Chapter 27: Thresholds of growth

[Pov :Charybdis]

Since my defeat, I have been confined to this place, determined to overcome my previous shortcomings.

I have not rested; I have been practicing and growing non-stop, pushing the limits of my power.

The red blood water in my marble phantasm, which once seemed stagnant, now teemed with life again—or what passed for life here.

Emerging from the depths was the creature that symbolized the core of my ultimate skill the currently Unnamed creature.

It has changed. The once amorphous, embryo-like form evolved to a better more defined state.

it still resembled a monstrous fusion of a squid and a crab, with three gleaming eyes and countless writhing tentacles.

I approached it, placing a hand on its grotesque head.

It responded with a series of guttural noises that seemed almost approving.

"You're growing," I murmured, a mix of pride and determination in my voice. "Just like me."

The creature's development was slow but steady, a testament to the time I'd spent here.

I had been pushing myself relentlessly, practicing my magic, and refining my skills.

My ultimate skill, has seen significant improvements in its utilisation grounds

I have even delved into the deeper mysteries of holy Magic.

It had resulted in me gaining a small unique skill, Crescent Interference.

It functioned on the principle of Interference and superposition in Magic, allowing me to bring out more synergy in my magic spells.

It basically buffed my mix attacks with more than one Skill or magic used at a time.

With each practice session, the creature and I grew stronger.

It was still incomplete, but its evolving form was a promise of what was to come.

My desire for power was fueled by my memories of Milim and the joy I felt in teaching her alongside the humiliation of death at the hands of someone weaker than me.

I wanted to be stronger, not just for myself, but for the future I envisioned.

"Hang in there," I whispered to the creature. "We'll get through this together."

As I continued my training, I could feel the threshold of revival approaching. The creature's evolving form was a constant reminder of my potential and my determination.

I wasn't done yet. There was still so much to achieve, so much power to harness.

Every spell cast, every movement made, was a step closer to revival.

The vitality of the Dragon blood in my veins pulsed with power, pushing me towards that threshold. I could feel it—soon, I would return, stronger than ever before. And when I did, the world would tremble at the might of the new Charybdis.

As I cast another spell, a sudden, overwhelming force interrupted my focus.

The entire realm seemed to shudder, and I felt a connection—a powerful, familiar presence.

Milim. My vision blurred, and I collapsed, unconscious, alongside the creature.

[The Voice of the World:

Milim Nava has ascended to a True Demon Lord. The Harvest Festival is complete.

Distribution of Gift is now beginning]

When I awoke, the air around me was charged with a new energy.

Milim's presence was everywhere, her ascension as a True Demon Lord resonating through the very fabric of existence.

It was as if the world itself celebrated her transformation and threw a party.

I staggered to my feet, feeling an unfamiliar power coursing through me.

My body felt different, stronger, and yet more alien.

The creature in front of me had also undergone a transformation, its form more defined, and distinct draconic features present.

"Milim..." I whispered, realizing the magnitude of her evolution.

My connection to , the entity born from my skill, was now more profound than ever as my desire was to eventually merge with it and completely vecome the concept it represented.

The creature's evolution and my own were aided by Milim's ascension.

I felt the Voice of the World speak again, not in words but in a deep, resonating truth that filled my being. This was a gift, a reward for my relentless pursuit of power and my close attunement to Angra Mainyu.

[The Voice of the World:

Charybdis has evolved from Dragon Lord to True Evil Dragon [Pseudo Cryptid].]

True Evil Dragon. The term reverberated through me, distinct from the title of True Dragon, which I could never attain.

I wasn't born a True Dragon, but this new form was a push to my unique path, my strength, and my desires.

I looked at my hands , and felt the conceptual difference in my existence.

Just to check i shifted to my draconic form.

My form had shifted from the fusion of a dragon and shark to a more defined draconic form having lines of different coloured scales running along my back.

A mix of my dark blue, Veldora's black and a mix of dark red from the creature.

I was a being reborn, a Pseudo Cryptid, embodying the dark and chaotic nature more effectively.

The creature in my domain, the embodiment of my Marble Phantasm, seemed to bow its head in recognition and nudged me playfully with its head seemingly as a sign of it liking the new form.

"Thank you, Milim," I said softly, acknowledging her unintentional gift. "I will honor this power."

I turned back to my practice with renewed determination.

My new form, my new strength, was not just a boon—it was a promise.

A promise that I would rise, stronger than ever, and that the world would know the true might of Charybdis.

The creature watched as I resumed my training, its presence a constant reminder of the power I now wielded.

Together, we would continue to grow, to evolve, and when the time came, we would emerge from Shashvatam Naraka as a force to be reckoned with.

Somewhere in Heaven

In the deep, oppressive darkness of his ancient prison, Ivarage lay dormant.

His senses, dulled by millennia of confinement, suddenly sparked to life.

A surge of power pulsed through the air, resonating with an intensity that penetrated even his formidable seals. It was a feeling he had not experienced in eons: the birth of a new kin, similar to him in many ways.

His consciousness stirred, honing in on the source of this newfound energy.

Though he lacked the means to understand it fully, the raw, chaotic, and undeniably potent power was unmistakable.

This presence was not just any creature—it was powerful, something of great potential and significance, akin to his own essence.

A deep, guttural rumble resonated from within him, a sound that was equal parts acknowledgment and approval. This new being was a testament to the enduring power of their kind. Its emergence marked a significant shift, a disruption in the stagnant order of the world.

Ivarage's essence swirled with a mixture of pride and anticipation.

He couldn't perceive the specifics of this entity's journey or the trials it had faced, but he felt the magnitude of its transformation. Its rise was a beacon, a sign that the influence of their lineage was far from extinguished.

Though he could not express it in words, an unspoken understanding settled within him.

This new presence, whatever it was, was a harbinger of change, a signal that the balance of power was shifting.

The world, which had long been complacent in its stability, would soon feel the resurgence of their kind.

His confinement seemed a little less suffocating in that moment.

The presence of a new powerful kin, even one born of different circumstances, brought a sense of validation.

The legacy of their lineage persisted, and through this new being, it would continue to grow and evolve.

As the sensations faded, leaving only the lingering awareness of his new kin, Ivarage's dormant state felt less like an eternal slumber and more like a temporary repose.

Change was on the horizon, and the emergence of this powerful entity was only the beginning.

With a final, instinctual pulse of acknowledgment, Ivarage settled back into the depths of his prison.

The world outside was shifting, and though he remained bound for now, he knew that the time would come when he, too, would rise again.

Until then, he would bide his time, drawing strength from the knowledge that his lineage lived on, stronger and more resilient than ever.
