Chapter 187: 188. Gate of Ard Gaeth.

Because of me?

Allen's pupils contracted, and his mouth went dry.

How did his identity get exposed like this?

Even the King of Kaedwen knew about his identity as the Child of Miracles?

"Gulp~"

Allen instinctively swallowed his saliva.

No, that's not right!

Although Sadia was staring at him, it didn't seem like she had seen through his identity. After calming down. It only took Allen a few seconds to realize the problem.

"He lost his cool out of concern," he thought to himself.

It didn't make sense that the King of Kaedwen would hunt Sadia and Hodee for ten years over a witcher like him, who had no connection to either of them. Sadia withdrew her gaze, glanced at Hode's grave, and continued: "You may not have heard of it, but it's the prophecy of the Soothsayer Ithlinne."

"Henselt pursued us endlessly because of this prophecy..."

Indeed.

Based on Sadia's tone, The Child of Miracles she mentioned was definitely not me!

But then the witcher couldn't help but ask: "So, who is the Child of Miracles?"

Sadia glanced at him but didn't answer directly. Instead, she continued her story. Allen had no choice but to listen obediently. However, After learning that Henselt was filled with hostility towards the Child of Miracles, a strong sense of crisis welled up inside him. This made him listen to Sadia's story while unconsciously contemplating how this would affect him and his school.

"Guided by fate, I retrieved the gem and was about to leave Shaerrawedd."

"But I didn't expect Henselt, the new King, to have deployed an army outside the ruins for some unknown reason..."

"At that time."

"The uprising of Aelirenn had long passed, and I had lived in the world of men for decades, so I didn't expect Kaedwen's new king to set his sights on me."

"So, it was inevitable...with only a few magical items to cast ordinary spells, I was captured."

"And then?" Allen's curiosity was piqued.

"Then I met Hodee."

Sadia gently stroked the soil in front of Hode's grave, and her tone suddenly softened:

"At that time, Hodee was representing Hudson, fulfilling his obligation to the king."

"I was captured, locked in a cage, when he recognized me and secretly released me."

"Recognized you?" Allen was puzzled. "Wasn't that your first meeting?"

Sadia nodded.

"A few years earlier, I had treated his mother's illness."

"But he was very young back then, around eleven or twelve years old."

"After recognizing me, he inquired about my capture from the nobles in the army, defended me, and hoped to release me."

"He even..."

"When the young noble in the army had the mage remove my illusion disguise..."

"Hodee, without hesitation, found an opportunity to steal my magical items and helped me escape."

"Just because you treated his mother's illness?" Allen found it hard to believe.

It seemed unlikely that treating someone's illness would lead to committing such a serious crime just to save her.

"No!"

Sadia shook her head, smiled slyly, and dispelled the illusion on her body: "And also because I'm beautiful."

"Huh?" Allen was momentarily stunned.

This answer took him by surprise. He had thought Sadia did more than just treat an illness; perhaps she had saved Hode's mother's life.

"The young noble in the army didn't expect that after the mage removed my illusion disguise, it would make Hodee fall for me."

"Of course..."

"Hodee always insisted it was love at first sight..."

"That foolish knight, overwhelmed by passion, didn't consider the consequences and rescued me from the camp..."

The witcher remained silent. This reason seemed a bit far-fetched, a bit absurd, but...

He glanced at Sadia, whose illusion had been dispelled, and saw that even the rough linen apron of a common peasant woman looked elegant and noble on her. A Sadia like this, bewitching a young, unmarried knight from a stable-hand background...

Seemed entirely plausible. Thinking about those beautiful memories, Sadia raised her head and looked up at the bright moon. In the cold moonlight, the elf appeared even more ethereal.

"Escaping the camp recklessly, without a plan, naturally wouldn't end well."

"Afterward, we were constantly hunted by Kaedwen's army."

"But looking back now, even though those days were filled with fear and humiliation, Hode always found opportunities to show me the beauty of the world."

Sadia's lips curled up slightly, and a faint smile spread across her face.

"It was during that time, in a chamomile-filled field, that I accepted Hode's proposal."

Then.

Sadia fell silent. She closed her eyes, seemingly savoring the sweetness of her memories. After a moment, She opened her eyes again, her delicate brows slightly furrowed, and continued: "Good times are always short-lived."

"Kaedwen's army was closing in on us."

"With no other choice, Hode brought me to Viscount Hudson."

