Chapter 32: The Letters

"Is that so?"

Inside the room of a small but exquisite mansion, a 13-year old kid, with blindfolds on his eyes, leaning against the headboard of his bed, and is currently... looking at a wall to his right...

His guard, the one who is currently speaking with him, can be seen worrying about the situation of his prince…. This guard, Carl, is wondering if he should tell his highness that he is currently looking at a wall… He debated with himself and after a while, he decided to tell his highness about it.

"Your highness… you are currently looking straight at a wall…"

"Hmm?"

Felix raised his eyebrow for a moment before putting it down again. He then raised his arm and pointed towards his right, a direction where he thinks Carl is at right now.

"Then… are you over there?"

"No… your highness… A little more to the left…"

"Then.. over there?"

Felix then pointed straight towards Carl, coincidentally or not.

"That's right, your highness. I am in the direction you are currently pointing at."

Felix then moved his entire body to the direction he is currently pointing at, straight at Carl.

"I see… pfft, I can't see hahaha… So….. I need to face a little bit more to the left of the direction I can hear the person, huh?... This is hard, you know? I wonder how those blind people navigate without their eyes…."

"To be fair your highness… you were just recently blind… You still have the opportunity to adjust more."

"But…. I get agitated you know? I want to see again… or at least to the point where I can pinpoint the position of someone who is speaking to me right away…"

"Don't worry your highness… I, no… we, your Imperial Guards, would tell you immediately if any problem would dare to occur."

"Thanks, but… why are you guys so soft towards me, give me back the stern and joking Carl you always were!"

Carl then scratched the back of his head, although it can't be seen by Felix, he knew that Carl was scratching his head due to the sounds.

"We… we are sorry, your highness…"

"Sorry? For what?"

"It… it is our duty to help you, to protect you, your highness… but… we failed on our fundamental duty. We were the ones who were protected… by our protectee, nonetheless. We were weak, no, we are weak, your highness… So…"

Carl then bowed deeply, a waist deep bow, which kinda scared Felix, even though he cannot see it.

"Wha-what are you doing?"

"I am bowing, your highness. As I was saying, your highness…. Please help us be stronger. We, of the Imperial Guards, implore you, your highness, to train us, to educate us, to drill us, instruct us, coach us, help us, so that we can be a much better Imperial Guards for you, your highness."

"But… you have your own training right?"

"We… we found it inadequate… we, your Imperial Guards, would like to train like you, your highness, someone who only recently started to train… someone who never even held a gun before… and that someone is stronger than us… so please, your highness. Please, teach us!"

Felix then puts his right hand on his lips, this is the gesture he uses whenever he starts to think.

The room was silent for a while… Carl is still bowing, while Felix is still thinking.

Carl thought that his highness was hesitating… he was thinking… maybe, the method that the prince uses is only for those of Imperial descent… Little did he know, Felix is just thinking of what to teach them.

"Hmm… alright. Gather tomorrow at the training grounds. You, Carl, would lead me there. Also gather a bunch of leaves, just small ones would do."

Carl was surprised.

Leaves?

Nevertheless, he still stood up straight and thanked his highness.

"Thank you, your highness! We will do our best!"

"Alright, settle down now. Let's go back to our topic earlier. So… was it really the South East Asian Alliance and the English Australis who attempted the murder attempt?"

"Yes, your highness."

"You also said that the drivers, our drivers, were dead due to the intensity of the firing, and our newest addition, the newbie, is kinda injured?"

"Yes, your highness….."

Felix deeply breathed. He deeply breathed a number of times. The room was silent, minus the breathing of the prince.

After a while, Felix opened his eyes. His dull crimson red eyes were staring straight towards Carl. Felix also adopted a serious expression, befitting someone belonging to the highest of all aristocracy. The intensity of his stare is akin to a lion awakening from his slumber, and is now looking for a prey.

"Carl."

Feeling the intensity of the prince, Carl immediately knelt down, with his left leg at a kneeling position, and with his right leg raised. He then struck his left chest with his right fist and bowed his head at a 45 degree angle.

"Yes, your highness! Your lowly servant, Carl, is awaiting your orders!"

"Then Carl, tomorrow, come with me to visit the families of the bereaved, after our training."

Carl looked up towards the prince. Due to the recent assassination attempt, he worries that something may happen again, so he tried to dissuade the prince but… the intensity of the prince's dull stare was boring straight towards him. Regardless, he still attempted to dissuade the prince.

"But… your highness-"

"It is an order, Carl."

Carl immediately bowed down again.

"I understand, your highness. We, your Imperial Guards, would protect you, even at the cost of our lives."

"Gut. Second, make sure that the newbie is well. We do not want him to think that the Imperial Guards are weak. Furthermore, we would need to double his training, so that he may be up to standard in the coming days."

