Chapter 45: Chapter 45 - Zhen Xu, Luluo
3rd Person POV
A certain area in the mountain range.
Zhen Xu leisurely walked forward, his ash-colored eyes seemingly devoid of any trace of life. He was akin to a walking dead person, with no warmth at all from his ice-cold body.
Suddenly, his moving feet slowly came to a stop.
He lifted his head and looked forward where a giant tree stood within the thin fog. There was currently a figure seated on one of its branches, head lowered and looking at him.
It was a young man with an innocent-looking baby face. A single look at his smiling appearance gave one a rather favorable impression.
However, Zhen Xu merely nonchalantly stared at him.
"Heh heh, how are you…" The youth smiled at Zhen Xu.
There was no response.
The youth did not seem to mind, still smiling brightly as he said, "I am Jiang Quan from the Jiang clan of the Dongxuan Continent."
Zhen Xu's eyes finally moved. He stared at the youth called Jiang Quan and said, "It seems that quite a few of you Dongxuan rats have sneaked in."
Jiang Quan grinned. "You should be the Little Yama King from the Yama Sect, right?"
"I plan to leave my name on the Saint Tablet, so… I'll have to ask you to do me a favor…"
"Please die at my hands, alright?"
Jiang Quan's gaze abruptly turned ice-cold at the final word. With a flick, the ground under Zhen Xu's feet suddenly crumbled as two sharp blue icicle-shaped Genesis Qi stabbed him like a bolt of lightning.
Zhen Xu's figure instantly rose into the air at this moment.
Blue Genesis Qi streaked past, ripping apart the air, and leaving two deep holes in Zhen Xu's shin. However, the holes gave off an ash-gray glow, but no blood flowed from them.
Zhen Xu's expression remained indifferent as if unable to feel the wound on his leg as his hand suddenly made a grabbing motion.
Grayish black Genesis Qi stealthily snaked towards Jiang Quan from behind like a viper in the shadow, shooting straight for the fatal point on his back.
Ch!
Blue Genesis Qi rose behind Jiang Quan like a grand sea, blocking the sneak attack. The corpse poison contained within the grayish-black Qi was scattered and neutralized the moment it came into contact with the blue Genesis Qi.
Jiang Quan grinned. "As expected of an apex-level genius of the Cangmang Continent… I have to be vigilant."
Grayish black Genesis Qi churned below Zhen Xu's feet, lifting him into the air. His ash-colored eyes locked onto Jiang Quan as he said, "A rat will always be a rat, only knowing how to sneak attack."
"Aren't you the same, already secretly prepared an attack the moment we met." Jiang Quan chuckled.
"However, it does seem like you do have some ability. Guess I have not especially come here in vain." Jiang Quan slowly lifted his hand. In an instant, astonishing Genesis Qi exploded from his body. Blue Genesis Qi surged behind him like a wave, giving off an alarming pressure.
"I heard that you once exhausted an Alpha-Origin to death?"
Jiang Quan smiled slightly. "What a coincidence, there's also an Alpha-Origin that was toyed to death by me in the same manner."
"And today… I will also let you have a taste of how he felt."
Rumble!
However, rumbling grayish-black Genesis Qi had already unfurled from Zhen Xu's body before the former's words could fade. In a split second, the Genesis Qi turned into countless streams of grayish black that seemed to fill the sky as they headed towards Jiang Quan from all directions.

Jiang Quan licked his lips, a cruel look emerging in his eyes as his cold voice echoed in the forest.
"After today, the apex level prided geniuses of your Cangmang Continent… will become the stepping stones of our Dongxuan Continent…"

Meanwhile in a certain area.
Luluo had just dealt with Grade 4 Genesis Beast which looked like a tiger and was a dozen-foot-tall with a pair of wings on its back.
She was pretty exhausted even with the help of Little Frost, so she had her guard down.
She hopped off Little Frost's back, arriving in front of the frozen giant tiger as she reached out a hand. With a gentle knock, the ice sculpture shattered, leaving only scattered pieces of ice on the ground.
White Genesis Qi rose and converged in the air, forming a white Genesis Qi bead.
Luluo's hand reached out, attempting to grab the Genesis Qi bead.
The moment she tried to touch it a flash of scarlet suddenly shot out from the forest behind them, vicious and ruthless as it shot towards the fatal spot on Luluo's back at an indescribable speed.
