Forbidden fruit

Aarav entered the place and found a young girl waiting at the entrance, Aarav face showed no emotion while the girl left the place as soon as she saw his face, Hatred could be seen in her eyes.

Aarav didn't except anything less and shrugged his shoulder before following her. The interior was spacious and every inch of the place was radiating peace and love. There were only two of them but none of them spoke anything, they did everything together from cooking to dinner to cleaning but not a single word left each other's mouth as if waging a silent war.

After dinner the both left for their respective rooms and started doing their things, It was not until 10: 30 pm that Aarav stepped out his room and entered the girl's room.

The girl seemed to be sleeping, but Aarav knew she was usual awake till late and was only acting but didn't say anything, he sat on the edge of the bed with her back to his face and he took a look at her before starting his speech,

" Avi Thank you, thank you for hating me. You don't have any idea, how much I wanted this. I was so tired to see people acting as if nothing happened, but today when I saw the hatred you had for me in your eyes, I was relieved Avi , so relieved that you grew up different, different from me and those people"

His words shocked her what did he mean by he wanted this ? Was he happy to see me hate him? Shouldn't he be explaining himself, and what did mean 'people acting as if nothing happened' were the people in the Trivedi Mansion acting as if nothing happened? She wanted to ask those questions right away, but she knew the man in front of her would leave the second opened her mouth, so she chose to stay silent.

Meanwhile, Aarav was really relieved to see her acting natural, he had a feeling that Arundathi was acting different than how she did in the novel, and he didn't know what to do if Avi changed her attitude as well. He didn't have Aarav's memories before his transmigration, so there was nothing he could do if the characters changed their approach suddenly.

"I know you must be wanting to see them, and I also know you must be thinking that all this time while I left you here all by yourself, I must have had lived a happy life having best of everything, I don't blame you for thinking that way, others think the same as well but believe me Avi, it was hard ,so hard that Sometimes I found it hard to breath" Aaron paused and took a deep breath it felt as if he couldn't breathe just by imagining it.

"That place was cold and lonely, not that I complained I knew, it wouldn't end even if I complained, even if I ran away or even if I told someone about it what could have changed, so I stopped.. I stopped myself then, I questioned myself what was even trying to do, and then an answer came from the very bottom of my hearth 'I was searching, do you know what I was searching for'"

Avi didn't respond to any of his words but as he continued,

She had an urge to hug him, an urge to pat him as she felt his pain from his wards,

"warmth, I was searching for warmth, I wanted to feel it even if it was just for a bit, but I knew even with asking for it there was no one in that house who could give me that, and may be that was why I couldn't understand what it was and may be that was why I couldn't give you the same warmth after all how could I possibly give you something I never felt for myself?"

"May be that why whenever I was here, I followed you here and there, and why do that? Because I felt being with a person was enough to make the other feel warmth, and guess what you didn't like it, and then I found myself back on square one and also with the same question again, What is warmth"

Avi felt that his voice was dry and lacked emotions. She felt as if she could see his whole life through his words.

"But this time I had an answer, it was something I didn't want and when I was doing fine without it, why should I go after something I didn't need and just like that volla 'it was a miracle' I gained enlightenment, and I was free, I felt as if I was free from the shackles that bound me"

"Long after that, I met Arundhati by then she and I were on odds she did things that hurt my pride and I agree that I did go far in taking my revenge but in the process I discovered something, something that I stopped looking for, and then came the damn thing I stopped looking for came into my life and look at it's timing.

"It was then that for the first time in my life, I felt warmth and after what felt like eternity, I found it's meaning. Do you know what it is? Let me tell you 'it is the feeling of being loved'. She is a good teacher, isn't she? But then again my selfishness struck me hard, just like how Adam craved the forbidden fruit I found myself craving for her love and then just like how god punished Adam for his sin I was punished for my sin was punished for my sin as well."
