Chapter 60: Contradictions

Eric was a bit annoyed, but he kept his composure and didn't chase after her.

"Aren't you going after her?" Richard asked with a teasing smile. "It's rare to see you interested in a young girl. Or were you just playing around?"

"Mind your own business!" Eric snapped, glaring at him, but his eyes couldn't help but drift toward the window.

Through the clear glass, he saw Ella get into a man's car. The man even got out to open the door for her—Charles! So that guy was still hanging around her!

The urge to chase after her vanished, and Eric took a deep breath, feeling a pang of discomfort in his chest.

She was just a young girl. Why did he care so much?

Eric admitted he was genuinely interested in Ella and was serious about marrying her. But Ella had accepted Brandon's proposal in front of everyone. What did she think of him?

Someone she could call on a whim and discard just as easily?
