Chapter 42: Chapter 42 Brought Taylor Swift Home?

The Bundesliga winter break is the longest among the major European leagues. In fact, the winter break of the 2. Bundesliga is half a month longer than the Bundesliga's. This gave Su Luo a substantial winter vacation.

After the team disbanded for the break, Su Luo focused on catching up with his studies. Training usually kept him too busy to attend classes. However, thanks to his memories from his previous life and some extra math and physics exercises, he easily secured the top grade at Berlin's ECOLEA International Arts and Sciences Middle School!

Despite seldom attending classes, Su Luo was still a prominent figure at school. His status as the top scorer in the 2. Bundesliga earned him a lot of attention. Whenever he showed up, crowds gathered, and female students eagerly lined up for his autograph.

After completing his midterm exams (Klausur), Su Luo felt relieved. Even without regular classroom test and oral exam (mündliche) grades, his excellent mid-term, final exam, and graduation exam results would qualify him for high school graduation. When the "German college entrance examination" Abitur came around, he might even secure a university admission while playing football. He could become one of the rare football superstars with a university degree.

After dealing with midterm exams and other chores, Christmas gradually approached.

"Lo, do you want to come to my house this Christmas?" Josephine asked.

"Huh? Are we meeting your parents now?" Su Luo replied, surprised.

"I haven't told my family about you yet. They've always been against me dating before I'm an adult," Josephine hesitated, wanting to muster the courage to tell her family but afraid her father wouldn't approve. Her father, a loyal Werder Bremen fan, knew the private lives of professional players well and repeatedly warned her against associating with them.

But Josephine had ended up dating a professional player. She feared her father might have a cerebral hemorrhage when she brought Su Luo home. Thus, she struggled for a long time before Christmas.

Su Luo, expecting a beautiful Christmas with Josephine, now faced this dilemma. After a moment of thought, he said seriously, "JoJo, I think you'd better go home for Christmas this year. I hope when your father meets me, I'll be playing in the Bundesliga, and then I can give him a surprise."

Maybe it would be more of a shock. Since Josephine's father didn't like professional players, Su Luo would need to prove his strength, especially when playing against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Meeting her parents then would be a much better situation.

"Okay, so are you spending Christmas alone?" Josephine asked.

"We Chinese people don't care much about Christmas. If you're not busy in the future, I can take you back to China for the New Year," Su Luo smiled, imagining bringing his German girlfriend back to Jiang Cheng for the New Year. He wondered what his mother would think.

"Okay! I've long wanted to go to China!" Josephine said excitedly.

"Great! It's a deal then. I'll bring you home in the next couple of years."

...

On Christmas Eve, Josephine had gone home a week earlier. Su Luo, bored and alone in Berlin, planned to go to England to watch the Christmas games. In his previous life, he watched the Premier League more and liked teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Watching a North London derby at the Emirates Stadium or a Double Reds clash at Old Trafford would be fantastic.

In the end, he was dragged by Captain Matuschka to a concert: Taylor Swift's Christmas Eve Tour in Berlin! The "Red" World Tour Berlin Stop!

Su Luo couldn't have imagined spending Christmas Eve like this. Taylor Swift was radiant on stage, singing "Red," "You Belong With Me," "Love Story," and other well-known songs. Even though Su Luo wasn't a fan, he recognized these songs and could even sing a few lines along with her.

Because they had excellent seats, Su Luo noticed that Taylor didn't seem to be in a good mood. She sang "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" with palpable anger.

The usually fierce captain on the field turned out to be a die-hard Taylor fan. "Her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles, cheated on her. I guess she's in a bad mood after the breakup," Matuschka explained.

Su Luo understood immediately. Taylor was known for dissing her ex-boyfriends in her songs. A year later, her single "Style" would sweep the major music charts.

Su Luo didn't pay much attention to Taylor's personal life. He wouldn't have attended the concert if not for the captain's invitation.

"After the concert, I got us guest passes for her celebration reception. How about going with me? Maybe we can take a photo with her," Matuschka suggested.

"Sure, I'll go with you," Su Luo agreed, having nothing better to do.

Little did he know that this would lead to a series of unexpected events.

...

"Ouch! Why does it hurt so much?"

"Damn, did I drink too much again?" Su Luo wondered. Since being reborn, he rarely got drunk. The last time he was drunk, he woke up in Josephine's bedroom, and that was how they ended up together.

This time, Su Luo looked around and sighed with relief. "At least I'm still in this bedroom. Nothing strange about it."

Josephine had given him the key to her place before she left, and he was used to staying there. Thirsty after his hangover, he turned to get some water, only to find a tall, slender blonde sleeping on Josephine's pillow.

"Did JoJo hit a rebellious phase and dye her hair blonde?" Su Luo thought. But then he broke out in a cold sweat. Josephine was supposed to be in her hometown!

Who's on the bed?

Su Luo's hangover suddenly lifted. With trepidation, he approached the blonde to see her face clearly. Just as he got close, the woman rolled over and hugged him in her sleep.

Su Luo saw her face clearly.

"Taylor Swift?!"
