"Your attempt to persuade my mother went too far. It would be harder to tell her the truth later." Ella and Stefan left the building, but her words stopped him in his tracks, and he turned to face her.
"Who said I was lying? Everything I said was true, and you know it," Stefan said, disappointed that she was still considering telling her mother the truth about their relationship after he had poured out all of his heart.
Sometimes he wondered if Ella was really too stupid to deliberately ignore him, or if she just did not understand him at all.
Ella turned to face Stefan, noting the gloomy expression on his face. She did not understand what he was attempting to accomplish, but she also knew Stefan would not mean anything he said.
Someone who encouraged her to try falling in love with him in order to move past her heartbreak would not show up to make such a confession.
