"I wonder if you have lost your brain cells somewhere, or maybe it is just your head," Eveline teased him, his sardonic humor not seeming to fit her.

Rather than trying to act cool, which did not suit his tastes, it was better for him to stay cold and distant.

"When I met you, I did lose some brain cells, but when I realized that I was in love with you, I did lose my mind. There you have it, my response."

Eveline could just give him a rolling-eye look.

She was obviously not pleased, but there was no way he would stay silent.

Eveline kept her comments to herself and turned to look outside when her phone rang.

Gabriel's expression changed from bright daylight to deep shadows as soon as he saw the caller's name.

Eveline noticed the sudden drop in his aura and quickly declined the call.

"Drop me at the bus stop near the college," she suddenly said.
