Chapter 6: chapter 6

Rhaenyra's Pov:

She was in deep thought she couldn't help but feel a sense of bitterness and disbelief as she watched the tournament. She knew that her father, King Viserys I, had named the yet to be born "brother", as his heir, even though he was not yet born. It was a decision that Rhaenyra couldn't understand or accept.

She had always been her father's favorite and had been groomed for the throne since she was a child. She had been trained in the ways of ruling and warfare. She couldn't fathom why her father would pass her over in favor of a child who wasn't even born yet.

As Rhaenyra watched the tournament, her mind wandered to her father's decision. She couldn't help but wonder if her father was right, if she wasn't fit to rule after all. She pushed the thought away, knowing that she was more than capable of ruling the Seven Kingdoms.

But still, the injustice of it all weighed heavily on her. She couldn't understand why her father had put so much faith in a child who hadn't even taken his first breath. It seemed like folly to her, a foolish and dangerous gamble.

As she watched the tournament, her eyes were drawn to a young knight from House Baratheon, William. She had heard of his reputation as a skilled swordsman and genius inventor but had never seen him before only rumors.

As the young male stepped into the arena to face a knight from House Martell, Rhaenyra leaned forward in her seat with anticipation, while Alicent Hightower watched with interest. Rhaenyra watched as the two fighters who were on horses charged at each other.

Surprisingly Ser William leapt towards the enemy's horse and grabbed onto its reins, using his own weight to pull the animal down. It was a daring move, but in Rhaenyra's opinion it certainly paid off. The enemy was caught off guard, and before he knew it, he was thrown from his horse and onto the ground.

With that, Rhaenyra watched as the Martell knight demanded a sword to fight head-on which Ser William agreed to.

After that the Martell knight lunged forward with his sword, William deftly parried the blow and launched a counterattack, He moved with a grace and skill that was rare to see, his sword flashing in the sunlight as he struck his opponent with precision and speed.

With a swift counterattack, William deftly parried the Martell knight's strike and struck him on the arm with his own sword, causing it to drop to the ground. With the knight disarmed and vulnerable, William placed the tip of his sword at the man's throat. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as William emerged victorious.

With Rhaenyra also standing up, clapping her hands with enthusiasm.

As William made his way over to her, he said: "Your Grace," he said, bowing respectfully. "I would be honored if you would grant me, you're blessing for the tournament, it would mean the world to me.

Rhaenyra smiled at him. "You have my blessing, Ser William. I have no doubt that you will make House Baratheon proud today."

As William bowed and walked away, Rhaenyra's attention was drawn to Alicent Hightower, who was watching her with a sly smirk on her face. "It seems the princess has a crush," Alicent said teasingly.

Rhaenyra's cheeks reddened with embarrassment as she shot a sharp look at her. "There's nothing of that sort," she replied firmly, but couldn't help but watch William's retreating back with a sense of wonder and interest.