A rip could be seen in the air in that split-second moment.
Luluo also sensed the sudden force that was heading her way, causing her expression to involuntarily change.
Fortunately, she was able to dodge it at the last moment.
Boom!
The scarlet light landed on the now-empty ground, causing a wave of berserk Genesis Qi to unfurl. The ground was torn open, the boiling heat melting even rocks.
The wave of heat burned a good chunk of Luluo's clothes, leaving a piercing pain on her skin.
She stood up and looked in the direction of the forest where the attack came from.
"You sneaky rat, Little Frost go and capture whoever is there", Luluo angrily commanded.
EE!
Little Frost released an angry cry, its wings suddenly flapping as a surge of freezing air swept forth. Any tree it came into contact with was instantly turned to ice.
"Hehe, what a violent little lass."
When the freezing air swept past, scarlet light exploded like burning flames, completely blocking the attack.
The scarlet-red Genesis Qi parted, allowing Luluo to see a somewhat beautiful figure slowly walking out from within.
Only when she neared did she realize that it was a pretty girl, her hair red like fire.
"Who are you?", Luluo asked with some eeriness, she did not know of any individual with such power.
Upon hearing her question, the red-haired girl smiled faintly, displaying a lovely smiling face. However, there was a chilling eeriness in her smile.
"Zhu Ying, Dongxuan Continent, Zhu clan."
Hearing her introduction Luluo was a little shocked but it was not something out of the blue as the Dongxuan Continent had long been covering the blessings of the saint remains domain.
"Humph, Dongxuan rat, then why did you attack me?", Luluo said as she stared at Zhu Ying.
"To leave my name on the Saint Tablet of course." Zhu Ying softly chuckled. "Your Cangmang Continent does not have many decent apex-level geniuses, leaving me no choice but to seek you out."
"The likes of you? Little Frost, go mess her up!" Luluo let out an icy laugh. She was infuriated by the red-haired girl's earlier actions and did not want to waste any more time talking.
But in her arrogance, she had made the fatal mistake of underestimating the enemy.
EE!
Little Frost flapped its wings, immediately causing icy Genesis Qi to gather towards it. It was a domineering and impressive sight, even the air began to freeze into countless ice crystals.
Swish!
Little Frost transformed into a flash of cold light that shot toward Zhu Ying at an astonishing speed.
The corners of Zhu Ying's red lips curled slightly, the tip of her foot pushing off the ground as her body rose into the air. Meanwhile, scarlet light shot out from her sleeve like a coiling fire python.
Pchla!
The scarlet light descended, wrapping around Little Frost. It turned out to be a long fiery-red whip that seemed to burn with fire as it firmly bounded Little Frost. No matter how hard it struggled, the bird was unable to break free.
"Hehe, how do you like my Scarlet Flame Beast Binding Whip?" Zhu Ying chuckled.
"Little Frost!" Luluo was greatly alarmed, evidently never expecting that Zhu Ying would possess a means to restrain Genesis Beasts. A single move was all it had taken to bind the unprepared Little Frost.
"Flame Devil Seal!"
Zhu Ying understood that she could not give any chances to a formidable foe. After trapping Little Frost, she appeared in front of Luluo in a flash, forming a seal with her hand as she sent it toward the latter.
Boom!
Scarlet-red Genesis Qi whizzed forth, seemingly transforming into a burning fist. The howls of flame devils echoed from within as they ferociously blasted toward Luluo with violent, overwhelming might.
Luluo gritted her teeth as she thrust her hand forward, Genesis Qi surging with a piercing hiss.
Bang!
The two clashed directly. Zhu Ying ended up nimbly drifting backward, and Luluo was violently shaken, staggering back several steps before steadying herself. Her bright and clean face was flushed red, the Qi and blood in her body churning uncontrollably.
"Tch tch. You seem to be only so-so without that Genesis Beast." Zhu Ying let out a laugh.
Luluo's face turned green with fury. She had many skills and techniques, but all of them needed the cooperation of a Genesis Beast to release their greatest power. However, due to her mistake, Little Frost had been trapped at the beginning of the battle.
"If that is all you have, there will be one less apex-level genius in your Cangmang Continent today." Zhu Ying seemed to sigh regretfully, but the smile on her lips was exceptionally cold.
Their bout continued for a while with Zhu Ying being on attack and Luluo on defensive.
