Yin Ran Tang POV:
I am Yin Ran Tang, daughter of Mr. Tang, the head of a second-rate family, and CEO of Tang Corporation. At 24, the past three years of my life have been a struggle because of Raghav Ye King.
He always claimed to love me and would do anything for me, but I realize now that he merely protected me from other boys who admired me. Recently, I heard his voice in my mind—his words laced with pain. He said he loved me wholeheartedly, but since I fell for someone else, he would no longer want me.
Today, I witness the cold, ruthless side of him, and it's heartbreaking. My father and his mother are here for our engagement, but I don't like the way his mother speaks to mine. She demands my father pay the debts of 100 trillion dollars to elevate our family from third-rate status.
It suddenly clicks; she's using my marriage to Raghav as leverage. My father's face is drenched in cold sweat, revealing the truth. He sold me to Raghav's family to clear his debts.
Sitting in the back seat of Raghav's car, I feel like a prisoner. "They're coming tomorrow afternoon," he informs me. "Think carefully about what you say."
"Okay, Young Master Ye King," I reply, a mix of defiance and sorrow swirling in my chest.
