Chapter 1: The Second Survivor
Alex suddenly opened his eyes and exhaled a foul breath from his throat.
"Where am I?" As the thought crossed his mind, fear gripped him. He found himself unable to move. Apart from shallow breathing, he couldn't even twitch his fingers, feeling as lifeless as a corpse.
Then, a voice devoid of emotion echoed in his ear.

"...!?"
Alex was bewildered by the voice's cryptic message.
Return mission? Dawn? What does this mean?
Footsteps approached.
"Help me!" Alex tried to call out but found his voice trapped in his throat. His eyes were covered by a white cloth; he lay flat, entirely shrouded by it.
"Huh?"
A surprised exclamation accompanied the footsteps.
Soon, a figure stood before Alex, removing the white cloth. Initially relieved, Alex froze upon seeing who it was.
Kakashi?!
Silver hair, black mask – there was no mistaking it. The person uncovering the cloth was none other than Hatake Kakashi, a familiar character from an anime.
Kakashi, now dressed in Anbu attire, examined Alex closely. "Medical team, we have another survivor here."
Noisy footsteps approached, and several medical personnel in white uniforms surrounded Alex.
"How is this possible? I checked; he showed no vital signs."
"Perhaps he was in suspended animation."
"This is rare!"
The medical team whispered among themselves while examining Alex, helping him sit up. As his vision gradually cleared, Alex found himself in a large morgue, rows of cots neatly lined with bodies under white cloths. Some bodies even had eyes preserved in jars.
Still feeling groggy, Alex's expression remained blank, his eyes clouded.
Observing Alex, Kakashi, with a complex expression, asked the medical ninja, "How is he?"
"His vital signs are stabilizing, but his mental state seems..."
The medical ninja shook his head, sighing.
Kakashi studied Alex thoughtfully, then instructed the medical team, "Take him to the hospital for treatment. I'll report to the Hokage."
In the hospital, Alex lay on the bed, his face still numb.
He sensed his body gradually recovering; his fingers trembled slightly. Meanwhile, disjointed memories flashed through his mind.
"Uchiha Shinji."
Based on these chaotic memories and the morgue scene, Alex pieced together his situation. He seemed to have transmigrated into the body of an eight-year-old boy named Uchiha Shinji on the night of the Uchiha clan massacre.
But how did he end up in the world of Naruto after falling asleep, and why in a morgue body?
There was no doubt: the real Uchiha Shinji had died by Uchiha Itachi's hand.
"What was that voice earlier?"
The strange voice upon waking in the morgue troubled him deeply.
His mind was in turmoil. Absorbing Uchiha Shinji's fragmented memories, the shock of sudden transmigration, uncertainty about the future – all overwhelmed him, preventing clarity.

Suddenly, he gasped.
He had just absorbed Uchiha Shinji's final memory before death: the moment Uchiha Itachi swung his sword.

"It felt like I was really stabbed!"
Alex shuddered with cold sweat.
Just integrating some of Uchiha Shinji's memories had already been mentally taxing. Before he could recover, his vision blurred momentarily.
His ink-colored eyes turned red, followed by the appearance of three tomoe, forming the Mangekyō Sharingan in a brief, breathtaking moment.
"It's the Mangekyō Sharingan!"
Alex was astonished.
The intensity of Uchiha Shinji's emotions before death had triggered the Sharingan. Although fleeting, it was real. His new soul had stimulated the dormant potential left by Shinji's death, completing the final evolution to Mangekyō.
"I didn't expect him to be such a prodigy!"
Realizing this, Alex felt a mix of emotions.
He knew intense feelings like resentment, hatred, and love could awaken the Uchiha clan's Sharingan. Uchiha Obito had been the last to achieve this feat, single-handedly sparking the Fourth Ninja World War.
In contrast, Uchiha Sasuke had only unlocked a single tomoe Sharingan after witnessing his parents' death and enduring Tsukuyomi by Itachi's hand.
Uchiha Shinji, a relatively unknown figure in the original timeline, possessed the potential to unlock the Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Will I live as Uchiha Shinji in the future?"
Alex felt a pang of disappointment.
Assuming Uchiha Shinji's body and memories might confine him to Shinji's fate.