"He and the Viscountess were the most upright and kind-hearted humans I had ever met, aside from the old priestesses of the Temple of Melitele."

"Doubt and suspicion ceased when Hode told them how I had once saved lives as a healer in many places."

"Even after learning of my Aen Seidhe identity, Viscount Hudson accepted us without hesitation."

"He provided us with shelter, hiding us from the King's soldiers."

"He did not betray Hode's trust, but we..."

Sadia paused briefly, her brow furrowing deeper, "We brought disaster upon them."

Sadia's pace of speech quickened, as if she wanted to quickly skip over this painful memory.

"Kaedwen's new king, Henselt, was even more despicable than his grandfather."

"Collaborating with Ban Ard's mage, who somehow learned of the gem's existence, they launched a surprise attack on the Viscount's castle while I was pregnant and unguarded."

"In the end..."

"To protect us, the Viscountess, and Lysa..."

"Viscount Hudson died."

"His body and soul, like those of the other innocent people in the castle, were used by the mages in forbidden necromantic rituals, along with the cursed artifact Melesko's Vengeance Ring, to track us."

"They cannot rest in peace!"

"Hode wanted to stay and fight alongside Viscount Hudson, but I forcibly used the gem to teleport him to the abandoned mine..."

"Afterward, witnessing the tragic fate of Viscount Hudson's family, whom we had implicated, Hode's hair turned white almost overnight, and his physical and mental condition worsened."

"Though he wasn't even forty years old, he aged as if he were sixty or seventy."

"And that was after I used illusions to seal his memory."

"I also gave birth to my children in the cold, desolate abandoned mine..."

Sadia turned her head to look at Allen: "My Child of Miracles."

The witcher fell silent upon hearing this. A half-elf with mixed elven and human blood. Fulfilling the prophecy of the "non-human human" in the Child of Miracles. Sadia had given birth to her children in the abandoned mine, and though "cold and desolate" was a stretch, it could still be tied to the prophecy.

With the newly revealed part of the prophecy involving the elves.

Indeed.

Sadia's half-elven children were almost born according to the prophecy.

However...

Allen opened his Witcher's Journal.

[Name: Allen]

[Age: 14]

[Title: Child of Miracles]

[Level: 40]

[Health: 100%, Stamina: 310/310, Mana: 410/410]

[Attributes: Strength 32, Agility 31, Constitution 34, Perception 28, Mystery 41]

[Affinity: Water 7, Earth 3]

Since the Witcher's Journal has already recognized Allen as the "Child of Miracle" in the form of a title...

Sadia's "Child of Miracle" must have just coincidentally matched the prophecy. In other words, Sadia and her half-elf child took the blame for the real Child of Miracle—Allen.

"Why does Henselt... and you even mentioned others, want to kill the Child of Miracle so badly?"

Allen couldn't help but ask.

"Isn't it hinted at in the prophecy?"

"The Child of Miracle is supposed to be the key to saving the world, right?"

"Why not?" Sadia shook her head. "I am a survivor of the Aelirenn Rebellion."

"The Child of Miracle I gave birth to, would bring blood and fire to which country?"

Naturally, it would be Kaedwen.

Allen answered in his heart.

It has come full circle!

Even if the first half of the prophecy has some minor discrepancies,

the latter half...

"The blood of the elves drowning the land" refers to the Aelirenn Rebellion!

The reason for the destruction of nations, brought by one who is not of humans, becomes clear. The racial hatred caused by the bloodline of the elves. The hatred for the death of their father brought by the human bloodline.

Damn!

If it weren't for the "Child of Miracle" title being so clear on the mission board, and the powerful abilities of the Witcher's Journal, even Allen himself would have doubted if he was the real "Child of Miracle."

Now,

Allen had only one question left: "Why are you telling me all of this?"

He was just a witcher who had taken on a contract to search for someone and save them. Sadia did not answer directly but instead asked: "From what Enid told me, it was Ida Emean who commissioned you to find us. What did she offer you as a reward?"

Allen was silent for a few seconds and then said,"As long as I complete the task, I will receive what I desire most..."

"This vague way of speaking, every Aen Saevherne speaks the same way."

Sadia muttered.

"That was a direct quote from the red-haired elf, but..." Allen glanced at the tombstone in front of him and gave a bitter smile, "I suppose this doesn't fully count as completing the task, does it?"

"It does." Sadia suddenly replied. "Tell me, what is it you desire the most?"