"I understand, your highness. We would train him double of ours."

Felix nodded.

"Then. This is the last and final instruction, Carl."

Feeling the seriousness, Carl immediately puts his full attention towards the words of his highness.

"Grab a bunch of papers, grab a pencil or a pen too. I want you to write whatever I would say."

"Alright, your highness."

Carl grabbed a bunch of papers from a nearby desk, he also grabbed a dip pen located atop the prince's desk.

Carl then pulled a small table and chair from out of nowhere, and sat on it. He then dipped the pen into a jar of ink.

"I am ready, your highness."

"Gut. Write whatever I say, until I tell you so."

"Yes, your highness."

Felix then pinched his lips with his right hand. After a minute of thinking, he removed his hand from his lips and then started.

"To His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Franz von Hohenzollern...."

_____________________________

"...I write to inform you that I am safe following the recent assassination attempt. There is no need for concern regarding my condition, as I have taken all necessary precautions to ensure my security.

However, this attack by English Australis cannot go unanswered. I have resolved to initiate hostilities against them, as this is the only appropriate response to their treachery.

To ensure the success of this endeavor, I humbly request your support in the following areas.

First and foremost, I have obtained a video confession confirming that the South East Asian Alliance, in collaboration with English Australis, were the primary orchestrators of the assassination attempt. I will be sending this recording to you, and I request that the evidence be disseminated among the major powers. By propagating this information, we can justify our war in the eyes of the international community, securing their understanding and, potentially, diplomatic backing.

Second, I request the dispatch of a battalion consisting of at least 1,000 troops. These soldiers will serve both as a special force and as part of a larger training unit for new recruits. Their presence will be crucial to strengthening our forces and ensuring that we are adequately prepared for the coming conflict.

Third, I ask that you grant me the title of temporary Lord Protector of Germanic Australis. This authority will enable me to act swiftly and decisively in securing our territories and leading our forces with the full backing of the Empire. I will hold this position until the day the war is over.

Additionally, I request the deployment of the war machines currently housed in my factories. Even if dispatched in small numbers, these machines will provide us with a significant technological advantage on the battlefield, allowing us to strike our enemies with overwhelming force. This war would also be a good training ground for the men who will man these machines.

Finally, I ask for the support of the 203rd Imperial Aerial Mages. Their expertise will not only enhance our combat capabilities but will also be invaluable in the training of their new recruits.

With your blessing and these resources, I am confident that we can bring swift justice to those responsible for this attack and restore peace and honor to the Empire.

I await your command.

In loyal service to the Empire,

Felix von Hohenzollern

Imperial Prince, your son."

"Looks like the second prince is making moves, your majesty."

"It looks like that."

The letter arrived via Goldy, who flew straight to the Great German Empire, after coming back from it.

Goldy was previously tasked by Felix to send the contents of their meeting with the East Asian Alliance to the Emperor. However, after just coming back from flying across the continents, tired and weary, he was immediately tasked by Felix to fly back home and send the letters towards the intended people.

Goldy was at first worried about his owner, since he had heard the assassination attempt, however, this worry immediately turned to warry…. Although tired and wanting to curse his owner, he still wanted to be of use to his owner, Felix. So he flew.

He flew above the continental lands and sea, with just a sliver of rest, or oftentimes without… After flying straight for 3 days, he arrived at the Emperor's windowsill.

Thinned and tired, Goldy immediately demanded 'offerings' of food, to which the Grand Butler acquiesced.

After resting for a few more days, Goldy then went on to continue his letter sending spree…

Going back to the Emperor.

Franz, the Emperor, is currently leaning his head back towards the headrest of his seat. He is currently weighing the pros and cons of waging a war against the English Australis.

After a while of thinking, Franz asked his Grand Butler what his opinion is.

"Tell me, Grand Butler, what do you think of this situation?"

"Your Majesty, didn't you hear that the second prince is currently blind, albeit temporarily."

"... yes… I heard about that."

"Then… that is enough, your majesty."

Franz smiled, knowing what the Grand Butler's words implies.

"You're right. There is no place for politics if your child has been hurt. Hear me, Grand Butler."

The Grand Butler immediately knelt down.

"I am hearing the Emperor's command."

"Send word to Oberst von Hülsen, the commander of the 5. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß (5th Guard Regiment of Foot), they would be reformed into a new regiment under the division that will be headed by the second prince. Ensure that these soldiers would be armed with the new guns and the new equipment made by the prince."

"I also think this is the time to inaugurate a new division, a division that will be tasked with Rapid response. We would call this new division, Division Spezielle Operationen (Special Operation Division)."

"Also, send word to Hans von Zettour, that he will personally mentor the prince, on how his new division would intend to be. It would be a good idea to iron out the role and details of the division during the upcoming war."

