Chapter 45: Adam

In the heart of a remote and desolate land, shrouded in the whispers of forgotten tales and cloaked by the shadows of ancient mountains, stands a cathedral unlike any other. Its grandeur is matched only by its hauntingly macabre beauty, a paradox of sanctity and the eerie. This is the Cathedral of Corpses, a sanctuary where life and death intertwine in a solemn dance.

Approaching the cathedral, one is immediately struck by its towering pitch-black stone columns, reaching skyward like sentinels of the abyss. These columns, each one a monolith of darkened stone, are more than mere architectural marvels. Embedded within their surfaces are the bones of countless beings from different races, their skeletal forms fused into the stone as though they were always meant to be part of this structure. The bones are arranged in intricate patterns, creating a mosaic of mortality that tells silent stories of lives once lived. Skulls, femurs, ribs, and vertebrae are placed with such precision and artistry that the grotesque becomes sublime, a testament to the cathedral's otherworldly craftsmanship.

Inside, the air is thick with an aura of reverence and an almost tangible sense of the divine. Each arch and dome within the cathedral is similarly adorned with the remains of the departed, their bones forming an elaborate and continuous motif that weaves through the entire structure. The light that filters through the stained glass windows, depicting scenes of celestial battles and angelic beings, casts a spectral glow upon the ossified adornments, making the bones seem to shimmer with an ethereal light. The interplay of light and shadow creates an ever-shifting tapestry, as though the souls within the bones are whispering their secrets to those who dare to listen.

In the very heart of the cathedral stands the centerpiece of this extraordinary place: a colossal cross, more than a hundred meters tall, dominating the space with its imposing presence. The cross is not made of wood or stone but appears to be an amalgamation of spirits and shadows, as though countless souls are sealed within its form. The surface of the cross is a deep, swirling abyss, its darkness punctuated by the faintest glimmers of light that seem to pulse like a heartbeat. It is both a beacon and a void, drawing all eyes to its profound mystery.

Before this monumental cross stands a figure, shrouded in a simple white cloak that contrasts starkly with the surrounding darkness. His golden hair and beard catch the faint light, framing a face that exudes an aura of serene compassion. Around his neck hangs a silver cross, modest in its simplicity. His eyes, pure and innocent like those of a child, gaze upon the cathedral with a depth of understanding that transcends mortal comprehension. This figure is Adam, the son of the Ancient Sun God, and he is watching the phenomena outside the cathedral with a profound sense of purpose.

Inside his mind, Adam cannot help but wonder who has sparked this phenomenon. Sentient and carrying the divinity of the Ancient Sun God, he is a figure to be cautious of. "Just who is responsible for this?" he muses the question echoing in his mind. No matter how much he ponders, he cannot pinpoint the person responsible for this incident. Adam, as the Ancient Sun God in disguise, is a being from the Pre-Epoch who woke up from the Chaos Sea in Chernobyl at the beginning of the Second Epoch. He became the "Creator" who slew the Ancient Gods and led humans to dominate the world in the Third Epoch.

He was a Quasi Great Old One of the God Almighty group and was extremely close to being a Great Old One. He had accommodated all required Uniquenesses and Sequence 1 Characteristics of all five pathways and was almost equivalent to the owner of the Chaos Sea through Sasrir and the First Blasphemy Slate. He was betrayed by the Angels and ultimately perished at the hands of Rose Redemption. His death caused the Forsaken Land of the Gods to be cursed and separated from the world. The Second Blasphemy Slate immediately appeared during the time of his demise. Except for the original Ancient Sun God and the original Lord of Mysteries, he dared to say he knew everything that happened on the earth.

He has met many gods and slain even more. This is precisely why this incident puzzles him. He cannot connect who this mysterious existence is, even with his immense knowledge. "Is this an ancient being that already existed even before I came to this world?" he pondered. That would mean that this ancient being's age is probably the same as the original God Almighty and the Lord of Mysteries. No, it was far older. As a being once a Quasi-God Almighty, he knew about the original Lord of Mysteries and the God Almighty. In their era, they reigned supreme above others and looked down on all beings on earth. The only beings capable of restraining themselves were themselves. They were rivals.

There was no sign of this unknown god at that time prior to his knowledge. This also means that this unknown god existed beyond that and has been observing the universe since the very beginning. Perhaps, only 'He' knew that Adam is not the original God Almighty.

Upon completing his reminiscing of the past, Adam's mind can't help but wander to artifact 00-8, the Quill of Alzuhod. He needs that quill to advance to Sequence 0 and become a true god. He remembers the quill was taken by the Golden Order. He has a premonition that this organization and the unknown god are connected. Perhaps, he will have to come into contact with that organization in the future and negotiate about the quill.

For thousands of years, Adam has controlled the world from the shadows. Nothing was out of his expectation. Everything went as he envisioned. For the first time, something has happened beyond his script.

In a desolate place, a Silver City, a figure can be seen sitting on the stone while viewing the stars in the sky using his clone in Intis. He smirks and pinches his monocle while observing the spectacle.

"Interesting," he murmurs to himself, his eyes reflecting the mysterious light of the celestial phenomena.
