Chapter 9: Ch 9: Ancient Starry Sky

Having read the whole magazine, Noah cut out some important parts of it and kept them separately for future reference.

This was a hobby he had learned from his mother, who always seemed to be thinking of something while gazing at all the information she had collected in her room.

Even his cautious behavior toward others was something he had gained after hearing about his mother's adventures in her youth before she gave birth to him.

In her adventures, her naive behavior made her a perfect target for her teammates, and she was always taken advantage of whenever they discovered treasures in the dungeons.

Even though his mother didn't seem to mind, or should he say she never thought they were taking advantage of her.

One day, I will definitely visit the places of my mother's friends and pay my respects to those Aunts.

Finally, he turned to see the round clock on the wall, showing 08:30 PM. He sat cross-legged on his bed with his eyes closed.

Fortunately, after becoming an Apprentice Wizard, his concentration had increased, and he achieved a clear mind without any distractions within a few minutes.

The whimpering wind, which used to have a great impact on Noah's meditation, had forced him to practice exercises to calm his mind. But this time, it could no longer affect him at all.

There was even a mention in the Light Element Art that once you reach the Level 4 Apprentice Wizard Stage, you would not even feel the need for sleep and food for more than three days.

At this moment, Noah took out a mana stone from his gray bag and started attracting the spiritual essence stored in it using his consciousness.

The energy in the mana stones was three times higher than the thin spiritual energy outside.

As time went on, Noah kept absorbing the floating essence from the mana stone through his meridians, and the speed of the spiritual energy flow grew faster and faster.

Wherever they passed, Noah only felt a warm sensation in the meridians and an indescribable comfort all over his body.

Finally, after passing through the eight meridians of the body, the spiritual energy arrived in the Mana Core and floated slowly.

At this moment, Noah felt a slight shock in his body, followed by a thunderous explosion in his mind.

Suddenly, his eyes turned white, and his perception seemed to have entered a vast and boundless space.

There was nothing visible in the space except a bright starry sky.

In front of it, Noah was as inconspicuous as a speck of dust.

What the? There was never a mention of something like this in the Light Element Art I have read?

At this moment, the Black dot inside his body that had always been silent until now started vibrating intensely as if influenced by something.

"Buzz..."

While Noah was in shock, the starry sky flashed with brilliance and instantly condensed into the figure of a radiant black dragon.

Its obsidian scales absorbed the light and gave off an otherworldly, dark shimmer.

The dragon's expansive wings spread wide, their edges outlined by a faint, eerie glow that contrasted sharply with the night sky.

Noah's breath caught in his throat as the dragon's eyes, twin orbs of deep crimson, locked onto his.

With a slow, deliberate motion, the dragon lowered its massive head, bringing its gaze level with Noah's.

In that moment, he felt a profound connection, as if the dragon was not just a creature of legend, but a Guardian of Ancient Secrets.

The air around them thrummed with energy, and Noah knew he was in the presence of something truly extraordinary.

The dragon's voice, when it spoke, was a deep, resonant echo that seemed to come from the very core of the earth, "Fear not, mortal. You have been chosen as the next successor of the Ancient Starry Sky."

Noah opened his mouth and wanted to speak, but he didn't have the chance.

The dragon waved its paw, and the stars in the sky flickered, instantly connecting into a line and turning into a ray of light.

Seeing this scene, Noah was stunned before he heard the fluttering sounds of the Black Grimoire and a shocking set of ancient words appeared in his mind.

In his mind, an image of a person was depicted without distinctive features, seemingly breathing in a strange pattern.

At one moment, the person was practicing martial arts under the starry sky, absorbing the energy from the stars to temper his body and seemed to be cultivating the Body Refining path of Knights.

Then the scene changed, showing the same person sitting cross-legged, inhaling the energy of the stars into his Mana Core, following the path of a Wizard.

In both instances, he seemed to be practicing the same set of breathing patterns. This scene repeated again and again in his mind countless times.

When the same scenario repeated for the thousandth time, Noah felt the scene growing blurry until it completely faded away and a set of words magically imprinted themselves deep inside Noah's soul: "Ancient Starry Sky."

These words weren't written in any known language that Noah had ever come across, neither in this life nor in his previous one, and even in the novel, there was nothing mentioned about the Black Grimoire or this mysterious Cultivation method.

Although it all appeared to be a bunch of indistinct ancient symbols, Noah was able to clearly understand the meaning these symbols formed.

After a few seconds, Noah's consciousness returned to his body, and he exhaled a breath of thick air to calm himself down.

He gazed at the Black Grimoire above him that still remained the same and murmured in his mind.