"Next, send word to the prince's factory. Tell them to pack up as many technologies that they can. Only send those machines with intended crews, such as the artillery tanks. Tell them, if they can, send at least 5 jet planes to the prince, fully functioning with the crew. Although… we need to put a "propeller" in front of it, to hide the fact that it is a jet plane. Refrain from sending the V2 rocket too. Such technologies need not be seen in this early stage of war."

"To add to the Germanic Australis navy, send the 2nd Home Fleet to help bolster up their navy. While you're at it, send a letter to the Empire's air force. Tell them to send a squadron of our normal aircrafts to be reformed into a new squadron under the Division Spezielle Operationen."

"Furthermore, send word to the 203rd Imperial Aerial Mages Squadron, to pack up their training and be ready to be sent to Germanic Australis. Tell their commander to add the trainees to the roster. Treat the war as a training exercise. Bathe their virgin bodies under the heavy fire of the treacherous lands of war."

"With these arrangements, the new division would have a multi-role in the upcoming war. Tell these people that they have 2 weeks to gather themselves."

The Grand Butler, who mentally took notes of all the Emperor's instructions, immediately stood up and bowed again.

"I understand, your majesty. Thy will be done."

The Grand Butler then went out of the Emperor's office.

Meanwhile, the Emperor is currently leaning back his head on the headrest of his seat.

He closed his eyes in order to sympathize with his son's current situation. He wonders how hard it is for his son to live without vision.

After a while, he opened his eyes again, and tapped a button underneath his table.

In an instant, a maid, someone who Felix personally knew, Mia, immediately entered the Emperor's office.

The maid then immediately knelt down.

"Mia, I command you, as my family's personal intelligence agent, to send this video to our agents outside of this nation. They would know what to do with this information."

"I understand, your majesty."

Mia stood up and went towards the desk of the Emperor. She then grabbed the letter, and the orb, which has the video recording of the confession. Alongside the orb, a picture of the street where the assassination attempt happened is also attached.

Upon seeing the picture, she immediately clutched her right fist. She had taken care of the prince all his life, although he is a bit weird these past months, it was a good weird to be honest. Mia considers Felix his family now, and she also knew that Felix also considered her as such.

They would pay for what they did to my prince. They would suffer more times, physically, mentally, or reputationally.

She then heard the Emperor's words.

"Go, Mia. Remember. Use that anger within you to effectively and efficiently move your agents. Make sure that those who made the second prince this way are properly dealt with."

"Your will is my command, your majesty."

Mia immediately turned around and walked outside the door.

Back to the emperor, he is currently thinking about the main opponent…

The Commonwealth huh? What could I do to destroy these pieces of old fucking shits of dog turds.

Meanwhile, in another place, a man is holding a letter in his hands.

This man, the King of Vinland, Felix's uncle, Ferdinand, had read the letter that his nephew had given him.

Previously, he had heard about his nephew's situation. He was kinda surprised that a letter from his nephew had arrived knowing that the prince is… well… blind… He had a few laughs about it but… after reading his nephew's, no, the prince's letter, he immediately adopted a serious expression.

The kind read the letter a few more times before putting it down.

He then leaned towards his chair and closed his eyes.

Looking at this, the king's butler is a bit worried. His king's reaction turned from joyful to serious in a matter of minutes…

He wanted to ask what was in the letter, however… his king opened his eyes.

"Butler. Send word to the navy. We would be sending a fleet to attack Diego Garcia."

The butler wondered.

"Diego Garcia.. Your majesty?"

The king then smiled.

"Yes, my dear nephew requested us to initiate raids on the Diego Garcia islands. As you know, this island is necessary for the Commonwealth in refueling their ships…"

"I understand, your majesty… But, wouldn't that be a declaration of war?"

The king looked towards the window of his office, and smiled.

"If their actions lead to war, then war is what they will get. Plus, my dear nephew got hurt, I am but an uncle who wants revenge for my family, and well…. Maybe some islands too?"

"Islands, your majesty?"

"Yeah, they promised us some islands in the Spice Islands as compensation."

The butler was shocked. Normally, the Spice Islands were a highly sought group of islands. The Commonwealth of before had previously occupied these islands, but recently, the Spice Islands were given autonomy.

"I see… the Spice Islands… hehehehe"

"Indeed, hehehehe"

"Hehehehe"

"Hehehehe"

The two laughed creepily with one another.

On the Oriental nation known as Nihon.

It is currently 1pm.

One particular person, seated at the main seat inside his office, is currently clutching a letter within his hand.

