from his childhood.

"I used to spend countless hours training with my sword here," William chuckled, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.

Rhaenyra listened with genuine interest, imagining a young William honing his skills. "It must have been quite the sight," she remarked, a playful glint in her eye. "A young, William, mastering the art of the sword. I wish I could have seen it."

William grinned at her response. "Perhaps I could show you a few moves sometimes," he teased, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Maybe I'll have to be the one to teach you a thing or two," Rhaenyra replied playfully, a hint of laughter in her voice. "I have a feeling you'd be a quick learner."

Soon William joined in and laughed. And they continued their journey through the castle, exploring its halls and chambers.

As noon approached, they made their way to a secluded garden within the castle, surrounded by vibrant flowers and a sense of tranquility. They settled on a bench, enjoying each other's presence without the need for words.

"It's moments like these that make life truly special," William said softly, breaking the silence. "To find solace and happiness in the simple joys of being together."

Rhaenyra nodded, appreciating the serenity around them. "Indeed, it's in these quiet moments that I feel most connected to you," she confessed, her gaze meeting his.

They spent the rest of the day exploring Storm's End, taking in its beauty and rich history. As the sun began to set, they found themselves on the castle's ramparts, overlooking the vast expanse of the sea.

"I wish time could stand still in moments like these," Rhaenyra said wistfully, her eyes tracing the horizon as the sun dipped below.

She even wanted to give up on the throne and let Aegon have it. If the time could stand still with William.

William smiled, gently placing his hand on hers. "Perhaps it's the fleeting nature of these moments that makes them so precious," he replied. "We can cherish them, hold them close to our hearts, and carry them with us in the days to come."

As the night wore on, the moon cast its ethereal glow upon Storm's End, illuminating the paths of destiny that intertwined Rhaenyra and William. In the solitude of their separate chambers, as to not raise suspicion of their relationship.
