"Master of Magic Array!"
"Another talent entry has appeared?"
"So Master Murphyson has a talent for magic array?"
"Is this the turning point of fate?"
Orion pondered these thoughts, feeling a surge of happiness. Not only could he control his own destiny, but he could also influence Master Murphyson's fate. This realization meant he could rewrite the destinies of others through his actions.
"I have memorized this magic array encyclopedia, and now it is yours," Master Murphyson smiled, handing Orion the "Magic Array Encyclopedia."
Orion took the book, recognizing the unique mark on the cover that confirmed it was crafted by Agamotto himself. If Master Murphyson could master the magic array craft, then surely Orion could too, potentially enhancing his own talent panel beyond what Master Murphyson had achieved.
"Master Murphyson," Orion said softly, "in the future, let's study magic array crafts together."
Their friendship deepened as Orion borrowed several advanced works from the Book of Secrets and delved into them diligently.
In his dormitory, Orion opened the borrowed books and swiftly memorized their contents with his green talent, photographic memory. He gained a comprehensive understanding of the magical dimensions within the current universe.
However, even after studying "Journey to Hell," which described myriad dimensions beyond a singular hell, Orion found no mention of the mysterious dimension he sought. His uncertainty grew, questioning whether his initial assumptions were completely wrong. Could this mysterious dimension be unrelated to nightmares altogether?
"Uncomfortable," Orion muttered to himself, lying back on his bed and staring blankly at the ceiling. The unknown often instilled fear in him.
But then an idea sparked—what if this mysterious dimension belonged to no one? Could he claim it and become its true master, a Dimension Lord? Such a title would elevate him to the level of the Supreme Mage, with endless magical power at his command.
"How do I control this mysterious dimension?" Orion wondered aloud, his thoughts swirling with possibilities.
To deepen his understanding, Orion reopened the "Crimson Grimoire," "Book of God," "New Edition of the Universe," and "Astral Projection." These texts, written in standard Sanskrit, provided insights into offensive spells, the Crimson Universe ruled by Cytorak, the god Vishanti revered by Kamar-Taj, dimensional knowledge, and astral projection.
The "Magic Array Encyclopedia," focusing on magical craftsmanship, particularly captivated Orion. Immersed in his studies, he absorbed every detail with the rustling sound of pages turning, losing track of time.
When he finally snapped out of his trance, Orion realized he hadn't felt hunger. Could this be due to his talent, "Preparing for Mysterious Entity"? A chill ran down his spine—it seemed he could no longer delay.
Orion hastily put on his shoes and left the trainee wizard's dormitory, traversing corridors and ancient buildings until he reached a courtyard—the residence of Baron Mordo, Chief Wizard of Kamar-Taj.
Ding dong.
Orion knocked on the door.
"Orion?" came Baron Mordo's voice from within.
"Come in," Baron Mordo invited.
Baron Mordo awaited Orion eagerly, contemplating the proposal Orion had presented earlier. To defeat Casillas, Baron Mordo knew he couldn't achieve victory alone—he needed power.
"Brother Mordo," Orion began as he entered, "what are your thoughts?"
"Now that we're alone, let's speak openly," Orion continued, closing the door with a playful smile. Years of experience had taught him to understand human nature.
"Orion," Baron Mordo scrutinized, "what exactly do you hope to gain by aiding me with such fervor?"
Orion met Baron Mordo's gaze evenly. "Brother Mordo, you must have noticed the curse that plagues me. I hope that once you ascend to Supreme Sorcerer, you can remove this curse and appoint me Chief Mage of Kamar-Taj. Is that too much to ask?"
Orion had prepared his answer carefully. True motives should be concealed to maintain trust.
"The curse..." Baron Mordo pondered. "You realized its presence yourself?"
There was a subtle smile on Baron Mordo's lips. "There's no rush with the curse. When I become Supreme Sorcerer, I'll find a solution."
"Orion," Baron Mordo changed the subject, "wear this Sling Ring. I will teach you the skills necessary to become a full-fledged wizard."
With those words, Baron Mordo tossed a Sling Ring to Orion.
Orion caught it, his heart racing with excitement.
A Sling Ring—the iconic magical tool of Kamar-Taj, granting instantaneous travel through space. By focusing on a destination, one could open a portal to arrive there instantly.
"Sling Ring," Orion whispered, overwhelmed by the possibilities it offered.