So… It looks like the prince would conduct a war before going to help us huh?... I understand, since the welfare of the prince was threatened. It's a shame but… I need to send a person to coordinate with them…

The leader of the East Asian Alliance is currently thinking of who to send to Australis as a point person when…

*knock* *knock*

Hmm?

The leader wondered who would come into his office at this time of day. Regardless, he still asked who it was.

"Who is it?"

A feminine voice resounded just beyond the door.

"It is your secretary, your majesty. There's someone here who would like to speak with you."

Hmm?

"Alright, let the person in."

The door immediately opened. From beyond the door, a person, who the leader had previously met, came inside the room. This person, the ambassador of the Great German Empire to the East Asian Alliance, came inside and walked towards the leader.

The leader noticed that the ambassador was clutching a letter in his hands. The ambassador also noticed the letter in the leader's hands.

The two of them looked at each other, then knowingly smiled.

"Your majesty, it looks like we need to talk about something."

"Indeed. It looks like it."

Meanwhile, in the Austrian Alps.

A person who is currently drinking her coffee is seated on a warm chair. On her background, numerous grunts and huffs were heard.

She was just peacefully drinking her black coffee when her adjutant came near her.

This adjutant, Viktoriya, came close to her commander.

"Commander… a letter had arrived for you."

"Hmm? I am not in the mood of receiving letters though? Vacation is vacation, you know?"

"But… The letter came from the Emperor himself.."

The Commander, Tanya, softly put down her coffee on her small platter.

"Alright, give it to me."

Viktoriya handed the letter to Tanya.

Whilst Tanya is reading the letter, Viktoriya tells Tanya the news that she had heard.

"Umm… Commander… I heard that there was an assassination attempt on the Prince… this resulted in him being blind..."

Tanya immediately froze. She stopped reading the letter and faced Viktoriya.

"Where did you hear that?"

"Apparently, Commander… it was the news these past few days… However…. Since we are deep in the Alp mountains, news is not new to us…. Earlier, a messenger from the Emperor himself had told me this news, alongside the letter from his majesty…"

Tanya quickly read the letter she was given.

The letter entails that they would be reassigned into the new Special Operation Division. Their current members would make the 1st Imperial Aerial Mage Regiment of the Division. There would also be room for making an all-around regiment, within the same division.

They were also tasked to wrap up the training and continue it on the Australis continent as a sort of 'trial by fire' scenario.

After reading the letter, Tanya folded it and closed her eyes. After a few moments of silence, she immediately grabbed her black coffee and chugged it down.

"Haaaa…. What should I do, Lieutenant?...... I want to punch the second prince so bad. He got in the way of my VACATION!!!!!!!!!!"

"Ca-calm down commander."

"How can I calm down!!!!!!!! ARGHHH!!!!!! My precious vacation time!!!!!!!!!"

"Please… commander… the recruits are looking at us like we are crazy..."

"DAMN IT! I need to share my sufferings with these kids!"

Tanya stood up and walked towards the recruits, while Viktoriya followed her.

"LISTEN UP YOU MUCKERS! THERE WAS AN ATTEMPT ON THE SECOND PRINCE'S LIFE!"

"I-is that true commander?"

"SHUT UP! YES, IT IS TRUE. WE HAD RECEIVED A LETTER STRAIGHT FROM THE EMPEROR INFORMING US TO BE REASSIGNED TO THE AUSTRALIS CONTINENT. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL BE WAR THERE."

"AND WITH WAR, THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY! HOWEVER, BEFORE THAT OPPORTUNITY COMES, YOU GUYS WILL HAVE TO DOUBLE YOUR TRAINING, HEHEHEHE."

Immediately, grunts, frustrations, and more curses flew out of the mouths of the recruits.

"Alright, you stupid pieces of shit! We need to double your beating!"

Tanya slowly walked towards the new recruits, with the other members of the 203rd flight surrounding them….

Wait for me, Felix. Imma punch you blind or not! For now, these guys will suffice hehe

Yow yow yow yow yow, my prelims are coming up! I'm gonna try writing a chapter but… it would be kinda late at times, hehe, gomene.

Now listen up, I need your opinion. I have two ideas in my head right now. I am thinking of making an original story…. Though it will not be posted right now, I will try to make the chapters for it whenever I have time…. At least a year from now? Hahaha For now, they are ideas!

First idea is a sci-fi story, with spaceships! Umm… the basic scenario is that two of the best Virtual reality players, a pilot and co-pilot, of a spaceship game, transmigrated with their own ship into a real spacefaring civilization. Yeah…. Hahaha… it's the base premise.

Second idea is a tower-climbing story. Not just a simple tower-climbing story but… something which involves reliving the various Apocalypses of different civilizations… it's kinda vague haha, this is more of a solo story...

So yeah, hahaha I hope you enjoyed the chapter!

Peace out, my dudes!
