The Big Race
The day has arrived, the Big Race to decide who is the fastest between A-train and Shockwave, two speedsters. All with Vought selling overpriced tickets for what is essentially a 2 seconds race. Then there was the merchandise and food stale prices as well and overall it just made a huge profit for a race that's done as soon as it began.
But the people want it, and Vought gives the people what they want and do what they need to do to pursue a profit. A sentiment I agree with to a certain extent, except I am more in the biological weapons business, for right the illegal kind and then hopefully in secret the legal kind with the United States. Wouldn't be the first time in history they compromised their morals to get a leg up on the enemy.
Turning on the TV I saw that a couple of news stations were covering it, mostly the ones who cover celebrity bullshit and all that. That and a few of them I think were owned by Vought beyond the other one, can't remember what the name of it was though. Didn't matter, it was all corporate propaganda people can't seem to look past for whatever reason.
Didn't matter because soon enough the doorbell rang and when I opened the door on the other side was the delivery person for "The Costume Duo" or something similar that, probably started as a small company of two people before expanding. They handed me a package, which hopefully had a mask that could fit me, I retrieved it after signing and paying for everything, with cash of course. No reason to use the old debit card and leave something people could follow.
Closing the door, I ripped the box open and smiled, it looked exactly like the breather All for One used in the anime. Except for the red eyes, of course, that and the things that helped with breathing were modified to instead disguise my voice. Honestly, I lucked out finding the company, a bit pricey but well worth it. I then got some of my materials out to help hide the little tubes designed to modify my voice. Trying my best to keep the overall look but modify it enough to where the people at the company wouldn't recognize it.
I then put it, and while it was a little snug overall it was the perfect fit and I looked at myself in the mirror. I would look a little more intimidating if I wasn't wearing pajamas, but I just wanted to see what I looked like in the mirror. Gotta say they do good work, but for the next part, I wouldn't need their help. No, I just got one of my suits out, one without a tie, and put it on. I took a big breath and looked at myself and talked practicing my lines, like an actor about to go on stage.
"Well isn't this a fun little event, a race between two speedsters and overpriced tickets to boot how fun."
"Well, I guess I'll just take one of your abilities, eeny, meenie, you."
The rest would follow afterward, I'd take shockwaves speed, maybe kill or kidnap him doesn't matter which. Then I would use all the other peers I've accumulated until now that I haven't given away to give Homelander a show, punch around a bit yada, yada, and then fly away after being "foiled" raising Vought stock and giving the US government more reasons to let supe's in the military but if it didn't who cared. I was going to be there to announce my presence to the world.
So it would be a win all around, and while they were doing this my Nomu's would gather more subjects, a bit more spread out this time with the Middle-end going for a more powerful supe just so I could make another. I had my only little small factory going on and soon enough I would need to expand, both the building I needed for this factory and actual human manpower, not the basic stuff Nomu could provide but the ones who can be delicate.
Stepping outside I slowly ascended upward, using my flight to go far above the clouds, a place Homelander wouldn't think to look while he was in the arena. I slowly made my way towards it, making sure I timed it just right so that I would arrive hopefully before the race started or just as it ended either one worked. On my way there, I had to make sure I avoided planes and birds, would've ruined my suit and mask if I did, well that and I wanted my first appearance to be perfect.
It took quite a bit to hover over the stadium, well at least I believe it's the stadium, thousands of people and multiple supes (Homelander and Queen Maeve included) alongside the two racers at least I think they were. I did have enhanced senses and that included eyesight but it was still difficult to differentiate all the people and there were massive amounts of blue and orange, which was probably another indicator that A-train and Shockwave were here.
I descended a bit, enough so that I could hear the announcer and interrupt them when the race was starting as I arrived earlier than intended. Now all I had to do was wait, and eventually, after a while, I saw two small figures making their way to the track and what I believed to be concrete slabs. Then as I made my descent they had shot something in the air, and bam the race went off and both A-train and Shockwave ran across the field with guess who, A-train winning.
"He's done it again, A-train wins!"
Then I revealed myself to all the cheering now confused people, each one pointing fingers at me trying to figure out what I was doing here. Underneath my mask, I smiled and began changing my vocal cords using the power of supe whose voice can boom like thunder no matter where they were and then I spoke.
