Chapter 7: First Debut

At the lavishly extravagant mansion, a family of four could be seen having dinner. The ambiance was filled with the soft clinking of cutlery and the warm glow of chandeliers.

"Unexpectedly, Duke Arturus's son agreed to participate in this party," Earl Hall said with an amused tone, raising his glass in a toast.

"Duke Arturus's son? Is it the mysterious Arthur who never attended any social activity before?" the Duchess responded, her voice tinged with surprise and curiosity.

"Yes, it is that Arthur. It seems we have to hold an extravagant party this time... hahaha," Earl Hall chuckled heartily, the mirth in his eyes evident.

Duke Arturus was his closest friend, yet he had never met Arthur because of the young man's penchant for avoiding social gatherings. Arthur had a reputation for retreating to his room whenever guests visited, much to the frustration of those hoping to meet him. Despite Arthur's reluctance to socialize—a trait unfitting for a noble, who should be adept at building connections—his parents had always indulged him, their sole child.

Reminiscing about the past, Earl Hall began sharing stories of his adventures with Duke Arturus, while his family listened with rapt attention.

"Audrey, Arthur is the same age as you. Given your talent in socializing, you should befriend him when he comes next week," Earl Hall suggested, his eyes twinkling with intent.

Audrey smiled politely, understanding her father's underlying motive. "Of course, Father. I will make sure to introduce myself." Audrey was well-versed in the art of making connections, and she viewed Arthur as just another person to add to her network of acquaintances.

...

"Arthur, you're here," his father said warmly, looking at his son with a mix of pride and concern. This was Arthur's first debut, and he wanted everything to go smoothly.

"Looking good, Arthur. We need to hurry if we don't want to be late."

"Okay, Dad," Arthur replied nonchalantly, adjusting his suit jacket.

At the party, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation.

"And even Duke Negan is here," one of the nobles remarked, eyes scanning the room.

A figure walked down the stairs with graceful, measured steps, a small dog trotting beside her.

"Took you long enough," Hibbert said, a teasing lilt in his voice.

"Women naturally take longer to prepare than men, dear brother," Audrey replied with a smile, adjusting a stray lock of hair.

"I will go greet the guests first," Audrey declared, her eyes already sweeping the room for familiar faces.

"Is he not here yet?" Audrey thought, searching for the mysterious Arthur.

"Let's go. I'll accompany you," Hibbert offered, joining her as they descended the grand staircase.

"You look elegant as always, Mr. Glaint," Audrey complimented one of the guests, her smile dazzling.

"It is an honor to hear that from Backlund's most dazzling gem," Glaint responded, bowing slightly.

"Is Mr. Arthur not coming yet?" Glaint's question piqued the interest of those nearby.

Everyone was eager to meet the elusive Arthur, whose absence from social events had only heightened their curiosity. Arthur was a potential client for many, as nobles often sought to expand their wealth through strategic investments. Capturing Arthur's interest could secure significant backing for various projects.

"It seems he is still on his way," Audrey said with a practiced smile, masking her own curiosity.

"Oh, and here I was hoping to meet him," Glaint said, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

"Hey, isn't that person Duke Arturus?" A guest near the entrance exclaimed, drawing attention to the newcomers.

The crowd's attention shifted as they saw Duke Arturus entering, his cyan suit complementing his white hair, which matched his blue eyes.

But what truly captivated everyone was the man beside him.

"Is that Arthur?" Glaint asked, his eyes widening in surprise as he took in the striking figure.

Audrey turned to see the man who had instantly captured the attention of the entire room.

Beside Duke Arturus stood Arthur, his blue hair cascading down to his neck like a waterfall, contrasting stunningly with his turquoise suit. His face was soft and ethereal, his features seemingly sculpted by the gods. His golden eyes shimmered like molten gold, reflecting the light and adding an almost otherworldly glow to his presence.

Arthur's attire was elegantly simple, a well-fitted suit with trousers that ended just above his ankles. Special embroidery done with a unique material made him stand out among the others. His skin was flawless, his demeanor exuding a quiet confidence and mystery that drew everyone in.

"Who is that gentleman?" a girl whispered to her friend, her eyes wide with astonishment.

Every single person was mesmerized by Arthur's appearance, their surprise evident. Even the girls who typically compared the men at these parties could see that Arthur was a cut above the rest. Duke Arturus, noticing their astonished faces, smirked internally. He had always known Arthur was strikingly handsome and felt satisfied with their reaction.

If Audrey was the most dazzling gem in Backlund, Arthur was undoubtedly the most striking individual. His presence alone commanded attention, his blue hair framing his face perfectly, emphasizing his high cheekbones and full lips. His golden eyes seemed to pierce through the very souls of those who looked at him, leaving an unforgettable impression.

"Is this how they look at every new person?" Arthur pondered, noting the mixture of awe and curiosity in the eyes of those around him. Although unused to such attention, he carried himself with a grace that belied his inexperience.

As Arthur walked further into the room, the whispers grew louder, and he could feel the weight of their gazes on him. His nonchalant exterior masked the nerves he felt, but he remembered his mother's words and held his head high. This was his debut, and he intended to make it unforgettable.

Arthur continued to move through the crowd, every step measured and purposeful. The room seemed to part before him, a silent acknowledgment of his presence. Duke Arturus walked beside him, a proud smile on his face as he watched his son command the room effortlessly.

Audrey, who had been watching him closely, felt a newfound curiosity and respect for the man who had so easily captured the attention of everyone. She realized that Arthur was not just another noble to greet out of obligation. He was someone who could potentially change the dynamics of their social circle.

As Arthur reached the center of the room, he paused and took a deep breath, ready to face the many introductions and conversations awaiting him. He knew this was just the beginning, and he was determined to make a lasting impression.
