Ch 2: The Unchosen

"Welcome to the tower, young man."
"The... Tower?" Asked Drake confused.
Seeing Headon and the others don't have malicious intent. Drake walk closer to them and ask everything about the shit happening right now. He is now very curious about this thing called tower and the strange mana.
After getting closer. Drake now can finally see clearly the three people in front of him.
That Headon guy has humanoid figure but has an appearance like a white rabbit with his long ears. It looks like beastman tribe, but also a different because his head is really strange and big. His face is featureless except for a black, slit like structure which can open to reveal narrow eyes or even his mouth.
He wears a purple colored shirt that seems to be merged with shorts. He also carries a long yellow stick with two green balls at each end which he likes to swirl around.
Now look at the girl. Drake must say she is very beautiful. That girl has a fair skin with flowing ankle-length dark hair that tied into a ponytail by a red ribbon on the left side of her head and a bangs swept to the right side. Her eyes is red and seems very sharp. Her figure is also very good with an above average sized bosom.
She wears a white long-sleeved jacket, black shirt, red tie, red skirt and black tights. She had a three red eyed symbol on her tie and hairpin.
Lastly, the guy is a man with a short stature. He has silver hair and milky colored skin. He wears a military green long-sleeved shirt and trousers, and a dark green boots. He carries a big backpack that because of his small stature, it is bigger than his own body.

(It seems like he don't understand what we say, princess)

(Then what are you waiting for? Give him a pocket)
"‰£π|°¥+$!_;\]"
(Okay okay. Let me get another one)
Meanwhile the guy and the girl talk to each other. Drake doesn't know what they talked about and choose to watch aside.
Suddenly, the silver haired guy opened his backpack and take a black ball out of it. Then he handed that ball to Drake.
"Hello. You understand what I say now, right?" Ask the silver haired guy.
"Heyyy. That pocket is too high ranked for you newbies. Say thank you. Now you understand what I'm saying right?" Ask the beautiful girl enthusiastically.
"Uh huh. Whoa, I can understand you right now. What is this black ball, a translation magic device?" Drake suddenly understand their language after getting the ball.
"Bingo, that's right." Said the girl.
"That ball is called a pocket. A must have device for a regular. Beside translation it have many other uses...." The guy then explained the general function of a pocket.
"Oh haha, thanks for the A-rank pocket then. My name is Drake von Alkhazar, nice to meet you."
"I'm Evan Edrok. A guide and also a ranker of the tower. And that lady here is Yuri Ha Zahard, a ranker too plus she is a princess." Evan Edrok then introduce himself and his partner.
"Tower? Ranker? Princess? Can you explain what is these things?" Even though he fight like a mad beast. Drake is not dumb. He tried to get any information he could get right now.
"Ahh it seems like you don't know the tower at all. It's gonna took a long time to explain all of this. So let's explain shortly.
Hmmm where do we start. Firstly, you should already know this place is called the Tower. The Tower structure can be simply divided into three parts: the inner tower, the outer tower, and the middle area. Basically the inner tower is where regular climb, outer tower is residental area, and middle area is an area between them that also habitable.
The Tower itself is a place where people climbs up to reach what they desire. But not everyone can climb the tower. Only the chosen one can climb the tower. That guy, Headon is the one in charge to choose someone who can climb the tower. That chosen person, is what we call a Regular.
Regular, in order to climb the tower, need to pass the test of every floor. Faced with many test, only the best of the best can made it to the top. And those who have reach the top are what I just called the Ranker.
However, every once in a while, an anomaly happens. There are someone who can open the gates on their own. In another word, they are someone who are not chosen to climb the tower. As such we call them, the Unchosen Irregular. It is you, Drake." Evan emphasized his last word when he say that Drake is an Irregular.
"Huh, it's true that I opened the gate myself. So now I'm what you call Irregular. What's up with this identity?" Drake feels like this Irregular thing is going to be troublesome.
"You must been aware of it. You are one of those who go against the rules of the tower. You are someone who unbinded by rules. Just now, I see you can use shinsu without making contract with the administrator. That is how special you are." Yuri said while she observed him with her sharp eyes.
But even though she looked as if she's very serious, something useless like 'Why every Irregular are this handsome. Is it one of the condition to become Irregular?' is what actually inside her head.
"Oh so this thing is called shinsu?" A strand of shinsu appear at his hand.
"Shinsu or Divine Water is a substance native to lifeforms within the Tower. It is produced by the Tower and flows through the surroundings like air. Everything in this tower runs with shinsu. It could be used to strengthen yourself like what you do before." Evan explained shinsu in a simple way, and show how versatile it is.
"So, what's wrong about me using it? And what contract do you need to use it?" Drake is now sure that being Irregular is incredible and also troublesome.
"You just don't know how impossible is it for a regular person. Administrators are the ruler of this tower. Each floor in the tower have an administrator. Normally you can only use shinsu after making a contract with the administrator. But you Irregulars are special. What you do just now is defying the authority of administrator.
On top of defying the rules. Each one of you Irregulars are monster. I just explained what is a ranker before. As what their name said, each rankers do have a rank according to their power or influence. And out of all the Rankers in the tower. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th rank is all Irregular." Continued Evan.
"Hiss, it seems like I've become something terrifying. Does this mean I will get many troubles." Now Drake can feel his head is aching.
"Yes you are. My father's fanatics and those crazy FUG will not let you go." Added Yuri.
"Your father? Oh right, I almost forget you're a princess. But what do you mean by your father's fanatics and this FUG will not let me go?"
"Princess Yuri's father, Zahard, is the only King of The Tower. A long time ago, he and the 10 Great Family Heads has make a contract of immortality with the administrator. With that contract, there should be no one can threaten their lives.
However, Irregular who goes against the rules of the tower is an exception. This was proven as Enryu the 2nd ranked High Ranker, killed the 43rd floor administrator himself. That incident marks that neither Zahards nor administrator is absolute. And that what will makes you, an Irregular, will be dragged into war between Zahard and FUG.
The Zahard Empire clearly doesn't reach that points without making enemies. And FUG is basically that enemy, an organization that wants to bring Zahard down. To do that, they need an Irregular. It is impossible for them to force either Phantaminum, Enryu, or Urek Mazino. The three of them already too strong to control. So, a new Irregular like you and Bam, will be their target."
"Ah, this is gonna be fucking interesting. Hehe..."
