Chapter 40: Ch 39: the Island
In the sky above, four figures could be seen flying in the direction of Endless Sea Islands. In this world except the Great Han Dynasty, there are four more sphere of influences namely: The Great Yan Dynasty, Tian Lang Dynasty, Ash-Gray Cloud Evil Lands and last but not least the Endless Sea Islands.
The four figures in the sky were yang feng, su yan, xia ning chang and meng wu ya. It has been a day since the four left the sect to find yang feng's so-called Treasure Hunt.
"Hey brat, how long before we reach the island?" Mang wu ya asked while looking at yang feng. "It will take about 5-6 days to get there with our current speed." Yang feng replied after he did some calculations.
"But what is it that junior brother is looking for there?" Asked a curious xia ning cheng. "Now where would be the fun in that if I told you about it? But I can say that the things there would be able to elevate all of our strengths to at least the peak of True Element Realm, or we might even reach Immortal ascension realm within two - three months."
Hearing his words the two girls were a little surprised, Su Yan especially was as she knew that the amount of Qi she needs to absorb in order to advance was greater than many people combined and Yang Feng would need even more.
Meng wu ya was also a little surprised at the declaration, but knowing that his disciple's strength would increase greatly in just 2-3 months, he was quite satisfied with this trip.
They flew for 5 days while stopping every once in a while to rest for a bit, which wasn't needed much considering their cultivation level, according to the direction yang feng read from the map.
During these days both Su yan and Xia ning cheng talked among themselves and seemed to have gotten along with each other. Yang feng was relieved after seeing this and looked happy that they got along well.
Meng wu ya on the other hand looked both conflicted and guilty. He felt guilty when he looked at Xia ning cheng talking to Su yan with this much enthusiasm and joy. He always stopped his disciple from interacting much with other which lead to her not having any true friend.
While he felt conflicted because during the time they flew, he saw Xia ning cheng sneaking glances at the brat yang feng and the brat flirting with the both girls. He honestly didn't have anything against the boy, it was just that he got on his nerves with all the mysteries surrounding him and the way he talked to him.
It is to be known that he was once the most powerful person in his world, but now a brat who wasn't even in his twenties talked to him like that.
He was also shocked when on the third day yang feng had given Xia ning cheng a Qi compressing technique, this increased the mysteries around him grow even more. In the end, he just let out a long sighed,' *sighhh* l'll just let nature take it's course.'
Yang feng had been thinking of giving the technique to Xia ning cheng for some time now and finally decided on the third day of their travel. With the technique Xia Ning Chang's cultivation compressed to 5th stage True Element Realm.
Now this came as a shock to him as her rank only dropped by three minor realms. But after some thinking he came to a conclusion that her Qi was already quite pure and strong because of her physique.
On the 6th day, an isolated island came into yang feng's view. Seeing the island from afar, yang feng suddenly stopped which confused the two girls. But when they saw carefully, they saw a type of a curtain surrounding the island.
Yang feng then took out the shell that he gained from the system along with the map and started to push his Qi into it, under the curious eyes of the three. When he started, he felt the shell absorbing his Qi at such a speed that in a few minutes 1/4th of his Qi was sucked into the shell, which left him with 3/4th of his total reserves.
He continued to push his Qi into it for a few more minutes and just as 1/4th of his Qi was left, the shell stopped absorbing anymore of his Qi. Suddenly the curtain surrounding the island slowly dimmed and finally dropped.
Just as this happened, meng wu ya felt a shift from under him, in the sea. He then snorted and looked at yang feng, "is this the reason you bought me along brat?"
Yang feng looked at him from the corner of his eyes, looking a little out of breath and said, "it was you who wanted to come not the other way around old man. Now as you are here already, you should lead a hand to the three of us."
Meng wu ya just let out a sigh, while the two girls looked at each other not knowing what was happening. But it didn't take long for them to know what the two were talking about as Meng wu ya slowly raised his hand with a crazy amount of Qi revolving around it and made a grasping gesture towards the sea below.
The Qi in the air crunched with the gesture and the sea directly below them suddenly splashed and a giant squid like monster beast, that was releazing an aura of Peak immortal ascension realm, was brought out from the sea and looked to be held in place by an invisible force, suspending it into the air.
