Chapter 6: Are You Sick!?

Chapter 5 - Are You Sick!?

As soon as my words came out, both Riser and Ravel couldn't help but change their expressions.

The accusation of being ungrateful is a heavy one, especially for aristocratic devils like them.

Devils, despite their bad reputation, are known for their credibility.

Whether in the human world or elsewhere, they are recognized for their reputation.

In some ways, devils are even more trustworthy than some angels.

In the past few hundred years, the devil's regime has undergone significant changes.

The old Satan faction was overthrown, and new Satans ascended the throne.

The new regime revised policies and reshaped some old customs that prevailed among devils in the past.

The Phenex Clan is a loyal supporter of the new Satan faction.

If there were any scandal involving 'ungratefulness' now, their political enemies in the underworld would seize the opportunity.

It could cause huge losses to the Phenex Clan, not only in reputation but also in the status they had gained over the years.

"Human, what do you want? Wealth, beauty, power, or a long life? I can give it to you," Riser said, sneering disdainfully and offering conditions with an attitude of superiority.

Humans are greedy, he thought.

As long as the right conditions are offered, I would surely submit.

In fact, if not for the system, I might have agreed.

The conditions Riser proposed were indeed tempting, things that ordinary people pursue their whole lives without achieving.

Especially power and longevity, which even figures like Michael Jackson chased.

However, with the system, I felt these things were within easy reach.

"Riser, if you're sick, you should go to the hospital to have your head checked. You should have passed the age of delusional disorder." I shook my head, pretending to sigh.

"Why are you so naive?"

'Maybe I should call him Roasted Chicken?'

I played dumb, pretending not to know the Phenex Clan's situation.

Since the siblings planned to hide it, I saw no need to expose them.

Revealing it might be more detrimental to myself.

"How dare you call me sick?!" Riser was gnashing his teeth in anger, his lungs about to explode.

He wanted to spread his wings and scare me, who insulted him by suggesting he had a brain problem and a juvenile delusion.

It was unbearable!

"Onii-sama, can you stop causing trouble? If you can't control your temper, please go back and let me handle this myself," Ravel glared at her brother angrily.

I had no complaints against Ravel.

After all, coming to break off an engagement wasn't polite, and I was already being understanding.

But Riser was making things more complicated.

"Okay, okay, I get it. I'll bear with this lowly human a little longer," Riser finally relented, though his face showed he was flustered.

"I'm so sorry," Ravel said apologetically to me.

"It's okay. I have no complaints against you. But this is the second time you've apologized for your brother. If he truly loves his sister, he should apologize himself, instead of making you do it," I said indifferently, my words piercing Riser's pride.

What the hell!

Riser's face turned blue, then pale.

If it wasn't for maintaining aristocratic decorum, he would have cursed me.

"Riser, it shouldn't be difficult for you to say sorry, right?" I said, my tone mocking.

"You lowly human want me to apologize to you?" Riser was provoked again.

"No way, no way, is this how a big brother acts? Causing trouble for his sister and unable to say sorry?" I feigned surprise.

Ravel looked embarrassed and hopeful, hoping her brother would make a choice.

When Riser met Ravel's expectant eyes, he felt a pain in his heart.

"Sorry!" Riser gritted his teeth and spat out the word, looking like saying it was killing him.

Then he turned his head away, not wanting to talk anymore.

There was no other way. I was a descendant of his Father's savior and Ravel's nominal fiancé.

He couldn't harm me. If it was any other human, Riser would have burned them.

I knew this well and used it to my advantage, making Riser constantly frustrated.

"Well, I accept it. Although there's no sincerity in this apology," I nodded, then turned to Ravel. "Let's continue discussing our marriage contract."

"Okay," Ravel sighed in relief and nodded.

"I agree to break off the engagement," I said directly.

"What?" Ravel was surprised by my straightforwardness.

"Is there anything surprising?" I smiled.

"Nothing," Ravel blushed slightly, knowing her reaction was too big, and shook her head.

"Honestly, I'm not very interested in this kind of marriage contract," I said.

"What age is this? Elders still use this method to restrict their children's marriages without considering their wishes. If you want to get married, there must be a relationship. Only mutual understanding can lead to true happiness. Don't you think so, Riser?"

"Hmph, a human with some knowledge. I agree with you on this point," Riser nodded reluctantly.

After I agreed to break off the engagement, he held me in slightly higher regard.

"I admire your family's dedication. Keeping such a long-term agreement is commendable," I said, complimenting them. "I had completely forgotten about it and didn't even know there was such a thing. If you hadn't come, nothing would have changed."

"Of course, our Phenex Clan's manners are not comparable to human families," Riser said proudly.

"Do you have any requests? We will try our best to compensate you. After all, it's our fault," Ravel said softly, feeling they should compensate me for breaking the contract.

"Let's forget it. Your family remembering such a long-term agreement is already enough," I shook my head. "If I make a request on this, it would seem petty."

Hearing this, Ravel felt embarrassed.

Looks like She and Riser had the same thought of using conditions to make me submit if I was unwilling to agree.

Who knew I would be so generous?

"Human, you don't have to be hypocritical," Riser said, jumping up again. "The conditions I mentioned are still valid. If you ask, I will fulfill them."

"As you please," I shrugged. "Since you insist, you'll owe me a favor. When I really need something, I'll let you know."