Without the assistance of Genesis Beast, the majority of her arsenal was useless and all she could do was dodge and parry her attacks.
After a while, Luluo was running on fumes as nearly all her qi was used up.
As if she noticed this, Zhu Ying sent out a big Qi blast towards her to finish her, once and for all.
Luluo felt despair as she watched the attack come towards her, she was exhausted, and this attack was sure to fatally injure or even kill her.
Just before the attack could hit her It was stopped by a barrier which seemed to be made from spirit power.
"See this why I told you to not underestimate others before fighting them Luluo, If Yaoyao and I did not come in time you could have been killed.", Zhou Yuan said as he slowly descended from the air with Yaoyao in his hands.
Seeing Zhou Yuan Luluo was overjoyed, which meant she was saved.
Looking at Zhou Yuan now, Luluo felt that he was even more handsome. (Hero Filter)
Turning his head he glared at Zhu Ying who was now shivering as she realized the identity of these 2 people.
She and all others had been instructed by Ye Ming to not engage in a confrontation with these 2, only all of them gathered were to attack these 2, as one on one or one on two they would be massacred.
Sensing his gaze and the pressure behind it, Zhu Ying was assured that she could not fight this monster alone.
She immediately waved her hand as a ball of fire flew into the sky. The ball exploded, sending out a peculiar undulation.
This was a signal to Ye Ming and the rest.
Zhou Yuan calmly watched this, he could stop her but did not as he wanted them all to gather in one place as hunting them one by one would be rather troublesome.
Yaoyao also understood his intent therefore she just focused on treating Luluo and fed her a recovery pill.
Zhou Yuan just calmly walked towards Little Frost who was sealed by fire.
Upon reaching her he just waved his hand, and the fire was easily dispersed.
Seeing his action, Zhou Ying was frightened.
She could not imagine how one could so easily disperse her flames, thinking of this she was glad that she did not engage him.
After freeing little frost he patted her head before she turned into her small form and flew to Luluo's side.
After about 5 minutes, there was some noise before 4 figures appeared.
"You guys are so slow, If I wanted to kill her before you guys arrived I could have done so easily and even prepared a grave for her in Advance, If you guys survive this time, do be a little faster next time okay?", Zhou Yuan said with a playful smirk.
Ye Ming, Wu Huang, and the rest were a little taken aback when they saw Zhou Yuan and Yaoyao.
After hearing Zhou Yuan, all of them were angered but dared not rush as they knew a single mistake could get them killed.
"And how are you doing Thief", Zhou Yuan deliberately said to Wu Huang with a tone full of disdain and disgust like it was far below him to call his name.
It was a deliberate move on his part, he wanted to piss the guy off, recently he is not getting much prey with whom he can play around, and Wu Huang right now is just a Fish kept on the chopping board, waiting to be chopped.
This was due to the difference in their strength.
Wu Huang's face distorted even further as almost material killing intent surged around Wu Huang's body, sweeping up the surrounding lives. It was as if the temperature had suddenly dropped.
However, Zhou Yuan paid no heed to Wu Huang's killing intent.
He shifted his attention to Ye Ming as he addressed him one last time.
"You know you really should stop with your habits of peeking, the last time I considered dealing with the beasts more important otherwise I would have poked your eyes out."
Hearing his words, no matter how calm-minded Ye Ming was he felt insulted as Zhou Yuan gave more importance to beasts than him, comparing a beast with him angered him very much but his rationality allowed him to calm down.
"You've teamed up with the Dongxuan people?", Luluo asked with contempt.
Wu Huang indifferently replied, "Short-sighted. The future me will not be limited to a mere continent. Why should my Cangmang Continent identity restrict me?"
"How shameless.", Luluo sneered.
Wu Huang's face turned a little rigid at that.
"Anyways now that you all have gathered her it saves me the trouble of looking out for all of you, You all can rest in piss together", Zhou Yuan said as he and Yaoyao made a hand sign and used their spirit to activate the runes they had discreetly laid out.
As they saw this action all of them were alerted and some of them looked in horror as they did not detect anything before the activation.
Soon Runes surrounded them, approximately 100 meters of area with them from its center.
A dome-like shape formed around them filled with countless Runes of Grades 3 and 4.
Sensing the spirit undulations from the runes, their faces changed completely.
"Now should we begin", Zhou Yuan smirked as he took out the Heavenly Yuan Brush and rushed at them at a very fast speed.