The witcher was stunned for a moment and then said,

"I want to earn the friendship of the elves... of the Aen Seidhe clan..."

"Allen, you are already a friend of the Aen Seidhe clan; that can't be your reward."

Sadia smiled. Even though Allen knew it was just polite words, Sadia's natural warmth still made him feel a little better. He took a deep breath and said,

"This winter, it's possible that the home of the Wolf School witchers—Kaer Morhen—will face a devastating attack from Henselt and the sorcerer Ban Ard..."

"We hope to gain the support of our Aen Seidhe friends."

Sadia was silent, and after a few seconds, she asked in surprise, "Is that all?"

Allen was momentarily speechless. However, before he could respond, Sadia looked at him seriously and nodded slightly: "I agree."

"As long as you take my children to Kaer Morhen, I will do everything I can to bring about the clan's support."

"Take them to Kaer Morhen?" The witcher was surprised. "You mean?"

Sadia nodded: "I want them to become witchers!"

"You know witchers aren't..." Allen started, but Sadia interrupted him. "They have nowhere else to go."

"I must return to my people this time."

"They... they have some extreme views about half-elves. Following me back would be no safer for them than becoming witchers."

"Besides..."

Sadia's eyes grew determined: "My children are the Child of Miracle."

"It is destined; they will surely survive the witcher trials."

"No matter how high the mortality rate of those trials!"

Seeing Sadia speak with such determination, Allen was momentarily at a loss for words. However, with the trial mortality rate now close to zero, and Kaer Morhen being short of fresh blood...

If he thought about it in a darker way, having Sadia's children undergo the trials at Kaer Morhen would also guarantee that the elves would come to their aid if the Wolf School faced any danger. So, Allen agreed.

With that, the matter was settled.

Sadia used an illusion to return to her appearance as "Grandmother Asha."

Afterward, the two of them slowly walked towards the wooden cabin.

------------------

When they reached the cabin, Allen and Sadia found Francesca affectionately holding the arm of a red-haired elf, smiling as they waited at the door for them.

"Ida!"

"Ida Emean!"

The witcher and the elf exclaimed in surprise: "What are you doing here?"

Wasn't she supposed to be locked in a cell by Ban Ard's guards?

Of course!

Someone who could see the future, like an Aen Saevherne, would never truly walk into a trap. Ida Emean smiled and turned towards Sadia: "'Grandmother Asha,' I've come to take you."

"Ida, you know Grandmother Asha too?" Francesca asked in surprise.

Ida Emean nodded and then said, "Hurry and give Allen the reward for completing his task; we need to leave."

The reward for the task? I give it?

Sadia was puzzled for a moment, full of confusion, just about to ask a question.

"Buzz~"

The wolf medallion vibrated. Both the sorceresses and the witcher felt a strange sensation at the same time. Their hearts began to race, and a sudden impulse surged through them...

"This... this is the call of destiny!"

Sadia murmured in astonishment.

In the next moment, she snapped back to reality and looked at the witcher with a complicated expression: "So, in the end, the gemstone's true destination is you. Very well... very well..."

With that, Sadia walked into the wooden cabin.

Destiny...

Is this the call of destiny that Sadia spoke of?

"Yes, Child of Miracle!"

"This is the call of destiny!"

Suddenly, Allen heard the voice of Ida Emean in his mind. After a moment of silence, Allen asked in his mind: "Was it also destiny that brought you here?"

Ida Emean smiled and nodded. With the answer given, Allen was left speechless. It wasn't that he had no questions, but that he had so many in his mind that he didn't know where to start.

How did Ida Emean know he was the Child of Miracle?

What exactly was destiny?

Right!

I should ask this!

"Respected Seer, will Kaer Morhen be destroyed?"

Allen asked in his mind. Ida Emean shook her head. Before Allen could feel relieved, she gently said: "Sorry, I don't know."

"You think too highly of Seers. We can only see glimpses of the future by chance."

"That's all!"

Upon hearing this, Allen felt somewhat disappointed. However, in the next second, Sadia emerged from the cabin, drawing his attention. Through the perspective of the wolf medallion, he could see the black energy focusing on the center of a gemstone in the necklace Sadia held.

What kind of gemstone was this?

The witcher's gaze was fixed on the gem.

As Sadia placed the necklace in his hand, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his ears.

"Ding!"

"Fragment of the Gate of Ard Geis detected. Absorb it?"