Meng wu ya looked at the monster beast with cold indifferent eyes and slowly clenched his hand Into a fist, this lead the force on the squid to also pressurize it, which eventually made it's body explode and separate into many parts to fall into the sea.
Meng wu ya was only able to do this so effortlessly because of his cultivation being at the 2nd order Transendant realm while also retaining his saint Qi, as his cultivation was only sealed.
Yang feng then again started flying towards the island with others following behind him. When he landed on the island, he sat down and popped a few pills into his mouth. It took him two hours till he was recovered to his peak.
He turned towards his group and stated, "this place has been isolated for an unknown amount of time. So it has many rare treasures and also a few Trancendent realm monster beasts." When they heard him they were a bit shocked as Transendant realm/Tier 6 monster beast were not easily found in this world.
But he said that there were a few on the island. Meng Wu Ya in particular didn't think that much, but he still had a slight frown on his face.
The others listened carefully as he continued," I will just say that you all should be careful when going around here." Both Su yan and Xia ning cheng nodded, while meng wu ya just looked at him.
"I have divided the island in four parts, I will be going that way and you guys can choose one of the parts as you wish. Treasurer Meng there won't be anything of much use to you here so you can help the others if they need it. Also as there are a few Tier 6 monster beasts on this island so even I might need your help."
He explained his plan, laying his plan of continuing forward separately. The three thought about it and agreed, so they each chose a way and left in different directions.
He had first wanted to explore with the others, but decided not to as he still needed to retrieve the soul warming lotus. He would have been alright if it was only su yan and xia ning cheng but as he still didn't knew what meng wu ya's reaction would be upon seeing the lotus, he decided on this plan.
The area he had chosen was the one that had both the cave with the soul warming lotus and also the insect nest. He planned on absorbing the insect queen and use the other insects to look for treasures around the island.
As he continued to move towards the nest marked on the map. The map was really meticulous, it included information about many things which included the insect nest and a few other things as well.
He soon came across a mountain cave, with verious size of of insects coming and going from the cave. As he approached the cave, the insects seemed to have sensed his presence and like in the novel surrounded him and lead him into the cave.
When he entered the cave, he didn't just sit around and directly approached the queen's nest. Inside he saw skeletons of many monsters, drained of any vitality. He even felt them crack with just him stepping on them, which usually doesn't happen.
While he was looking around he felt a presence approaching him at a speed that he knew, he couldn't react to. But he wasn't worried, infact he was rather excited for what was about to unfold.
He knew that there was only one being in this nest and he had came here for that same being. 'come!'
he thought as he slowly turned around, catching a glimpse of the approaching presence that looked like a golden blur, The Prehistoric insect 'heaven-devouring insect'.
Just as he turned around, he saw a golden blur that collided with him and felt the heaven-devouring insect entering his body. Yang feng immediately sat down cross-legged where he was standing and started using his both of his cultivation techniques.
He did this because the more he delayed, the more of his Qi and vitality will be devoured by the insect queen, which I turn would make the queen more powerful.
His plan in coming here was to devour the insect queen. He wasn't worried of being devoured by it because of his cultivation techniques. Both his cultivation techniques could absorb any type of energy or treasure to enhance his cultivation and be it a cultivator of higher realms, demons or monster, every part of them is a treasure for others.
When he used his two cultivation technique, the primal chaos body refining technique and the celestial chaos scripture, he felt the insect queen that had already started to devour his compressed Qi like a starved person devouring an excellent quality food, resist the force it felt from the usage of his techniques.
As yang feng continued to circulate his techniques the force felt by the insect queen also continued to increase. It took a few minutes for it to realize that it was in a seriously dangerous position and tried to escape.
Yes, it 'tried' but was not successful. It felt it's body frozen in place, unable to move. This was Yang feng's doing, he knew that this would be his only chance to devour the devouring insect, so he used his Qi and every fiber of his refined body to lock the insect queen in it's place.
"*humph* want to escape after entering? You might as well stay there forever." Yang feng said in a vicious tone.
