Su Bai smiled and nodded in response.
Seeing the spirit beast flee, Shui Bing'er finally breathed a sigh of relief. Struggling to stand, she expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Senior, for saving my life."
Waving off her thanks, Su Bai asked, "What's your name?"
"Shui Bing'er," she replied.
Su Bai nodded, confirming her identity. Shui Bing'er was indeed beautiful. Despite her current disheveled state, her serene beauty was undeniable.
"You were hunting for a spirit ring?" Su Bai inquired.
Shui Bing'er nodded and then spoke with a bitter expression, "Yes, but I didn't expect to encounter such a powerful spirit beast. My teacher sacrificed herself to save me."
Her voice trembled with sorrow as she recounted the events. "If not for you, Senior, I would have..."
"Condolences," Su Bai offered softly, "Since you need a spirit ring, why not let me help you?"
Surprised, Shui Bing'er looked at Su Bai, unsure why he would offer his assistance. "Senior, you've already saved my life. How can I trouble you further?"
"It's no trouble," Su Bai said with a dismissive wave, "I was just wandering around the Star Dou Forest out of boredom."
Shui Bing'er's eyes widened in shock. Did he just say he was wandering in the Star Dou Forest out of boredom? This forest was home to many hundred-thousand-year-old spirit beasts and the newly established Dragon Temple. Even a Titled Douluo would tread carefully here.
Seeing Shui Bing'er's astonishment, Su Bai added, "I can help you absorb a ten-thousand-year spirit ring."
"What?" Shui Bing'er was taken aback. "But Senior, I'm only at the fortieth level..."
"I know," Su Bai acknowledged, "But I have a way to make it possible for you."
Shui Bing'er hesitated. Although Su Bai had saved her, absorbing a ten-thousand-year spirit ring was a life-threatening risk. Historically, no one had successfully absorbed such a high-level ring at her stage.
Noticing her hesitation, Su Bai decided to demonstrate his credibility. He activated his spirit ring simulation skill, displaying his nine rings: six black and three red.
"Six black and three red... Titled Douluo?" Shui Bing'er was stunned. Su Bai, who looked only a few years older than her, was already a Titled Douluo, and his first ring was a ten-thousand-year ring. The last three were hundred-thousand-year rings! Such a configuration was unheard of on the Douluo Continent.
Finally convinced, Shui Bing'er bowed respectfully, "If you would be so kind, Senior."
"Call me Su Bai," he corrected with a smile. Taking her hand, he lifted her into the air.
Feeling his touch, Shui Bing'er's cheeks flushed with a delicate blush. Despite her shyness, she allowed herself to be guided.
Using his powerful senses, Su Bai quickly located a suitable ten-thousand-year spirit beast. After incapacitating it, he turned to Shui Bing'er, who hesitated. "Senior, can I really absorb a ten-thousand-year spirit ring?"
"Absolutely. With me here, you'll succeed," Su Bai assured her.
Emboldened by his confidence, Shui Bing'er took a deep breath and approached the beast. Unbeknownst to her, Su Bai used a physique enhancement card on her.
Feeling a sudden change in her body, Shui Bing'er looked back at Su Bai in shock. He simply smiled in return. Her surprise gave way to determination as she began absorbing the spirit ring.
To her amazement, it took only a quarter of an hour to complete the absorption. Summoning her Ice Phoenix spirit, she marveled at the two yellow, one purple, and one black ring surrounding her.
"I did it! I really absorbed a ten-thousand-year spirit ring!" She was ecstatic. This success was all thanks to Su Bai.
Bowing deeply, she said, "Thank you, Senior Su Bai. I am forever grateful."
"Just call me Su Bai or Brother Bai," he corrected with a smile.
Shui Bing'er hesitated, and Su Bai stepped closer, closing the distance between them. They were now so close that she could feel his breath. Her heart raced, and her face turned crimson.
"B-Brother Bai?" she stammered.
"You're very beautiful," Su Bai said, looking directly into her eyes.
Her immediate reaction was to lower her gaze, her cheeks burning. What did he mean by that? Was he interested in her?
Seeing her confusion, Su Bai took her hand gently, drawing even closer. Shui Bing'er's heartbeat quickened to an almost unbearable pace. Was he going to kiss her?
Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. Should she refuse? Could she refuse? She closed her eyes, ready to accept whatever might happen.
But nothing happened. Opening her eyes slowly, she saw Su Bai smiling. "This place is dangerous. Let me take you back."
Shui Bing'er, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment, nodded, "Alright."
After escorting her back to the human city, Su Bai prepared to leave.
"Brother Bai, wait," Shui Bing'er called out as he turned to go.
Curious, Su Bai turned back. Shui Bing'er hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and giving him a quick hug. Su Bai, surprised, naturally wrapped his arms around her, enjoying the moment. He could see her beautiful face up close, her clear skin and delicate features.
Her scent filled his senses, and he felt a sense of satisfaction.
Blushing furiously, Shui Bing'er quickly let go and fled, leaving Su Bai amused.
As she disappeared, Su Bai shook his head with a smile. Instead of returning to the Star Dou Forest immediately, he decided to visit his wife, Bibi Dong, in Spirit City.
