Bernadette

---

"Long time no see, Sharon. I have heard of your extravagant spending in the last nine months during my absence," Bernadette said, her voice carrying a mix of curiosity and authority.

"I heard you're searching for ingredients for the Mystic Magister. I wonder if a Beyonder characteristic would suffice?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with the promise of a deal.

Bernadette, being the leader of the Element Dawn, had many resources to obtain information and ingredients, her influence vast and far-reaching.

"How much?" Sharon asked, her voice steady despite the enormity of the transaction she was about to engage in.

"Fifteen thousand pounds," Bernadette replied, her tone unwavering.

Fifteen thousand pounds was an immense sum, but it wasn't Sharon's money anyway.

"Wait a moment," Sharon said, reaching into her pocket to retrieve a note.

"Of course, you can tell your client to gather the funds first. I understand that this is a huge amount of money," Bernadette said, aware that Sharon was merely acting on behalf of another.

"There is no need for that. Just give me thirty minutes," Sharon replied, holding up the note. It contained the message to summon Arthur's messenger, a token given to her in their last meeting.

With a calm yet firm voice, Sharon began the chant, "Wonder of the spirit world; Red Knight Commander; The messenger that belongs to Arthur Pendragon."

As the chant concluded, a figure wearing full red body armor and wielding a long sword appeared, his presence overwhelming the room.

Sharon and Bernadette involuntarily took a step back. Bernadette, being a Sequence 3 Clairvoyant, was more sensitive to danger than most. Few things could make her anxious, but now, she felt a primal fear.

To evoke such a reaction from Sequence 3 indicated a power of angelic level.

Sharon's body trembled despite her efforts to maintain composure. She could sense that this being could obliterate her with a single strike.

Thud... thud... thud. The sound of Igris's steps echoed ominously in the silent room.

"What business do you have with my master?" Igris's voice was as cold as it was commanding.

Master. To command even an angel, Arthur must be an extraordinary individual. Sharon thought, her mind racing.

Not wanting to keep the imposing angel waiting, Sharon quickly recounted the situation to Igris. After listening, Igris vanished back into the spirit world.

"Sharon, just who is this Arthur Pendragon?" Bernadette asked, her voice tinged with cautious curiosity.

Sharon, still adjusting to the encounter, replied, "Even I only know a little about that man, just a little bit."

Igris reappeared, carrying a large sum of money. He opened the luggage to reveal thirty thousand pounds in cash.

"There are thirty thousand pounds here. Ms. Sharon can take the rest," Igris said, following Arthur's instructions.

Thirty thousand pounds! Subtracting the eighteen thousand pounds for the characteristic, she would have twelve thousand pounds left for herself. Sharon's mind whirled with the realization of such a profit. Despite the imposing presence of the angel, she felt a surge of gratitude towards Arthur.

Seeing Arthur casually produce such a large sum, even Bernadette was taken aback. Although she had significant wealth, most of it was stored in banks. To be able to produce thirty thousand pounds in cash suggested a staggering level of wealth and resources.

"An angel-level messenger and substantial financial backing... this Arthur must have an incredibly powerful organization supporting him," Bernadette mused, her thoughts mirroring Sharon's. In the world of Beyonders, significant power usually indicates powerful backing, essential for protection and advancement.

Bernadette produced the Mysticism Magister characteristic from thin air and handed it to Igris, who then vanished, his task complete.

At the Pendragon mansion, Arthur moved his bishop to checkmate, a victorious grin on his face.

"And I win again," he declared.

"Arghhh... this game is too hard," Uriel grumbled, frustrated by her repeated losses.

"Shall we play again?" Arthur asked his tone light and teasing. He relished these small moments of joy and victory, finding fulfillment in them.

Just as Uriel was about to respond, Igris materialized from thin air, carrying a box. Arthur quickly took the box and opened it, revealing the Beyonder characteristic inside.

"So this is what a Beyonder characteristic looks like," Arthur mused, this being his first time seeing one.

"System, do I just consume this?" Arthur asked internally.

[If the host desires, the system can safely absorb the Beyonder characteristic and integrate it into the host's body.]

"Proceed," Arthur instructed, trusting in the system's reliability.

[Commencing the ritual. Beyonder Characteristic Mysticism Magister successfully integrated into the host's body. The host has now advanced to Sequence 5 of the White Tower Pathway.]

The process was swift, likely due to his existing Sequence 5 status in the System Pathway. Arthur felt a surge of power and possibilities opening up before him.

The next morning, at the Roselle Museum on No.12 King Avenue, visitors marveled at the array of artifacts on display.

"So, this is the famous Roselle's belongings, huh," a visitor remarked.

There were numerous items, each showcasing the ingenuity and impact of Emperor Roselle.

"This is Emperor Roselle's golden toilet," a guide announced, much to the astonishment of the visitors. Everything Roselle did seemed to captivate and amaze the people, from innovative sewer systems to transformative transportation like trains.

Among the crowd, a woman with golden hair moved purposefully. Uriel, disguised and unnoticed, perused the books on display. When she found the black emperor card, she swiftly replaced it with a symbol, her actions precise and unnoticed.

Even Bernadette, with her heightened senses, would not recognize Uriel unless she revealed herself. Having completed her task, Uriel vanished from the museum, her presence barely a ripple in the spiritual fabric of the world.

A moment later, Bernadette's intuition tingled. Something felt amiss. She scanned the surroundings, her gaze sharp and searching, but found nothing out of place. Trusting her instincts, she examined the exhibits and soon discovered the replaced bookmark, marked by a golden crest symbol.
