As William opened his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the soft glow of sunlight streaming through his window. He took a deep breath and let out a contented sigh as he stretched his arms and legs, feeling the softness of the sheets beneath him. He got up and walked over to his wardrobe, where he donned his own stylish-looking clothes, carefully selecting each piece with care.
He made his way to the washroom, splashing cool water on his face and looking at his reflection in the mirror. He smiled back at himself, admiring the strong jawline and piercing set of eyes he had inherited from his father. It was a habit he had developed from his stay at this world.
As he finished getting ready, a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. He walked over to the door and opened it, revealing a Baratheon Knight standing in front of him.
"Good morning, my lord," the Knight said with a bow. "We will be departing in a couple of hours."
William nodded in acknowledgement. "Thank you. I will be ready when the time comes."
The Knight bowed once again and left the room. William spent the next couple of hours preparing for their journey, double-checking his belongings and making sure everything was in order. As he waited for the departure.
As the appointed hour approached, William made his way to his father and greeted him.
Although he was disappointed that he couldn't see Rhaenyra again, he knew that he would have another opportunity in the near future. After saying their goodbyes, they boarded the ship and set sail for Storm's End.
....
The journey back to Storm's End was a long and eventful one. The ship was well equipped with all the necessary amenities, such as a comfortable cabin, fresh food, and plenty of entertainment to keep William and the passengers occupied during the long voyage.
As they set sail, the wind picked up, and the ship began to sway gently back and forth. William stood on the deck, taking in the beauty of the open sea. He watched as the waves crashed against the side of the ship, sending sprays of water high into the air. The sun was shining down on them, and the sky was a brilliant blue. William felt at rest, knowing that he was headed back to his home, Storm's End.
Storm's End had truly grown on William.
As they sailed on, William and his father reminisced about old times, laughed, joked, and bonded as father and son. The journey seemed to fly by, and before they knew it, a few hours had passed.
Then, as the ship approached the shore, William caught his first glimpse of Storm's End in the distance. He smiled at the sight of his home, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He had missed the castle's towering walls, the smell of the ocean, and the sound of the seagulls.
"Home sweet home," William said, grinning from ear to ear. He couldn't wait to set foot on land and breathe in the fresh sea air. The ship docked, and William and his father disembarked.
The castle loomed before them, a dark and imposing structure that seemed to radiate power and authority. As they approached, the scent of wood smoke and roasting meat filled the air, mingling with the faint hint of perfume that clung to the servants who scurried about their tasks.
The courtyard was a bustling hub of activity, with carts laden with supplies and soldiers in gleaming armor hurrying to and fro. The horses' hooves clattered on the cobblestones, creating a rhythmic beat that echoed throughout the castle, underscoring the palpable sense of anticipation that hung in the air.
As they passed through the gates, the sound of the portcullis grinding shut echoed behind them, and they were swallowed up by the castle's embrace. The walls seemed to close in around them, pressing close like a great beast, and the very air seemed to grow heavy with the weight of centuries of history.
Despite, that William felt good to finally be back home.
